Michael Jackson: Off The Wall (1979) (... w/ Hulk Hogan)
[00:00]in 2020 four friends decided to listen to every one of the greatest 500 albums as decided by
[00:04]rolling stone magazine this resulted in a text chain that celebrated the music excoriated the
[00:09]order and led us to making this podcast we are far from experts we promise to do almost no research
[00:14]all opinions are our own unless you disagree please sit back and enjoy beck did it better
[00:20]we're all the way up to album 35 even though we did 36 last week this is off the wall by michael
[00:26]jackson so guys i was thinking this week that hey russell did you did you uh did you catch
[00:31]wrestlemania last weekend wrestlemania was it 37 or something like that yeah did you see you said
[00:37]i thought russ was going on a date and it was called russellmania
[00:40]hell in the cell we're at rumble in the jungle we're way past we're way past russellmania 37
[00:49]we're at like 102 it's fantastic i love to think of a date you get in you're like this is a hell
[00:54]at the cell i've been doing splashes off the
[00:56]top rope for like 101 russellmania so far oh he's got a sweet chin music yeah hey but did you see

[01:14]get it for you oh that sounds fascinating oh here here we go that's the hulkster oh yeah that's the
[01:26]hulkster oh my god
[01:28]yeah oh i just had some sushi
[01:37]oh my god
[01:52]oh my god
[01:56]you know what's beautiful is when i go to my friend's house
[02:06]and i keep dick wife all day long
[02:08]oh my god
[02:11]light just a light
[02:13]oh my god
[02:14]oh my god
[02:18]oh i just had some sushi
[02:22]oh my god
[02:26]that would be such a great wrestlemania entrance
[02:36]i was confused i didn't know like who was coming out that was confused that took me a while
[02:47]for you jack was he like winking at everyone's wife in the audience during it or not
[02:53]yeah he's kind of rubbing his belly i don't know
[02:55]takes a call from his son i do want to remind you once again he did take a call from the sun in the middle of that
[03:01]you can just imagine after this podcast we should watch that rob every time every week the problem is like once again i am on my work computer but you know what who cares we're just going to do it all right listen i am here this is we are here this is beck did it better and we are here talking about michael jackson's off the wall and i've got three guys here who promised not to stop until you get more than enough that's our promise to you today
[03:25]uh
[03:25]i've got matt minneapolis matt how are you doing
[03:27]excellent rob thanks for having me as always
[03:29]i've got russell in minnesota russ how are you doing
[03:32]rob i'm going to tell your wife exactly what we're doing i'm going to tell her what you do to me late at night when this podcast is recording
[03:41]that would be great talking to my wife is one of my great joys in life so i would appreciate if you also did it as well took up some of that time out of the day
[03:49]uh listen and i've got aaron and aaron who just somehow whispered to me over zoom that
[03:55]i'm going to tell her what you do to me late at night when this podcast is recording that would be great talking to my wife is one of my great joys in life so i would appreciate if you also did it as well took up some of that time out of the day uh listen and i've got aaron and aaron who just somehow whispered to me over zoom that
[03:55]when i feel the heat we can ride the boogie i don't like that aaron i got aaron out in california how
[04:00]are you doing aaron it's true uh tonight i'm going to leave my 10 to 3 up on a shelf and just enjoy
[04:05]myself all right i don't know what that's from that could be from anything okay we've got to get
[04:10]into our next segment and unfortunately i have to do a little bit of an apology and now an apology
[04:17]from beck did it better i'd like to take this chance to apologize i just really love the guitar
[04:22]here actually
[04:22]absolutely nobody
[04:24]beck does it better podcast i worked hard on this oh yeah all right so normally i don't talk about
[04:33]this stuff but last week after the podcast and i wrote this down in my little my little notes
[04:37]thing right away last week after the podcast it came to be told to me that at some point
[04:44]aaron's wife has decided that i am being too mean to aaron oh and she is starting to get upset that
[04:51]i'm being so mean to aaron okay
[04:54]and so last week aaron told me that aaron said that i was you know that that his wife noticed
[05:01]that he was getting picked on and that she felt bad about it and we kind of laughed about it and
[05:06]went on bully but i have to say unfortunately this causes this week's spanking of the week
[05:12]it's time for big papa rob to give you the discipline you crave
[05:18]it's time for the official beck did it better spanking of the week
[05:24]oh jeez rob if it's for aaron not me come on oh rob so i have to say i have to say aaron how dare
[05:31]you make me feel bad about actions in my life you're gonna be spanked for that okay i shouldn't
[05:36]have to feel bad for things i've said guilt just walking through that's terrible if your wife ever
[05:40]complains about me again do not tell me i don't want to hear about it i want our listeners to
[05:44]pick on you i don't want to feel shut up for a second anytime i pick on you i don't want to feel
[05:48]one iota of guilt for what i'm doing so how dare you make me feel bad even for the millisecond that
[05:53]i felt aaron i'm talking under me yeah don't interrupt for the millisecond you make it for
[05:58]that to interruption rob even for the millisecond that i felt bad about it that was terrible i
[06:03]couldn't handle it so unfortunately this apology has turned into a spanking of the week that came
[06:07]at the very end of a long conversation where you all wanted to know exactly what her thoughts were
[06:12]on the pot and i gave some good compliments but then i had to give the the honest truth that she's
[06:17]there for me she's she's my that's my heart man that's my she's my day one that's my my ride or
[06:21]die we were just being nice we didn't really want to know what your wife thought of the podcast you
[06:26]can just keep that to yourself next time i i do have to say i i want to make it very clear i love
[06:31]aaron aaron's great i make fun of him only because he is probably the only one of us who should
[06:36]actually be hosting this podcast in any way or no no you're the main host you are the main host
[06:41]but it's true aaron you're right how dare you would have done eight straight weeks of slobber
[06:45]dog i don't think he should be hosting any i think he's fighting his co-host role
[06:49]to rosie's
[06:51]rosie's co-host role i think he's fighting his co-host role i think he's fighting his co-host role
[06:51]to come to rosie's defense you know he kind of said that you know towards the end of it
[06:55]rob you were three sheets of the wind i think he apologized right after you wrote uh granny style
[07:01]and you couldn't stop laughing to yourself and he wrote it down in a sheet of paper so you
[07:05]remember it the next day but you still have it it's right there so you would remember the joke
[07:13]of the morning and so that's you know i so to rosie's you know he he probably thought he was
[07:18]in a safe space that it was safe to say that we were deep in the
[07:21]depths of the post-game show if it will give us five minutes of content there are no safe spaces i
[07:26]will blow up any relationship i have to geek out a couple more jokes but it is true that at the
[07:32]after the podcast we hang out for another oh i don't know two or three hours sometimes
[07:36]and at some point for some reason after the chronic episode i decided that the words granny
[07:43]style is funny no matter what used in any context the words granny style who knows what it means
[07:47]nobody knows what it means but it's always funny and to prove it i wrote it on a sheet of paper
[07:51]showed it to him and sure enough i texted him i when i woke up the next morning i saw the sheet
[07:56]of paper that said granny style and i did chuckle to myself it was nice of aaron this week to wear
[08:00]that red wig so he looks like mona from who's the boss for you though rob so that spankings have a
[08:05]little bit of extra steam on them don't they yeah you know mona we're not we're not going a week
[08:13]without rob getting his who's the boss and that's a new staple it's just such a great i mean that
[08:21]who's about jonathan yeah who's the boss talk we just watch one episode of who's the boss and be
[08:32]oh this isn't as good as i remember just like every other show we watched growing up like
[08:35]basically we sat in front of a tv and we're like this is on so i'm gonna watch it you know the
[08:40]thing i wish we had is if if who's the boss had been 10 years later we would have had multiple
[08:45]men's health covers about tony denz's workout regimen it'd be like him and henry cavill just
[08:49]alternating weeks and i we don't
[08:51]know how that guy stayed so jacked right boxing i guess but like otherwise we don't we don't know
[08:55]exactly what his workout regimen was i don't like men's health it just makes me feel really bad
[09:00]about my life choices that ranks second behind when you guys talk your peloton on a weekly basis
[09:05]your peloton talk and men's health are the two things i could do without my life
[09:10]russell was confused because he kept looking up pillowton russell's looking at pillowton and he
[09:16]does have i mean he does have five life-size uh pillows with pictures of women on them that does
[09:21]his bed but i don't think that's what pillowton is haven't you ever seen those aaron those life-size
[09:25]pillows you can buy of people i haven't seen one of them no i just got an idea for another christmas
[09:30]present for you guys so get ready get ready for a raw body pillow it's gonna be sweet listen i want
[09:36]to get back to uh aaron cowering behind his wife as she sticks up for him uh this reminds me a lot
[09:42]of i was at my muay thai class and i got a black eye somebody punched me in the eye and jenny said
[09:47]why don't you just go in there and tell them oh this is my this is i i don't do this very
[09:51]much please don't punch me in the head anymore and i was like no you don't i can't just do that
[09:55]i can't hop in there and say like aaron couldn't say to me like oh guys my wife says right i
[10:00]shouldn't don't punch me guys okay just take it easy on me my wife says that please and meanwhile
[10:06]you know i i think your wife should be like your ride or die like i think no matter what bad decision
[10:10]you make your wife should have to stick up next to you and meanwhile once we were out in the streets
[10:14]of new york and i was wearing a hat with a batman logo on it and a guy tried to sell me a cd and i
[10:21]said no come on buy it and i said hey fuck off like i don't want to buy the cd and he looks at
[10:26]my hat and he goes oh fat man oh no fat man and then he started going fat man
[10:33]fat man of course growing up as a heavy guy like i've heard it all so it didn't really bug me
[10:39]jenny starts laughing as he's singing fat man she's in the back going
[10:43]she thought fat man was the greatest parody song of all time she's like ah she thought it was so
[10:48]funny i was like what no wait a minute you can't take this guy's side when he's going like that's
