Beck Did It Better Podcast 1997
About this episodeThis is becoming a Radiohead podcast! We are covering OK Computer on the podcast this week and listening to what many consider to be one of the top albums of all time!Β  Russ has yet another disaster of a date with the serial returner and we talk about etiquette when out to eat when dating vs. when you are married. Matt is talking about his little league coaching and Rob touches on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Then we listen to our second Radiohead album and we chop it up! No one is still reading this so why do I bother? Just listen or not. Either way, we judge ourselves by downloads so be

[00:00]in 2020 four friends decided to listen to every one of the greatest 500 albums as decided by

[00:06]rolling stone magazine this resulted in a text chain that celebrated the music excoriated the

[00:12]order and led to us making this podcast we are far from experts and we promise to do almost no

[00:17]research all opinions are our own unless you disagree please sit back and enjoy beck did it

[00:23]better we are up to album 42 it is the 1997 alternative hit okay computer bye

[00:30]radiohead row radiohead was correct they saw the future even back in 1997 when rob was in high

[00:36]school being a cool guy and aaron was in high school being a real fucking loser radiohead

[00:41]knew they were going to be dependent on technology and now the computers have taken over computers

[00:46]are now the host of this podcast in fact computers are so much in charge that i need to watch humans

[00:51]to jack it what a crazy robber world let's turn on krob it is my favorite radio station i am a

[00:58]computer that still listens

[00:59]to the radio

[01:00]if you want to hear about the greatest albums of all time

[01:08]but you're just too lazy to look it up online

[01:14]this is amazing if you want to hear the guys who chat and then they get off track

[01:20]this makes you like this album even better doesn't it

[01:22]this is the best part of the album

[01:25]all right

[01:28]all right

[01:29]so i've got three guys here who keep pronouncing it thom yorkie

[01:36]i've got matt in minneapolis matt how are you doing i'm doing great rob i'm doing gucci good

[01:41]i got russ in minneapolis russ how are you doing rob could you please stop these robot noises i'm

[01:46]trying to get some rest from all the unborn chicken voices in my head i was thinking about

[01:51]i could just do the whole podcast of that robot voice it just hit different sound clips it'd be

[01:55]like aaron you're a dumb shits shut up like writing stuff that was mean to aaron and a

[01:59]robot voice made me laugh so hard oh it was so good and i've got aaron over here in california

[02:05]and he thinks that radio head sounds like the best partner ever

[02:08]i mean it's i don't know it's not that i wrote pause for laughter if you can think about it

[02:14]you don't care what you say just say hi so you're going there yeah i'm great it turns out that i've

[02:19]been following the advice from fitter happier all along no more microwave dinners so everything's

[02:23]good here all right so we are going to go right from the robo talk to a voicemail so stupid

[02:29]i can kiss my ass dumb shit listeners they can't even tell what we're doing

[02:33]godly listeners are dumb shits they're just the dumbest of the dumb i don't know why we don't

[02:37]have more downloads hey gentlemen close personal relative of aaron's here hey i was listening to

[02:44]the the stardust episode and matt mentions in there a couple things one uh he mentioned that

[02:50]he wasn't aware of the backstory of the album until you guys began recording uh he also

[02:54]mentioned that we need more pearl jam on the podcast which is a thing i agree with but i'm

[02:58]just curious uh i'm just curious about the backstory of the album until you guys begin

[02:59]i'm not sure if you guys have sent matt like a list of when you'll be recording and what you'll

[03:03]be recording uh seems like a little more preparation might be nice so put that together

[03:08]in excel spreadsheet for him and let him know um it might help him be more prepared so uh thanks

[03:12]for everything guys okay listen first of all there's a couple things i like about this call

[03:16]number one i do like being very specific on burning on somebody on the podcast i think that's

[03:20]great i think all of our callers should do that i think it sets us off on a good mood when we're

[03:25]all like staying up too late thinking about how we're ignoring our families doing this podcast

[03:29]uh and i also like the idea that it was like short like it was a nice short voicemail i think

[03:36]it's good however you could not have picked a worse time before the let it bleed album that's

[03:41]going to come out next week where matt literally did the entire podcast and knew everything