[10:51]not even a good joke rob where are you in your muay thai training that you would at what point
[10:56]would you feel like you're going to pull out some muay thai moves on a person like when someone
[11:00]calls you that are you like ready are you ready to do some knee thrusts or whatever it is that
[11:05]they do i would be but i i don't know i i have always considered myself a true pacifist i've
[11:11]never been in a fight in my entire life and i see no reason to ever be in one especially when i see
[11:16]those videos of like those oklahoma football players get shit kicked out of them by some
[11:21]that would be me i'd be like oh yeah special for us i've taken a dozen muay thai classes i with you
[11:25]know with an instructor that i'm paying for private lessons like that's why he doesn't punch
[11:29]me in the head i'm paying the guy so yeah the one time i took a class or it wasn't a private lesson
[11:34]i got punched directly in the eye i was like wait a minute you're not supposed to punch me you know
[11:38]it's terrible um but yeah i i would i would immediately be beat up and then probably thrown
[11:44]onto like the subway tracks that's how i would that's how i could see it going and then somebody
[11:48]would go oh look at that fat man and jenny would go ah
[11:51]i would immediately be beat up and then probably thrown onto like the subway tracks that's how i
[11:51]don't know i mean that just hearing her laugh i was and i said to her afterwards i go you can't
[11:58]laugh at that she goes yeah that was bad so she acknowledged it all right let's get into rolling
[12:04]going it's it's it's time to see what everybody's up to it's time for rolling going oh yeah
[12:17]yeah all right i'm gonna start this because i
[12:21]actually have a good one i had a power lifting coach in new york uh and if she's listening i hope
[12:28]she is hello i she's not she has now transitioned so i follow her on instagram she has now transitioned
[12:33]from being a fitness instructor and power lifting person and just kind of like a personal trainer
[12:39]right she is now a uh she now hosts clinics and writes like books or whatever on being polyamorous
[12:47]what does that mean it means that
[12:51]she's a personal trainer and she's a personal trainer and she's a personal trainer and she's a
[12:51]you date multiple people and have like relationships not just like like bangham or whatever she has
[12:58]relationships with multiple people and she hosts uh like meetings and chats where you can go on and
[13:03]learn about how to do it so my question is why did i ever drop her as my coach this would be the
[13:09]greatest transition of all time she'd be like yeah i'm not coaching powerlifting anymore i'm coaching
[13:14]polyamory i'd be like yes i would like to max out on that as well like i think that sounds great
[13:19]and what have you ever
[13:21]approached her as a coach and what have you ever approached her as a coach and what have you ever
[13:21]approached the have you ever broached the subject with jenny whether she would be open to a polyamorous
[13:25]relationship oh i i think if i believe they call that ethical monogamy rob oh i i think if i told
[13:32]her like i'm going out to date somebody else she'd be like oh thank goodness she would be so happy
[13:36]like i would not tonight i was i was i was getting ready for this podcast i walked in the bedroom
[13:40]three times on the third time she goes you know she's reading a book she goes you know it's really
[13:45]hard for me to wind down when you're coming in the room so much i was like it's my bedroom like i can
[13:50]this apartment is 80 feet away from me and i'm like oh my god i'm like oh my god i'm like oh my god
[13:51]square feet like i gotta i'm sorry maybe you just get it revved up man that's a lot of that's a lot
[13:56]of sex walking in there and at once like she can't you know she can't be around all that
[14:00]true i probably need to spread my sex out to multiple people and be polyamorous but can you
[14:04]imagine like polyamorous because here's the thing here's the thought right polyamorous is just like
[14:08]you're going to a sex party you're going to have sex with this person you're going to have sex
[14:11]polyamorous in real life is like going out on multiple dates so like i would have to hear
[14:16]about multiple people's days at work no i think it's living with i think but i think people take
[14:21]it to the next level where it's three four people living together sharing a life that sounds
[14:27]complicated oh i and i made the joke before i would love it if jenny got married to something
[14:32]another guy i would love to have another guy in the apartment we just hang out and play video
[14:35]games or whatever but literally like how would you start that you'd have to go on dates and like
[14:39]you'd have to be russell going on dates russell i maybe i don't know what maybe you could give
[14:44]me some advice for how to be polyamorous sorry i wasn't listening i was updating my profile and
[14:48]googling how to spell polyamorous and i think i'm a
[14:51]there but there what is yeah what is the difference so if you're living with four people
[14:58]right everybody's just like well i mean it's kind of like a covid pod where everybody's like we're
[15:03]just going to keep this all in the circle here or what's the no because it's it's not that all of
[15:10]them are dating each other it's just that you it's like having an open marriage right okay so a lot
[15:16]of what she posts about is like well you have to have trust and you have to set boundaries and stuff
[15:19]like that neither way
[15:21]which jenny and i have at all we we none of that on the dating apps you see a lot of people describe
[15:27]kind of atypical relationships like ethically non is it non-monogamous essentially so that
[15:36]people are married and they're saying me and my spouse have agreed we are allowed to date or sleep
[15:40]with other people and so you swipe or there's a lot of people out there that on the dating apps
[15:45]that are like that that sounds like would you be interested in getting a relationship like that
[15:49]russell would you would you honestly get into a relationship if you're a polyamorous person
[15:51]if she was married i typically on the occasions where i do read the profile before i swipe
[15:56]will swipe left and say no on those i just figure there's it it opens the world up to too many
[16:03]uncertainties it one person may believe this is the relationship status the other person on the
[16:09]other side may not and i do not want to be the third wheel that's causing problems for someone's
[16:13]life yeah plus it would be a bummer like just going to pick him up and then having to say hi
[16:17]to the husband like before you took this woman out that would be that would be a bummer
[16:21]that would be like it would be like being a 40 year old back on the homecoming dance
[16:25]hello sir i'm here to take your daughter to the dance that you have like a corsage what i think
[16:30]of the corsage is the giant plastic arby's container that the corsage came in it was huge
[16:35]and then walking in it made tons of sounds so you're like oh i look good i'm trying to sound
[16:38]cool and meanwhile you sound like you're coming in with like a plastic cup that you're crunching
[16:43]the whole time i don't know one thing that you see on the dating apps a lot i'll see what you
[16:51]they are a sapiosexual and i don't know if you guys have heard of that term but again i've had
[16:55]to google that one but my understanding is that's someone who is really into people that are very
[17:00]intelligent and they place uh more of an importance on intelligence than say looks or other things
[17:04]correct i are sapiosexual damn it i've never heard of i've never what was the joke rob
[17:10]i are sapiosexual oh no you just tell english that's impossible gave yourself away russell
[17:21]this shit sounds exhausting this is like these are whole new words i know no existed man oh my
[17:26]goodness generally i like when i see that because i figure oh i can swipe on this i'm educated i've
[17:31]i shouldn't say i'm intelligent so maybe i don't meet that standard but i always figure what that
[17:37]means is oh she's probably willing to overlook some physical stuff if you have something to say
[17:42]or if you're relatively educated or intelligent i think that's a crock of shit though i think it's
[17:47]people saying i have very very high standards i want
[17:51]someone that is very attractive and then i'm also going to boot out the idiots that are also
[17:55]attractive right i would say to them like oh i'm the opposite of a sapiosexual
[18:00]i only want to date real dummies biggie said i like him brussels who
[18:05]who what guy says well i'm extremely intelligent so you're gonna like me i mean like wouldn't you
[18:11]just wouldn't any smart guy be like i'm not gonna even come close to handling that whatever's going
[18:17]on with her if she's gonna put that down in her profile no i think i think the idea is
[18:21]you don't you don't throw it out there you just see if you can have a normal conversation and
[18:25]see if it appeals to her okay but isn't everyone a sapiosexual like nobody wants somebody who's like
[18:30]you know like oh how does my computer work or i mean well i guess that is
[18:34]i was like i was like when is the last time you've backed up your phone i've never backed
[18:40]up my phone i'm like what is going on in this world i'm a sapiosexual this is a disaster
[18:45]my empirical dating data would say that about 10 of women out there claim that they are sapiosexual
[18:51]and put it out there as a specific thing but that doesn't mean they're smart right they could be
[18:56]dumb as rocks and be a sapiosexual yeah well then i'm gonna swipe right yeah like i i would never
[19:01]date a woman that looked like me what a disaster i mean i would always want the opposite i think
[19:04]that's a great idea i just i feel like all of this like you know i have no idea what a polyamorous
[19:11]relationship looks like i don't know anybody who was in a polyamorous relationship i've got some
[19:16]i've got some video links i'll send it to you later they're all perfect have a few drinks
[19:20]over here
[19:21]you're about to find out but like the whole thing of it is right is like you you find what you want
[19:27]in this world and you find what you like and you find your niche and you go for it right and so
[19:31]like clearly your your coach um this is something that's important to her and important enough to
[19:38]say hey i'm gonna go down this route i'm changing you know yeah so like i don't know it's like i
[19:45]am i there's no way i could even try to come close to in my head figuring out a polyamorous
[19:51]relationship but i don't have to right so good for these people and i don't know i mean it's kind
[19:55]of cool to learn about this stuff i just i i don't get it i don't know i don't you know and i like
[19:59]and i'm not you know me i would never kink shame anybody you know i i think whatever people are
[20:03]into and aaron's in defeat or whatever like i think it's great but it is part of that too
[20:08]save it for the after show the um now he's holding up a sign that says granny style that's disgusting
[20:16]that's even worse i don't even know what that means it's very bad but the thing is it's really
[20:20]what it is really is the new york city thing where every single person has to have a hustle
[20:24]like everyone's like they can't just be polyamorous they have to say like oh i'm
[20:29]holding workshops on how to be polyamorous like yeah yeah i i would understand that maybe if you
[20:34]were trying to be polyamorous you'd want somebody to tell you how to do it but on the other hand
[20:38]it's like i think people have been handling like dating a lot of people at once for a long time
[20:42]but that's new york where everybody because people are willing to pay for it like people all this time
[20:45]i thought this podcast was so special and it turns out we're just rob's new york hustle like rob just
[20:50]most most people just listen to the rolling stone 500 album list but rob's the one who needs a
[20:57]podcast about yeah so this is like a side hustle thing like you gotta find your niche where people
[21:02]will pay a monthly interest yeah and now realizing that my side hustle could have been polyamory this
[21:07]is the dumbest fucking thing i've ever done in my entire life i'm a fucking idiot you spent the last
[21:11]32 friday nights with us instead of polyamory throughout the city of new york sapiosexuals
[21:17]would no longer be attracted to me it's a real bummer matt rolling going how's it going with you
[21:20]uh good i got my list here so yeah yeah get that list out um i've officially listened to granny and
[21:27]style that doesn't make any sense that's not a list that's how i get my burgers i didn't know
[21:31]so so what you guys are like this for christmas i got a from my kids one of those things and it's
[21:38]dad loves saying and it's uh sayings that dads love all the you know it's like one of those 365
[21:43]and like a calendar a rip-off calendar so this one says dads love saying what's the damage when
[21:48]they get the bill i mean these things are hilarious so i don't know do you say what's
[21:50]the damage or not no but there's things like i make a big joke of i i will try to carry as many
[21:57]grocery bags in in one one fell swoop you know like just world's strongest man russell wrestle
[22:04]that thing in there don't go back for a second trip and of course on like february 12th or
[22:08]something like that i was like dads love carrying in all the groceries in one trip so yeah it's
[22:13]great don't you enjoy those i got my list on the back car just walk out slowly look at the sky
[22:17]take a moment to enjoy some quiet that's i mean look at a bird
[22:20]or something i i take them one at a time it's easy to do that when you only work eight hours
[22:25]a week erin and you spend the other 32 eating cheese tortellini and going on quote-unquote
[22:30]you know and getting right with your wife with your wife driving all the time you mean you're
[22:35]just kind of relaxing back there i'm white knuckling and trying to keep the kids quiet
[22:39]in and out of the grocery store fine have a donut all right whatever you know let's go back and i
[22:43]just want to sit down and have a you know have a sandwich right so i'm trying to get it all done
[22:47]quick matt's babysitting his kids he's doing the best he can you know
[22:50]like some of us rosie have real jobs and we're trying to be polyamorous we don't have time to
[22:55]bring in that grocery okay i need to be polyamorous i am out there polyamoring it up
[23:00]i have officially hit 250 albums on this list
[23:04]we're we're over we're over the edge uh we'll talk about a few of them okay so just to give
[23:12]you an idea just to give you an idea we will be there in about five years but we will be there in
[23:20]don't think about that rob how many polyamorous partners do you think you will have by the 250th
[23:25]album oh over under two and a half oh i i i assume it's oh over under two and a half i that's like
[23:32]for this week i mean i assume that when i start being polyamorous it's just going to be super
[23:36]easy and work out and i'm not going to have to do any work and all you got to do is pay 50 bucks
[23:40]a week to go to this class and you'll uh you'll figure it out i know my love language is touch
[23:44]what more do i need to deal with when i'm being polyamorous i watched uh zappa the uh the documentary
[23:50]zappa that's good on hulu now it's very good um we need way more weird people in this world to
[23:57]kind of counterbalance all the all the squares and so and then you know he was the one who's
[24:02]fighting against uh putting the labels on all the albums the um the sensor label stuff like
[24:09]so i mean i don't know he's a fascinating human being outside of his music i mean in his art but
[24:13]just after kind of all of the music he went into big time uh he was he was he was a good dude for
[24:19]for the world and i think he's a good dude for the world and i think he's a good dude for the world
[24:20]and uh it's a good watch so watch that um there's another documentary on hbo called pray obey kill
[24:28]and it's it hits all it hits all of the documentary uh hot spots hold on let me get my notepad out let
[24:35]me get my notepad out what was that one again pray obey kill it's got uh it's got a wife that
[24:41]was murdered it's got a mistress who might have done it it's got a church uh cult-like uh setting
[24:48]in the middle of the swedish wood
[24:50]and you know the only problem is is it's mostly in swedish so you have to read subtitles so
[24:54]i realized that i think we're all getting dumber because i'm sure we're all like watching our
[24:59]phones half the time and i realized that i actually have to like pay attention to the movie
[25:03]what i'm watching because i have to read so that's kind of a pain but there's four or five episodes
[25:08]i mean i've been too into it and yeah it hits it hits all of the uh documentary hot hot buttons so
[25:13]so far i recommend it documentaries now documentaries now love being tons of episodes
[25:17]don't they like they can't just tell you about a story and they can't just tell you about a story
[25:20]in like two in like an hour it's got to be all of them whatever they could be yeah cut it by 60
[25:25]you know so i don't want they don't they don't need to cut any of the mistress episodes i feel
[25:30]like mistress episodes are they deserve their full length of time right maybe that's the key
[25:35]to being polyamorous is that like when you say mistress like that sounds kind of nice doesn't
[25:38]it like that sounds like a nice title like oh yeah that's horrible sounds horrible rob subtitles are
[25:45]nice even movies sometimes it's nice to if you watch with the subtitles you catch some stuff you
[25:50]wouldn't have caught before no and we we do that a lot i mean to kind of try to keep keep the keep
[25:55]the tv down so you don't wake the kids last thing you want matt's wife's gonna be yelling at rob next
[25:59]week instead of aaron's wife when matt brings up this polyamorous situation that he's been
[26:03]considering tonight look guys no no i mean for real all of us going polyamorous matt would be
[26:08]the funniest by far that would make me laugh so hard but hey and in my relationship like you know
[26:14]i don't know i i think i'm married up my uh my i'm not the one that needs to be married i'm not the
[26:20]one to worry about i can tell you for a fact you did just to let you know yeah i'm not the one that
[26:23]needs i need to worry about sarah coming to me and saying you know let's try out this polyamorous
[26:27]thing because you know it's not gonna work for me no no no i think she'll do just fine can you
[26:32]imagine matt like driving around the twin cities setting up inflatable snowmen at like four different
[26:37]houses every christmas it would be fantastic oh that'd be so great listen if any of your wives
[26:42]want to be polyamorous i am willing to be polyamorous with them we can hang out more
[26:47]together okay so please let me know so that got no luck
[26:50]so i feel like maybe i crossed the line there okay listen to everybody that was
[26:53]manny manny from south st paul you know he he's had this idea that we all just live on the same
[27:00]block grow up live on the same block and you know we can have a little league team and all that stuff
[27:05]and so i think we figured out what manny's uh ultimate goal was not all of us can afford alice
[27:10]court though that's the problem yeah and that would be a bummer because he would be polyamorous
[27:14]with my wife in two seconds i would just be like well i don't know what to do like i she's a good
[27:18]looking guy oh sexual like i don't know what to do like i don't know what to do like i don't know
[27:20]there's nothing i could do last thing i got rosie you'll you'll appreciate this is that my
[27:25]my radio station went off the air oh shit man 96.3 go fm in the twin cities was the only
[27:33]radio station that was labeled alternative there's adult alternative which is like cities 97 but
[27:39]but go 97 would play uh siamese dream followed by 21 pilots followed by some other obscure
[27:47]punk band and stuff like that like it was great and
[27:50]so literally i'm sitting in line at uh the school waiting to drop off my kids are gonna wait for 20
[27:55]minutes every morning we're listening to the radio and literally getting out of the door three in the
[27:59]morning it went it went uh to dead air i'm like what oh man i figured out and so now instead of
[28:06]having six christian stations in the twin cities we now have seven christian stations in the twin
[28:13]cities and so i don't know i'm thinking rosie god matt you have all my sympathy that's a terrible
[28:19]thing so i don't know i'm thinking rosie god matt you have all my sympathy that's a terrible
[28:20]i don't know rosie i think i was kind of thinking about this like it would be great to start a radio
[28:24]station and so yeah but i think that goes i think this is the dumbest idea i don't know the fact
[28:30]that you guys even listen to the radio is so crazy i'm trying to i'm trying to think of where does
[28:35]this fit in the dumbest ideas that people come up with all the time starting a coffee shop opening a
[28:41]bar getting a radio station going where does that fit in the order of dumbest ideas people can do
[28:47]the other day the other day i went to a coffee shop and i was like i'm gonna go to a coffee shop
[28:49]with a co-worker and we we rode in the same car and i panicked and immediately tried to flip to
[28:55]the radio station because i was terrified that our podcast on the chronic was going to start
[29:00]streaming through my car and so i went to the radio and i realized i had zero preset radio
[29:06]stations zero and i had and i had to like start scanning just to get to any radio station i might
[29:13]have landed on 96.3 the christian rock station oh my god you gotta go 91 you gotta go 91 one
[29:18]listen to our buddy pete
[29:19]i follow european cycling professional cycling a lot and there's a saying in cycling how do you
[29:26]make a small fortune owning a cycling team start with a large fortune and i imagine that it's
[29:31]similar to having a radio station can you imagine going to like a business and being like hey do you
[29:36]want to buy ads on our radio station and they'd be like who the fuck listens to the radio and it's
[29:41]like well nobody that's why i was able to buy this station for so cheap but i got a radio station
[29:45]changeover story do you guys want to hear it or should i save it for my ruling going bring it on
[29:49]i'm done go ahead let's let's go let's go over to you all right rolling going how's it going with