[03:45]and to come out and burn on matt for not talking enough before his big uh before his big i want to

[03:51]say birth but that's not the right word it's also a bit of inside baseball the caller seems to seems

[03:57]to be aware of who who's really good at data mining on this podcast and i think that's a good

[03:59]podcast and who's not so i think the caller is uh this is uh i'll tell you this i'll tell little

[04:05]rose and why do they call him little rosie i just i don't know i'll tell them this that

[04:12]when you guys start texting like tomorrow that oh this is a great album or oh this is such a good

[04:17]you know and i i could care less about the next album you know i just kind of give up and just

[04:21]say you guys can handle it right you let it go but when we've got these other albums where you

[04:25]guys are like i can't listen to this album one more minute before the pot you know all this stuff i'm

[04:29]and i like them like last week let it bleed this i like this one this week you know i'm happy to

[04:35]pull my weight every once in a great while but i don't we really don't need four people looking at

[04:40]wikipedia and then trying to talk over each other with how many facts that we know we just need one

[04:45]or two of those a week i think that's true that's my take if you guys want to wake me up at the

[04:49]closing credits of this one i'm happy to be that guy this week it is funny to see everybody's mood

[04:55]shift throughout the week when we're getting texts of like i think i sent one the second day where i

[04:59]this is a kind of a more accessible album than kid a and like no response whatsoever

[05:04]it's because i had to listen the next day but then i used the word chock-a-block in a text

[05:09]i said it was chock-a-block with guitars i was really proud of myself i'm trying to get into the

[05:12]british mode here see so people this is what we're dealing with in real life it's not just on the

[05:17]podcast we also get texts that we have to like play you know i think at work i played my left

[05:24]field take for aaron it was it was an easy one so listen keep on calling and tell us things that

[05:29]we haven't talked about in the last few episodes ago and we're definitely going to be respectful to

[05:31]you when we call and we think it's great but matt you really i mean you hammered it i was listening

[05:36]back when i was editing into that let it bleed man you just you i edited so much stuff out of me

[05:40]which i'd never normally do but you just really you crushed it last time so nice work and i will

[05:45]say that episode really picked up at the end and i realized what it was i just started making fun

[05:49]of aaron again like i feel bad because i've started now also making fun of aaron over text message

[05:54]like he texted us tonight i lost a zoom link and i just wrote back too bad and i laughed and i laughed

[05:59]and i said you're gonna miss me we'll get to that when we get to star time star time

[06:08]so let's get into everyone's rolling going

[06:12]it's time to see what everybody's up to it's time for rolling going

[06:22]oh yeah all right aaron what is your rolling going

[06:29]i've got i got so many once again what oh i thought you said you liked it i love it yeah

[06:36]the button broke i can't turn it off just go ahead it's fine well i had to take a break from

[06:40]listening to the shot a just to get in this uh so you guys are you really should be proud and

[06:45]blessed that i'm here blessing with my presence because i took a break from the shot a box set

[06:49]which i finally scored yesterday they remastered this thing at half speed so rob i really think

[06:54]that you should consider this maybe slow down slow all of the episodes down to half speed before you

[06:59]it i think oh my god so far it's paying dividends in my listening hey slowing that down to half

[07:04]speed is not an efficient way to go through that part of life you gotta keep that going at the

[07:08]regular pace you slow it down too much at a medium way too long a medium pace is way too long i was

[07:14]thinking i should just move this podcast to 1.5 speed because that's what all our listeners do

[07:17]anyway it's just like i might as well just put it out that way yeah i think we should just

[07:24]right now if you're on a podcast player right now imagine what rob is doing

[07:29]right now at this medium pace if you are listening to this podcast right now

[07:36]if you are listening to this podcast

[07:44]oh yeah that's what i say i need some privacy why don't you guys laugh at my jokes i don't like all

[07:58]these quotes where it's like oh my god i need some privacy i need some privacy i need some privacy

[07:59]sounds like i'm desperate and attention seeking that's crazy i'm watching a vr concert leave me

[08:05]alone put it on the spin cycle

[08:12]i was gonna say if you're listening to this podcast set it to 0.5 speed and just think about

[08:21]just have your brain melt for a little bit fuck you uh just really have it like listen to that