[29:53]you rosie uh it's going great it's going great i i do want to plug one thing i've been reading
[29:57]that i'm really excited about it is hanif abdurraqib's new book called a little devil in
[30:03]america it's uh notes on black performance in america i just finished the first uh segment
[30:08]he's got it broken down he's a poet who lives in columbus ohio um super writer but i just read his
[30:16]segment about um aretha he wrote about aretha's amazing grace
[30:19]and he's a poet who lives in columbus ohio um super writer but i just read his segment about
[30:19]concert which listeners of the show will know that we all really loved and then he wrote about
[30:24]watching aretha's funeral so hanif abdurraqib super great book i'm really really loving it so
[30:29]i wanted to plug that um because i know our listeners like to hear our recommendations on
[30:35]music there goes my rolling going thank you for nothing aaron okay let's all come up with one joke
[30:41]about that okay let's get i just get it go ahead there but i do now that matt i had another story
[30:46]i was going to tell them now that matt's talking about radio station changeovers i have to tell
[30:49]this story uh thanks man my wife's brother loves salsa music salsa and um reggaeton music and so
[30:57]when he comes to visit he would always change a radio station to in the car to to the reggaeton
[31:02]or salsa station in the bay area and it was a great station i loved it and so one of the weekends
[31:09]that they were that he was here to visit us it was probably five years ago i don't remember exactly
[31:13]you know got in the car to go somewhere turned on the reggaeton station turns out it was in between
[31:19]uh like matt was talking about you know radio radio changeover but rather than dead air for
[31:25]the entire replay a song hot over by nelly they played hot in here yes for the whole weekend for
[31:33]an entire weekend from friday night until monday morning you could turn into the radio station
[31:37]anytime and hear hot that's awesome and i swear to you it became a stockholm effect kind of thing
[31:42]where like by saturday afternoon i was like yeah hot here's a pretty good song like i really enjoy
[31:48]some of the production on here some of these
[31:49]rhymes are clever it's got i can't imagine why radio stations are getting canceled if they're
[31:54]just dropping nelly for 24 like tnt can get away with it with the christmas story for one day at
[32:00]christmas but nelly hot in here i still miss it to this day i still wish i could just turn on to
[32:06]one radio station and hear hot in here at any moment any moment rob why don't you why don't
[32:11]you try singing it for us karaoke and we'll see how it goes let's hear it he's saving that for
[32:16]the falsetto on this michael jackson i know i think i could nail this but i don't want to
[32:19]try right now i'm very busy doing a little bit
[32:22]a little bit oh no sweetie go back to bed sorry my kids woke up there that's uh not great timing
[32:31]you mentioned you mentioned brother-in-laws did you guys ever have the first time rob you have
[32:36]sisters mad i you don't have any sisters you have brothers but the first time i ever met my
[32:40]brother-in-law this is actually a pretty funny story so we our family takes an annual trip up
[32:46]north up in northern minnesota we've gone for the same place for like the last 30 years
[32:49]and speaking of polyamory my sister started dating my future brother-in-law and we had never
[32:55]met him before but she decided she was going to invite him up for a week to come stay with
[33:00]our family me my brother mom and whatnot and so she going into this she called my mom beforehand
[33:08]and she said my boyfriend is coming up for the week we are going to be pitching a tent in the
[33:19]backyard and i'm staying with the boyfriend you know this is really bullshit russell that you
[33:32]would pull this shit with me because i was just about to say the dirtiest shit about
[33:35]the humidity on the inside and like i had a joke all set about sleeping bags in your mouth
[33:42]and now i can't do any of those and now i'm furious at the thought that something like this
[33:46]might happen i would say absolutely
[33:49]a tent get out of here like that's insane there's only one reason you pitch a tent when you have all
[33:55]these things all over the place get out of here no thanks but they did stay in the tent rob so just
[34:00]so you know one day when you're up at that cabin there's a possibility there could be a statement
[34:04]to the old man listen let's be very clear my daughters can do whatever they want they're
[34:09]they're very sweet they can have their own lives i'm not going to do this like insane daddy thing
[34:13]listen when i was like a college age high school age if you'd have been like you can stay in this
[34:18]tent i'm not going to do this like insane daddy thing listen when i was like a college age high
[34:19]with a woman but i would have been like it doesn't matter i don't care what the butt is get me in there
[34:23]right now i want to pull down that rain fly and that's another joke i had all set up and then i
[34:28]couldn't do it terrible russell how could you do that to me uh russell rolling going how's it going
[34:33]with you uh it's going all right i i have to share a life thing that happened with me and see how you
[34:38]guys would handle this a little bit so i need some advice it's not dating but i just need life advice
[34:43]to get back on track get get get get to the corner it's time for russell
[34:49]advice corner oh yeah you're going polyamorous russell i've got lots of advice i think that's
[34:57]i've got somebody you can contact pause i'm trying to google sapiosexual and get that on my
[35:02]profile but it keeps spelling it wrong okay so a week or so ago i went to a restaurant and met
[35:10]someone for dinner and i left my my laptop bag in the back of my car and while i was at i had this
[35:17]date i left and i walked out of the car and i was like oh my god i'm so sorry i'm so sorry
[35:19]and my laptop bag had been stolen out of the back of my car but at least the date went really well
[35:25]russell it's not like you had two terrible things happen in one night right no actually the date did
[35:30]not go very well later on the night she had texted me and and my initial response was to say hey you
[35:38]don't recall me bringing my lap i didn't say like hey it was a great time or anything my response was
[35:42]hey you don't remember me bringing a laptop bag into the restaurant do you she's like uh no and
[35:49]so anyways anyways so i i got this by my laptop stolen out of my car there was another car in the
[35:59]parking lot that got its window broken in i gotta know have you guys ever gotten anything major
[36:05]stolen from you and how do you deal with it how do you get back on track when you feel like you've
[36:09]been kind of violated a little bit you know what i'm gonna find for you guys sometime and and i'll
[36:15]show it i'll you know what next episode i will find you the list of what got stolen out of my jeep i had
[36:19]a soft top jeep in minneapolis that i once drove jenny's car back to our apartment and parked it
[36:25]and i go boy i remember parking here earlier today yeah it was because indeed i yeah it was because
[36:30]indeed i had parked there earlier that day my own car which was not there anymore but i'm also a bit
[36:36]of a collector when it comes to cars my cars are probably the messiest things in the entire world
[36:39]so my list of things i wrote that was in my car going to the insurance company to get insurance
[36:45]for it was incredible it included i'll just give you a little teaser right now i'll find the whole
[36:49]time it included two bags of garbage that i was supposed to take out to the garbage
[36:53]i just had put in my car for some reason so you can imagine the guy surprised me he's like oh god
[36:59]there's so much stuff in this car i'm so glad i stole it then he opens up the two big garbage
[37:02]bags and there's just garbage rancid garbage in it and and then another thing that was in there
[37:06]and this is again this is the last thing it's just a tease is a uh bowling ball that had a grenade in
[37:11]the middle of it it was clear it had a grenade i remember that yeah i remember when you were way
[37:19]ahead of that list and then really making some hard life choices i'll bring the list next time
[37:23]next next uh i'm gonna write it down because it's it's something you can judge you can judge
[37:28]25 year old rob by what he had in the car we had a very nice bike stolen from our apartment in
[37:32]oakland um which was unfortunate but it was covered by insurance under by the renter's
[37:37]insurance so the bike shop benefited by us buying another new bike from them uh when i was in
[37:42]minneapolis uh i also had some stuff stolen from my from my truck uh one of which was a checkbook
[37:49]they wrote checks at numerous local restaurants like outback steakhouse
[37:54]and a couple of similar type places and every time a fraudulent check came through i had to go
[38:00]to wells fargo and get a notarized affidavit of forgery until finally i found like the one cool
[38:05]guy who worked at wells fargo and he was like here i'm going to give you a stack of notarized
[38:10]affidavits and i still remember that he had an autographed photo of scotty pippen up in his
[38:15]office so that's that's my number one thing i remember about having things
[38:19]stolen from my truck in minneapolis hey here's a picture i put an autograph
[38:23]another another one of my amazing impressions that i do uh why so aaron i don't want to get
[38:32]your wife mad at me again but why didn't you just like close the account or change it so
[38:36]the check's no longer is that not how it works am i dumb that is how i remember i i don't remember
[38:41]this was this was when i had this was my own this was my own checking account so i don't even
[38:47]remember it was perhaps before i had my own checking account so i don't even remember
[38:49]yes i assumed it was your own checking account what the hell do you think we're talking it wasn't
[38:53]a well you said i want to get my my my wife mad at you it was like it wasn't because i was making
[38:57]fun of you i'm sorry if you if it was a pretty funny making fun i was like i feel like that
[39:02]was a legitimate question aaron's many wives would make fun of you i don't get why you just
[39:06]didn't cancel the account like instead of every time you're like oh my gosh they wrote another
[39:09]bad check i can't believe it i don't know i just did what the people at wells fargo told me to do
[39:14]if there were such thing as polyamorous checks would there just be like seven names written on
[39:19]them would you just be like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't
[39:19]you have to have like the real big checks to fit all the names or not that would be baller wouldn't
[39:24]it if you if you had like four wives and you put all the names on your check yes rob and jenny and
[39:30]amy and sue sue's canal
[39:35]matt you ever had anything stolen no i can't think of anything
[39:44]i lock up my bike wherever i go
[39:49]man spent eight years and it was a great experience for him yes and yes that's right
[39:55]sorry i was trying to uh you know we're a podcast right so we try to do a little cross
[40:03]promotion every once in a while and i don't know why this popped up but i was trying to
[40:08]figure out what the difference between polyamory and polygamy were you know like just figure it
[40:13]out and but i got onto the lesson you know what's the difference uh polyamory is dating polygamy when
[40:19]you're actually dating polygamy when you're actually dating polygamy when you're actually
[40:19]married so if you've got like three wives that's polygamy i don't think you want to go through the
[40:24]legal the legal thing of thumbs down i just i just want to say there you know there are way more
[40:30]podcasts on polyamory than you would ever think possible so i you know i just thought hey we've
[40:37]got the polyamory podcast i'll just give you the top 10 you know as uh let's hear it let's hear it
[40:42]let's hear it multi-amory i don't know okay making polyamory work sexology yes polyamory
[40:49]that was my minor by the way by by by the by b-y-t-h-e-b-i casual swinger a life a swinging
[40:59]lifestyle podcast you know i like i like the idea of a casual swinger because it's somebody who
[41:02]doesn't take it so seriously you guys know what i'm talking about when you run into that swinger
[41:06]who's like listen i'm a swinger and this is what i do and i can't contact you on saturday because
[41:10]i'll be swinging i like swingers who are fun you know what i mean like they don't mind if they put
[41:16]on somebody else's socks at the end of the orgy
[41:19]that's not a big deal to them okay that'd be horrible they're ready to swap wives and have
[41:25]a good time and not worry about taxes while they're deep in my wife in a room next to me
[41:31]they don't care about how much their internet costs when they're spanking women in a room
[41:39]all lined up on a couch and they just walk down like
[41:41]they're looking at watermelons in the grocery store i want someone fun the casual swinger good
[41:49]thank you sir i will be subscribing a couple more that i think frenemy wives
[41:56]that's scary that scares me honest open and vulnerable podcast
[42:02]i have a feeling the real people that are in polyamorous relationships have nothing to do
[42:08]with honesty i think it's a bunch of a bunch of loving without boundaries there you go what the
[42:13]kink there you go what the kink what the kink see but i is paul is polyamory really a kink
[42:19]like i don't think it's that like i don't think that's that a kink right it's just like hey i want
[42:24]to date multiple people somehow somehow the tim ferris show ended up in the middle of this list
[42:29]here so hopefully by next week we're going to be on that list the hell if we don't have more
[42:34]downloads than what the kink yeah if you think this is this title of this is going to be michael
[42:39]jackson and polyamory you are correct that is going to get us the most downloads ever who would
[42:43]not want to listen to that podcast it's going to be so good oh no just so i don't know so there's
[42:49]anybody's interested there's lots of podcasts out there i will say it is very funny the coach
[42:53]uh does post things that she gets in her direct messages when she's a polyamorous coach
[42:57]and 99 of them are guys be like so do you want to fuck or what
[43:01]classic which is just classic guys of like oh so you're a polyamory coach
[43:08]should we bang now or later like this is a great idea all right let's let's get into
[43:13]rob's three sentences about the album everybody loves it listen so we are talking about michael
[43:19]the wall which came out in 1979 and this came about because michael jackson worked with quincy
[43:24]jones on the whiz in 1978 and had such a great time that he wanted to work with him on an album
[43:31]and this whole thing was them his goal was that he wanted to make an album that did not sound like a
[43:36]jackson five album so he wanted to make pause pause what's up is the whiz i what's what's the
[43:42]movie with fred savage where he plays with super mario brothers that's just wizard right it's wizard
[43:49]not the same movie it's super not the same movie do you recall michael jackson putting on a power
[43:55]glove at any chance well now wait a minute i don't know wait a minute michael jackson didn't wear a
[44:00]glove is it possible that we're misremembering that his glove is a nintendo power glove and he's
[44:04]playing outrun on it don't you remember fred savage in that movie and he's playing like mario
[44:08]brothers and all of a sudden he's playing mario brothers too and he knows how to use like the p
[44:13]wing and and the toad and all this it's like how would you know how to use that on an arcade game
[44:18]you've only played one
[44:19]time that was huge right because that movie came out before the game did so it was like everybody's
[44:23]glimpse of the game so a lot of people went to see the movie just to see what the game was going to
[44:26]look like so you're saying same movie correct i think it is i think that i think that michael
[44:32]jackson's the whiz is starred fred savage and michael jackson is i mean gloves it makes sense
[44:37]it all it's coming together all right all right i apologize to do no research so i'm gonna go with
[44:42]it yep rob i apologize for interrupting your force no that's okay i was just gonna say the
[44:47]whiz is also aaron's second favorite uh
[44:49]video search but that's a different you know what i don't want to kink shame aaron so that's what he
[44:54]calls his penis oh that's good matt matt's gonna get yelled at and then his wife's gonna yell at
[45:02]rob for yelling at matt for making a whiz joke that's what i'm gonna start calling my penis
[45:06]all right so i just thought it's gonna get edited where it looked like i came up with that one on my
[45:10]own oh that's funny me not man uh so basically he wanted to make an album that was not a jackson 5
[45:18]album and it's
[45:19]of course joe jackson father of the year was like yeah you can go off and make your own album but it
[45:22]better not interfere with our group work so you can imagine how fun it was hanging out with joe
[45:25]jackson this album came out it peaked all the way up at number three it had five singles four of
[45:32]them got into the top 10 on the billboard charts it's the first solo album to get four singles into
[45:39]the top 10 and insanely like this record i think people forget about this record because of
[45:45]thriller but this is like the michael jackson record that put him on the map
[45:49]and what's really interesting is when you read the quotes about this record so many people are
[45:53]saying like oh you hear this michael jackson falsetto we've never heard before and i was
[45:57]always like what are you talking about never heard before but if you listen to the jackson 5
[46:00]he never hits those super high notes that he does on this album which is crazy this is our first
[46:06]disco record that we've done the year that this came out the grammys this year gloria gainer won
[46:13]best disco recording for i will survive she is also the only person
[46:19]to ever win a grammy for best disco recording because it was immediately not a uh category
[46:23]after this disco is a very strange discos it's a very strange subgenre and it's hard to define
[46:29]because i wouldn't necessarily call this a disco record but i would call it a dance record which is
[46:33]probably disco and disco it's got a song called yeah it's got a song called burn this disco down
[46:40]yeah but but disco became a bad word um i think because of the the press and the um frankly racism
[46:47]um that was aimed to
[46:49]toward it and so yeah it's a it's a it's a strange uh short story in american history
[46:57]this album won one grammy and we talked about a little bit on the thriller one i know you guys
[47:03]always remember my album recaps but jackson was pissed he won for best r&b performance
[47:07]it did not win for best um album does anybody want to guess what album did win best album this year
[47:13]macarena no you're hearing it in the background right now it's a little person
[47:19]named christopher cross oh he won four of them right and this was the year that christopher
[47:23]cross came in and just blew away the grammys and nobody ever heard of about him again and he stomped
[47:28]all over michael jackson's first solo album and michael never forgot it made him mad for the rest
[47:34]of his career he was furious about it i believe we talked about this on the lauren hill episode
[47:38]where she was one of the people who swept the big four grammys and christopher cross was
[47:42]the first person who did that right guys sapiosexuals would love us we are so smart we
[47:49]did all this stuff a lot of smart shit i'm gonna i'm gonna cut out that clip and add an audio clip
[47:53]to all of my sapiosexual profiles well just make sure they've listened to all 300 hours of our
[47:58]podcast and ignore it actually quite a lot of what we said if you want to be attracted to
[48:01]sapiosexuals so they can make the connection like we just did should we get into the album
[48:05]let's get into it we should oh wait what did you guys just said no one we just shut down we just
[48:10]played the theme song and walked out all right here we go one of my favorite parts of one of
[48:14]my favorite songs and i gotta admit guys i love this album i love this michael jackson talk
[48:19]in the beginning i think it's so funny this is how funky this is i was i was just saying
[48:25]like he's at the movie theater with you before and you're like what
[48:28]i'm gonna do this on my next date like when i'm playing bang i'll be like
[48:37]i like bees i like eyes i like ends how old was he when this record came out like was he 20 yet 21
[48:46]uh let me look up what year he's in
[48:49]born aaron you vamp while i look up what year he's born because yeah i'm thinking about rob you
[48:53]talked about the falsetto i mean maybe his voice hadn't really changed for a lot of the jackson
[48:58]five stuff we heard born in 58 this came out in 79 okay so he was 21 yeah so i mean this might be
[49:06]his first kind of like adult voice album and it really is i mean his his voice in this whole thing
[49:12]is a total phenomenon aaron when you hear the falsetto i was looking at different artists that
[49:17]are really famous for having
[49:19]amazing falsetto voices and there's d'angelo how does it feel we listened to him a while back and
[49:24]he uses a falsetto but there's other one i think al green uses a little falsetto marvin gay where
[49:29]does michael jackson rank with prince and all these other artists that use falsetto voices
[49:33]in their song well what's funny to me is i wouldn't always think of michael's as singing
[49:38]falsetto because i for me there's kind of this difference between the squeal that he and prince
[49:43]both do and the falsetto that like when i think of the classic falsetto the number one for me is
[49:49]number one for me is eddie kendrick from the temptations for me it's eddie kendrick but i know
[49:54]there's more in the in the history of music but for me the number one is the temptations
[49:59]i'm gonna play keep on trucking in the background there yes true falsetto that's i mean i remember i
[50:04]remember hearing that song when i was younger and i was like holy shit this guy can sing up high it
[50:07]would be exhausting to be a falsetto singer in a band that's the one i mean i get tired just doing
[50:13]that my favorite falsetto song is you guys remember the song darkness i believe in a thing called love
[50:19]there's a whole thing about the bgs about how they you know they kind of their their their uh
[50:29]career kind of plateaued and then all of a sudden barry gibb just started going falsetto
[50:34]yep and turned into the whole thing talking about disco and so yeah i don't know did you
[50:38]know i think for voices like the lyrics the lyrics for staying alive are originally
[50:44]buried alive and that's why that song makes so much more sense if he's like living in the city
[50:49]and
[50:49]everything and stuff and then i'm buried alive hey rob that was when you have a polyamorous
[50:54]date and you say that you interrupted aaron who's really smart about music
[50:58]to tell that thing you're not gonna be polyamorous anymore it's gonna be just you and jenny again
[51:03]yeah yeah you're right we'll just keep that little fact that's the one thing holding me
[51:07]back from being polyamorous voices like michaels and princes are just so fluid moving between and
[51:14]even in marvin gaye too moving between singing on the voice and singing falsetto that i think
[51:19]when you talk about falsetto i think about the guys who did it full-time like again eddie kendrick
[51:24]or i don't know i should know i don't know the names of the singers in bands like the dramatics
[51:28]uh who who like that was what they did all the time do you think this is falsetto singing right
[51:33]that's
[51:37]it definitely is i'm not saying that it's not i'm just saying he's not one that i think of
[51:42]because his voice did that just came naturally and then he did the next thing
[51:47]and but i think that's because
[51:49]people who that was all they did see that's why i was blown away by all these quotes when you read
[51:53]reviews of the album is that everybody's like oh this falsetto is so beautiful and i was like yeah
[51:56]this is all we heard from off the wall on of michael jackson's all of his albums were tons
[52:01]of falsetto it was interesting because if you listen to him do like rock and robin or one two
[52:05]three or whatever he's got a much more motown type voice i just i don't want i don't want uh
[52:12]big mike 69 and in houston you're your best friend to get mad at us thank you um you know
[52:19]this album came out on august 10th of 1979 michael jackson didn't turn 21 until august 29th
[52:25]oh and so he was technically only 20. so funny speaking of mistakes in life rob you guys listen
[52:32]to this listen to the words on this i always thought the words the lyrics to this listen
[52:38]to this part of the song and tell me what the lyrics are to it will you just play this quick
[52:41]i'm melting yeah what's he melting like hot candles
[52:49]okay so i have an embarrassing thing to admit uh-oh russell's doing the one headphone thing
[52:54]again he's only wearing one headphone this is worse than the one headphone thing and this is
[52:59]why a woman could never swipe on me as a sapiosexual i like eliminated from her world
[53:04]in my mind i always heard that as i'm melting like hard candy i heard hard candy not hot
[53:13]candle wax well i can i can feel it and so and so play it again ralph let me let me this is
[53:19]hard candy not hot candle wax oh it's like the d4l classic laffy taffy where he says
[53:27]i thought it was like hard candy right what's he saying at the end like i'm melting like hard
[53:35]candies yeah well the problem is the problem isn't that i just got a mistake on it it's also
[53:41]that i set up my drink for the evening based on hard candy tonight yes and then so tonight i'm
[53:49]drinking a butterscotch white russian which has butterscotch schnapps baileys with salted caramel
[53:56]in it oh my half and half and tito's vodka so i'm drinking a butterscotch white russian because i
[54:03]thought this song was about hard candies and hard candies were butterscotches that is a sugar bomb
[54:09]russell you're gonna be awake the whole night you're not gonna go to bed till six o'clock tomorrow
[54:12]morning thanks thanks men's health reader comes with an insulin chaser so that's how you know it's
[54:19]a drink that's a bunch of bullshit i didn't get i have no candles but i've got this butterscotch
[54:23]so what are you gonna so what now what are you gonna do this extra butterscotch schnapps that
[54:27]you have around the house like i can only imagine what your bar looks like right now
[54:30]it's like tang butterscotch schnapps it's like just these terrible drinks that you have to buy
[54:36]for one little bit on the podcast that a lot of times i edit out quite frankly yes it's not good
[54:42]that's my roly-poly for next week is what the fuck should i do with this butterscotch i think
[54:49]on the rocks right i mean or put it in milkshakes yeah milkshake with some butterscotch schnapps
[54:54]yeah russell i'm coming over i can't i i cannot talk about schnapps anymore i had i've i've had
[54:58]an incident all right i have as well this is this is what the fast and furious franchise said
[55:05]rock with you let's see because he's in the later ones
[55:10]this is just to wrestle at wrestlemania 17 or something matt was it 28 no i have
[55:18]i think rock with you wrestled yeah i think rock with you wrestled with ogan are we into
[55:23]all right so that is now a sting that we have okay let's get back to rock with you
[55:34]so this was written by uh rod temperton who also wrote thriller he was the british guy who
[55:40]wrote thriller this got all the way up to number one in the charts and was the second single after
[55:45]don't stop till you get enough both of these are number one hits for him
[55:48]this is some of the greatest pop music ever recorded i think almost every song on this
[55:54]album has a parallel on thriller and almost every song in this album is better than its
[55:58]analog on thriller i would agree i think this album is better than thriller i think that's
[56:03]hey yeah all day out of here oh yeah for sure okay no no no no let's look at the let's look
[56:10]at thrillers let's look at thrillers list right now right save it for the end this isn't even
[56:14]this isn't even a discussion save it for the end oh my god that's so
[56:18]you're so right you're so right you're so right you're so right
[56:18]that's crazy i will say i think this album might have the best three start song start to any album
[56:24]we've listened to oh my god what the shit are you kidding me working working day and night like
[56:30]don't stop till you get enough and rock with you bangers number one hits russell okay you can't be
[56:35]like the grammys this year and ignore number one hits great one this is so good listen to the intro
[56:40]to this song grammy style grammy style so funny dissing number one tracks grammy style
[56:48]by the way this would have been my parody song jerking day and night so you can be thankful i
[56:52]didn't do that oh yeah we're glad that we came up with a hulk hogan song instead
[56:56]i love on this one you can hear so much of the african influence you can definitely hear that
[57:04]quincy was listening to fela cuti and tony allen and we listen to this i don't even know at all
[57:08]how can you not just want to bust it to this yeah every song so danceable i mean i don't even want
[57:18]to talk to you guys i literally just want to listen to this song normally when i'm getting
[57:21]set up for this podcast i listen to other music and this time i was listening to songs off this
[57:25]album it's they're so good david williams do his thing on the guitar russell are you a disco guy
[57:30]do you like this disco beat in the background or is this too flashy for you too fancy uh it's a
[57:36]little too 70s 80s for me it matt has an aversion to some of the slow i would call it yacht rockish
[57:44]type stuff the slow stevie wonder stuff i think i have an aversion to some of the disco stuff
[57:48]fair tough but fair then if you heard this music you wouldn't ask somebody to go get on the floor
[57:54]if i could get a cameo from the guy who played bass on this album i think i would do it
[58:04]like hey can you just play get on the floor bass line for me for a cameo that's funny i feel like
[58:10]cameo the band had entire albums based on just one track from this album word up yep one thing
[58:18]one thing i saw in this song is that there's a guy named grig feliganes he's the person i love
[58:25]coordinated he's the arranger for a lot of these songs am i right aaron and he also plays
[58:29]the keyboard and i think he plays the clavinet on this one we've talked about all these different
[58:33]he also played on songs in the key of life yeah yes we're a poly we're a poly piano
[58:38]podcast for sure yes and so aaron mentioned the songs in the key of life and we need to
[58:43]touch on that and the only way to touch on that is go through a list of the greatest songs ever
[58:48]that greg feliganes has performed on oh my god are you doing a greg feliganes list
[58:56]oh i love this man i have listened to oh russell this is so exciting
[59:03]oh my god a greg feliganes list matt and i are withholding judgment until we hear the list
[59:10]we'll see what we think of this list so it's not because i don't know who greg feliganes is okay
[59:15]so don't say that i definitely know who greg feliganes is i love it
[59:18]that diver right delightful aaron maybe before we get into some of the songs maybe you can fill
[59:24]our listeners in like he's played with lionel richie paul mccartney aretha clapton diana ross
[59:29]all sorts of people and i think he's played on all of michael jackson's famous albums am i right on
[59:35]that right and he got his start so i full disclosure i know him uh initially from quest
[59:41]loves podcast i'm just saying he got his start with a very famous artist when he was in college
[59:47]as an undergraduate and he was a very famous artist and he was a very famous artist and he
[59:48]was in new york going to college and then flew out to los angeles to audition and then was off
[59:54]and running with a very famous artist who i will not mention and he's a delightful man i love
[60:00]listening to all of his interviews yes he's played keys and done arrangements for so many people he's
[60:05]very talented and he's a really really fun guy to listen to so because i'm a smart dude that
[60:10]women want to swipe on if they're a sapiosexual i know that artist that aaron's talking about
[60:15]so the first song is if you guys remember going back to song
[60:18]in the key of life this is joy inside my tears he's playing the electric keyboard with stevie
[60:23]wonder yes he's the only other musician credited on this song with stevie wonder
[60:28]can you imagine playing keyboard with stevie wonder how stressful that would be yes right
[60:33]joy side okay so who the fuck are we talking about again you guys have mentioned his name
[60:40]in 30 seconds i forgot greg filling games greg filling games yeah if you can find any interview
[60:45]with him if you find his uh red bull music
[60:48]academy appearance on youtube it's all worth watching he's delightful oh god i watch it man
[60:53]i watch that every week together the next thing tomorrow right yeah i love red bull cat the next
[61:00]song on the list is by lionel richie it's all night long it's kind of a dance and pop song
[61:05]you guys remember this one oh yes so greg filling games is playing the synthesizer on this and he's
[61:12]also credited for gibberish vocals i've never seen gibberish vocals
[61:18]like we've seen hand claps we've seen finger symbols we've never heard of gibberish vocals
[61:24]before right yeah i get credit for that on this podcast a lot of time oh he's always in the
[61:28]credits for gibberish vocals gibberish vocals that and finger symbols next song on the list is
[61:36]you guys remember the brothers johnson this song is called stomp he plays the synthesizer on this
[61:41]song
[61:42]this is definitely disco adjacent too
[61:48]you
[61:48]yes absolutely right yeah i mean the brothers johnson that's got to make you think of that
[61:54]tent a little bit doesn't it yeah
[61:56]if you were polyamorous you could go with both of the brothers johnson right you wouldn't have
[62:03]to marry just one is that is that yes that is true why not yeah let's do it all right
[62:10]the brothers johnson and russ i feel like we've spent too much time on greg and what he's doing
[62:14]in like the 70s 80s with this disco we're gonna jump way ahead he's gonna jump way ahead
[62:18]he's also played the piano with adele this is all i ask with adele he's playing the piano here
[62:24]he's still quite young yeah when you see him interviewed
[62:27]this is him on the piano with a pretty strong strong tone
[62:34]wait the piano has a strong tone yeah he's playing very assertively you know
[62:42]yeah i knew that i knew what you meant
[62:47]rob's a dumb she sounds good too all right the last song on the list is by far the best
[62:54]and we've talked before oh sorry not a good time for it it's almost like i'm a dumb shit
[63:01]we've talked before about amazing karaoke songs matt says a ringo song is always the
[63:08]best karaoke song i think this is one of the best karaoke songs
[63:11]greg here plays the keyboards in the synthesizer on a song made
[63:17]famous by ray parker jr this is the ghostbusters theme song which he was big in
[63:22]listen to the synthesizer kick in right here
[63:27]yes all right this is the same guy that sound makes you want to dance for sure
[63:37]you need to do a solo that reminds us of ghosts do you have one he's like oh fuck yeah i do
[63:42]i mean this is associated if i was walking on the street and i heard that
[63:47]i'm gonna do a solo that reminds us of ghosts do you have one he's like oh fuck yeah i do
[63:47]i'd be like oh they're ghosts around like that's just the way it is did you guys know if this song
[63:51]instead of ray parker jr was originally offered to lindsey buckingham and he turned it down
[63:56]because he had just did the song holiday road she's on that movie vacation and he did not want
[64:04]to be known as a soundtrack artist so it went to ray parker instead isn't that awesome is uh matt
[64:11]where's ray parker jr on the list yes i'm looking he must be fine
[64:17]in the next couple weeks yeah i think so it's right before he's probably at 50 million just
[64:21]based on this song he's living in some mansion somewhere just collecting his ghostbusters
[64:25]royalties listen russell that is a great list about phil what was his name again um i gotta
[64:31]look at my track
[64:32]that was a great list but i gotta say how much did it destroy you when you typed in
[64:41]greg phil gaines and beck and nothing came and google said zero search results come back
[64:47]it had to rip your world apart i can only imagine matt said he was doing beck did it better tonight
[64:53]oh perfect man i can't wait all right let me know guys just like when uh i've got a bunch of
[65:00]wallpaper i want to get that off the wall the wall i said wall twice i should have think about
[65:04]so he's talking about how you're living off the wall i always thought off the wall was like
[65:12]an idea was off the wall like it's so crazy but he's saying like oh you're living off the wall
[65:17]like you're really living a crazy life and apparently this is about him and his younger
[65:21]life was so nuts that he was off the wall this is the one that to me and don't laugh rob reminds me
[65:28]of the titular track on thriller this is the titular track on this album as well but i would
[65:36]say it's it's it's definitely the the one that is the most a prelude to thriller yeah it has
[65:43]that same tone i think that's right kind of spooky a little bit spooky okay
[65:47]aaron's wife whatever your name is again i'm saying nice things aaron aaron good job
[65:51]you're gonna have to learn her name if you're gonna be polyamorous with her mom that's true
[65:55]that's a good point oh aaron's gonna yell that again i edited out the part earlier where i said
[66:00]i want to be polyamorous with everybody's wives because it got no response nobody laughed everyone
[66:05]looked kind of depressed actually like the idea that their wives would also marry me they're like
[66:08]oh that that would be the worst wouldn't it if your wife came back and was like hey here's this
[66:13]other guy i want to date and you saw him and he was just like a piece of trash and you're like
[66:16]is that what i'm like this is very bad is that the same guy who's been picking me on this podcast for
[66:21]37 weeks matt i remember you saying when we listened to thriller that it was a little too
[66:25]pristine and clean for you like every note was on point like you get the same vibe with this one or
[66:30]what are your thoughts on this album so far this seems i think it's much better album i don't know
[66:37]i'm with uh i think rob rosie did you both say that i think i would listen to this aka the dumb
[66:43]nine out of ten times over thriller and again
[66:46]i think it comes down i think i had this take on the prince album where it was a purple rain it's
[66:51]called purple rain the album thriller like if that didn't have the song thriller which i think is so
[66:56]overplayed and all i think about is halloween when i hear it it's a big i'd probably like that album
[67:01]better you know that was what we call the what rosie it was a big titular titular track big big
[67:09]huge yeah that was probably his biggest titular track i mean that's probably the biggest titular
[67:14]track we've seen
[67:15]you
[67:15]you
[67:16]like when i think of big titular tracks
[67:18]yeah is there any is there any bigger one gosh you know i'm gonna have to type that into google
[67:24]and see what it says big titular purple i'm gonna update my preferences on my bubble account right
[67:30]now big titular tracks man so listen russell we are saying this is a good album okay and then of
[67:39]course this song comes up so just let's just let's just take a little maybe just a little
[67:43]by the way you want to guess who we're talking about
[67:46]who wrote this song
[67:47]sir paul hello michael the girl is mine right exactly this is yeah this is this album's the
[67:55]girl's mind you can hear it it's right there okay so i like it i want you to listen to that again
[68:00]listen listen to him sing there because i'm gonna do a little comparison so paul mccartney wrote this
[68:04]song for him i think this song is a skipper but whatever it still is like funky listen i enjoy it
[68:10]listen to the guitar work on here so that's michael singing this right well it turns out that
[68:16]paul also recorded this with wings oh i want you to hear that need to hear it and you're going to
[68:22]hear how much bet what a talent michael jackson is listen to how much better his version is than this
[68:27]by the way i need the long intro because it's a funnier joke
[68:32]it's like whoa i mean i assume that's linda but
[68:40]yeah
[68:46]michael's version is so much better like it's
[68:48]like it's so strong he's got incredible
[68:55]and the arrangement's way better and i'm sorry paul but i like the bass better on this one
[69:03]yeah it's it's not even close there's just so much going on like aaron's got something to say
[69:10]uh i think this song sucks yeah
[69:14]oh aaron come on
[69:16]come on this isn't my favorite but you don't have to be like that
[69:19]that's what i'm gonna start calling my penis all right so now i'm in the board so i'm just
[69:22]playing around no wonder rob makes fun of you and your wife gets mad at him over
[69:26]russell i do want you to play this song next time you somebody gets in your car though
[69:30]on a date just look at him the first 112 times instead of you scrambling to find a radio station
[69:38]so guys this leads us to this next coincidence there is a song by paul mccartney and beck called
[69:45]find me back
[69:45]find my
[69:46]way and here it is listen to this it's paul mccartney and beck
[69:50]also a nice bass line this is pretty badass
[69:57]bob you did some good research here it's pretty funky yeah now are they both are they both singing
[70:04]on that one or not
[70:05]nice oh it looks at the drums let's see
[70:10]you never used to be afraid of days like these
[70:15]look at rob shaking his head in the zoom so you guys notice that paul mccartney and beck are both
[70:24]singing on the song so when it comes to songs on albums where both paul mccartney and the artists
[70:30]are singing beck did it better good work rob your research is amazing matt did definitely did not
[70:39]have to tee that up for you we did definitely did not have to pause so we could figure out how to make
[70:44]that work
[70:45]we no none of that happened we were talking about big titulars and then we came right into that it
[70:50]was a perfect transition uh we're fired up we're ready to go do you guys are you guys ready to hear
[70:56]a song that's 66 beats per minute and is the slowest michael jackson song ever recorded the
[71:00]saddest thing you'll ever hear him sing aaron's usually at about 66 beats per minute when he's
[71:05]thinking about titular tracks
[71:07]once in a while aaron will get going a little fast we get something about 72 beats per minute
[71:17]on the titular tracks russell that would be so hard to
[71:21]it would be so hard 66 beats per minute that's 1001
[71:27]i'm just glad russell you're the one who's making fun of rosie this week so you get yelled at
[71:37]next week i'm still in good favor did we talk about though that that that song was intended
[71:43]for sinatra and then he never recorded it and i still to this day wish that i could have heard
[71:48]sinatra sing that one i wonder if sinatra would do what michael did at the end of the song
[71:52]apparently they recorded this 8 to 11 times and each time at the end he did this
[71:56]oh lord we don't need to hear this
[72:04]and he said that's a real
[72:06]cry and michael said you got to keep that in that's that's my real emotions coming out to me it sounds
[72:11]like a kid who's like they're lying so hard that they have to cry to convince you that the lie is
[72:16]real they're like no it's true i didn't steal that money it was on the counter like they have
[72:22]to create you're like oh you're really lying with the cry and they looked up to the left at the same
[72:28]time busted i'm serious why don't you ever believe me it sounds like when the women i date tell me
[72:34]that they're polyamorous and not just cheating on me
[72:36]and i have to be like is that the truth or not i don't know what to believe yeah polyamorous or
[72:41]just cheating on me i don't know what the deal is aren't you ready for a russell mania
[72:44]and guys just like when i'm i'm jerking at 66 beats per minute and like
[72:51]this is i can't help it oh no okay
[72:56]it was written by stevie wonder right yes
[73:00]what was that didn't stevie wonder write one of the songs on thriller 2 or not
[73:06]i don't know tech guy oh shit i remember yeah maybe i did no research i think you can hear
[73:14]the herbie hancock influence in here too in the in in the keys i don't like i don't like what john
[73:19]hancock i don't like what erin's going at 66 beats per minute talking herbie hancock
[73:24]sounds like i know some jokes that are staying in there's a reason you get made fun of erin i don't
[73:30]know there's something about it to me you guys don't want that joke edited out keep making those
[73:34]jokes because that's what's going to happen that joke's gonna be right in there with the beep
[73:36]if you like it though you can't come talk to me later about editing all right it's the falling in
[73:42]love so here we kind of have a lull in the album now we're getting groovy again i read that this
[73:48]was written by david foster matt you mentioned david foster to me the other day who's david
[73:52]foster david foster how do you describe he's a canadian who i think when you look back on
[74:01]he is he is one of the most successful kind of singer
[74:06]well songwriters for other groups and so he's worked with like michael buble and he's worked
[74:12]with chicago and i love you know what i'm a big buble fan i love i'm a big big big buble
[74:19]the titular tracks of the buble albums are amazing like a match made in heaven i love it
[74:28]but erin keep that beat going a little slower you don't need to get it up over
[74:32]that's it it's in now i hope you're happy
[74:35]i hope you're happy with what this podcast has become we've talked about that uh what's the uh
[74:42]whitney houston movie where she sang that song bodyguard song ever bodyguard and he wrote what's
[74:47]the big song in that one that kevin costner ended up uh you know they didn't have it in there but
[74:52]kevin costner said we need a big and i will always love you by dolly parton yeah he's the one who
[74:57]rearranged that from dolly parton's uh way you know to what it is in in the movie and so songs
[75:04]like that so he's got his he's got his hands out a lot but that's pretty amazing to go from working
[75:08]with dolly parton songs to being a big buble guy like that that transition would be easy you know
[75:12]what i mean yeah yeah i know yeah his resume is pretty incredible he wrote i have nothing on that
[75:20]soundtrack too what else has he done what makes him so incredible he wrote for earth wind and fire
[75:24]he so the story so the story is is that like chicago um was basically like a failing band
[75:32]and then they're like wow we need somebody to come in and and figure this out right we need
[75:37]somebody to come in so he basically came in and just railroaded the whole group and said no what
[75:42]you guys are doing is crap right so you guys let's let's go over here you start right here
[75:47]let me rewrite this song yeah he basically wrote like their two albums so he's like he's like
[75:51]listen this song with all these words that make sense this sucks how about a song that goes 25
[75:56]to six to four and everybody goes yeah fuck yeah this is a great song 25 to six to four
[76:02]so like makes no sense so chicago 16 chicago 17 1982 1984 he basically came in and just said
[76:09]no here's how we're gonna do blah blah the band ended up hating him right this is horrible this
[76:14]is not chicago peter satara who went on to have a great career you know i sold the air
[76:19]they hit him all the way to the bank you know they hated him and then all of a sudden like
[76:24]these albums are just going to the moon so they're like well all right this isn't we don't i don't
[76:30]want to make this music but all right this guy made me rich kind of a thing so i don't know he
[76:34]he's clearly he's got a he's got an ear for music and what's what's popular um let me see who else
[76:39]we have josh groban uh groban those big boules somebody else some other people that he worked
[76:47]with but yeah i don't know he's nuts he's not this our final song and probably i think this
[77:00]is one of my favorite songs on the album burn this disco out
[77:03]and some people say oh disco in
[77:09]oh rob rob apologize for that that is over the line it's all getting edited out
[77:18]we found the line i mean this is so funky i would listen to a hundred songs like this in a row and i
[77:28]would never complain
[77:28]and this is one of my favorite songs on the album burn this disco out
[77:30]they slowed the tempo down on this one a little bit i don't know i mean we've been talking about
[77:33]beats per minute in a joke joking way but this is why quincy jones is the man listen yes
[77:40]this is how you end an album yeah you don't end it with these with these last like that chronic
[77:46]the ending on the chronic last time don't need this is how you set up an album banger banger
[77:51]banger number three greatest number three three songs in a row that we've had russell you agree
[77:55]with that because you're a cvo guy then you hit the shit that you got to put in because it's
[78:00]slow and it's whatever okay and then you end it with a banger it's the perfect setup i love it
[78:05]this is great yeah okay i'm gonna go through thriller song list ready russell listen to this
[78:11]no no last time we went through a list we had to cut out like an hour of the podcast
[78:15]want to be starting something baby be mine the girl is mine terrible thriller beat it billy jean
[78:21]oh yeah let's let's not craig through those human nature pyt okay but then but see then
[78:26]that album ended with leading the life so no this makes any sense that's up to us
[78:30]that's a real dog that's a dog all right it is time for us to get into our rating system
[78:35]that's the one time we didn't talk is when that dumb thing was playing
[78:54]all right so everybody knows our rating system everybody loves it we get lots of emails about it
[78:59]all the time is this
[79:00]album a rolling well toned that means it should be number 35 on the list uh is this album a rolling
[79:08]boned okay it shouldn't be 35 it should be way higher or is this album a rolling grown you guys
[79:15]don't like this at 35 the people at rolling stone magazine and the people who voted on this did a
[79:20]bad job it should be lower on the list this album get back there get to the back of this list we
[79:24]don't need you and of course that means that we would be going down the list but also getting a
[79:30]number so somehow going down and getting a bigger number which in a lot of places like a bank account
[79:35]uh is good but for example running a race you don't want to be a bigger number so this is kind
[79:40]of like a race we want to be a lower number and that's how we're going to do it uh matt what do
[79:44]you think of this album i think and to remind you it's rolling well toned rolling bone or rolling
[79:49]i don't know i forgot you talk if it's hard to say you know like how do you separate it
[79:55]like against thriller i think i think this album should be
[80:00]rated higher than thriller which means it has lower numbers that means thriller should have a
[80:04]bigger number but it's lower on the list exactly okay so against that it's hard to say but in
[80:10]general from everything we've listened to you know it feels like 35 is a great a great spot for this
[80:16]album altogether so i'm going to say it's rolling well toned overall russell what do you think rolling
[80:22]well toned rolling boned or rolling grown my initial impression was this was too high on the
[80:30]three songs being absolute pressures and i'm with you on the opening song don't stop till you get
[80:35]enough is amazing even though i got very confused on the language or the the lyrics and i've been
[80:41]drinking like a butterscotch old or butters thank god you didn't think the lyrics were battery acid
[80:46]like who knows what you'd be drinking russell and rock with you but like working day and night to
[80:51]claim this is the one of the third one of the best third songs ever on an album we've listened to is
[80:56]i just don't i disagree with that take is rolling boned
[81:00]yeah that take is rolling don't use my language against me yeah that take rob is too high wait
[81:06]too low on the you're out of the sapiosexual club russell but but what i was gonna say is i do i do
[81:13]not think this is as good as thriller thriller has thriller beat it billy jean back to back to
[81:17]back i think those three songs are better than every single song on this album but i will say
[81:23]you guys are all very smart dudes and if you think that this is rolling bone and should be higher on
[81:30]it i'm gonna put it at rolling well tone because if there's a woman out there that is a sapiosexual
[81:34]i do not want her swiping swiping left on me because i rated this too low so i'll say rolling
[81:39]well tone rosie what do you think i think is it rolling well tone is it rolling bone or is it
[81:46]rolling girl what do you just go through it you gotta keep talking i think this is some of the
[81:51]greatest pop music ever recorded it is uh an enormous group effort from a group of very talented
[82:00]producers arrangers composers including a guy his name is greg phil and gains here and have you
[82:08]heard of him i've i yeah i might have to look him up i might have to look him up and uh a vocalist
[82:13]who was right at the top of his game so i don't think there's a better pop album uh that we've
[82:20]heard or maybe that we will ever hear i think there are many better albums that i will always
[82:24]listen to instead of this one but this is so danceable and it's so good uh that i've got to
[82:29]say it's rolling well tone
[82:30]for right where it's at on the list all right the correct answer is it's a rolling quincy jones
[82:35]oh yes on the thriller album i said what does quincy jones do i have no idea and i got made
[82:41]fun of irl for something i said in the podcast people came up to me go you're an idiot if you
[82:45]don't know what quincy jones does after listening to this album i get it what does irl mean what
[82:49]does irl mean what the what the hell is that fancy new york talk in real life you don't
[82:53]racing league good luck with your polyamorous podcast i didn't have my wife to
[83:00]stick up for me for people saying stuff about me on the podcast uh so people came up to me and said
[83:04]how do you not know who quincy jones is you're an idiot and i was like oh listening to this album i
[83:09]totally get it like i that sound i heard on thriller i think aaron your point about it being
[83:13]analogous is brilliant i love it so i gotta say this is a rolling quincy jones and why would i
[83:18]repeat it why i've never repeated it to rosie was that a compliment rob i i retired what was that
[83:23]why i missed him what did you just say to aaron aaron's just he's rob's just caving he's caving
[83:30]to the pressures i didn't have my headphones on it just looked like it what did what did you say
[83:34]can you believe that russell brought up that stuff about the tent and we didn't bring up rosie at all
[83:38]that's insane to me i mean russell if your brother-in-law would be like yeah i'll say
[83:42]this tent but i'm also going to crawl out the window to go to the bathroom outside
[83:44]we gotta go shotgun some more beers inside all right next up we've got album 38
[83:52]blonde on blonde and wrong already done it russell name one song name one song off of blonde on blonde
[84:00]there's just a lot of harmonica if i remember correctly uh and then 39 it's one of my favorite
[84:06]bands question mark even though i've never actually heard them it's talking heads remain