[08:25]and see what it's like but then you guys are doing the slow motion so nobody's gonna do that

[08:28]that'd be insane to listen to so

[08:29]rosie i'll ask i'll ask yeah you got the the shawday came out with a new box album and they

[08:35]they decided to slow down the songs right now that doesn't mean that her voice gets slowed down i mean

[08:42]right or how does that work it's so it's a technique yeah no it's a technique so this is

[08:46]all six of shawday's studio albums now remastered to vinyl released in one box set and when they did

[08:53]the remastering what they do is slow everything down to do the remastering and then and apparently

[08:59]they do that when they actually press the vinyl and then when they release it it's all back up to

[09:03]regular speed but something about slowing it down they can hear things that they couldn't hear before

[09:07]so i think it sounds fantastic is it true that they do this when they're mastering it to eight

[09:11]tracks as well so you could say that they're master eating really slow i mean i think that's

[09:18]kind of some lingo that you might hear in the biz or whatever but it's yeah i think when you're

[09:22]listening to shawday i think master eating really slow is the way to do it but i was really i mean

[09:27]the technicians called a master

[09:29]rater yeah exactly yeah head master head master rater you should see my brain working for that

[09:36]joke but i actually got i got two other things i wanted to talk about one is i actually have

[09:40]a book recommendation for our listeners for this this album uh it is the alchemy wars trilogy by

[09:46]is it true that your book recommendation is you want us to go out and buy those dr seuss books

[09:50]that were canceled you don't think it's a good idea that those got canceled you thought that

[09:55]you like the images you don't have to break you thought they were just fine you didn't think it

[09:59]was a big deal and you don't like that dr seuss is getting canceled you want us to go buy those so

[10:03]that's your book heavily edited in our house the book recommendation is the alchemy wars trilogy

[10:08]charlie daniels not looking great in your back here

[10:14]ian trigillus who turns out to be a university minnesota grad in a house i will not

[10:20]and it's a rob yeah a trilogy about uh robots who but they're robots from the pre uh pre-industrial

[10:29]revolution turns out they're made out of clocks and the dutch have figured out some alchemy that

[10:32]can bring clocks to life and they make robots to be slaves which if you're thinking about this uh

[10:38]perhaps the dutch we're talking about some heavy allegories here the dutch as it relates to the

[10:42]slave trade uh it turns out maybe these uh robots actually have free will so i thought about it a

[10:46]lot when i was hearing the song paranoid android i really recommend it for any of our listeners who

[10:50]know how to read that's probably less than five of you uh no i know i know at least one person who

[10:56]has taken one of your book recommendations about their

[10:58]husband one of your i don't remember which book i couldn't tell you one of your recommendations

[11:03]i wasn't listening but i apologize but i know one person has so that's great you are spreading

[11:08]the knowledge rosie and then the last thing i wanted to say is i saw two crows chasing a hawk

[11:13]in the sky the other day and i googled it and it turns out it turns out that crows will go after a

[11:19]hawk aaron's wife at gmail.com to email me and say that i shouldn't make fun of him for following up

[11:24]his smart story with two crows chasing a hawk i mean that's like shit that little

[11:28]kids look at they're like if my kids came up to me and said hey dad i saw two crows chasing a hawk

[11:33]i would be like oh that's really interesting oh that's really cool they are 10 or one's 12

[11:39]one's 12 and one's nine maybe i'm not sure i'm sorry aaron go ahead tell us no wait tell us your

[11:45]story about the hawk that's it that's the whole story i saw two crows chasing a hawk and i thought

[11:48]can i really believe my eyes here do crows go after a hawk and i googled it and it turns out

[11:53]they do so shout out to crows for defending their territory

[11:58]aaron's rolling going or like the raiders picks of an nfl draft where you know every year they

[12:03]take some guy no one's ever heard of never just like like this is the writers this is aaron's

[12:09]rolling going this is our lives i'm trying to think if there's a background music that'll make

[12:13]that story any good i'm looking through all my song clips i'm not sure hockey talk man all right

[12:19]let's try it that's better hey there's two crows chasing a hawk crows listen to and they get fired

[12:26]up to chase the hawks let's check out

[12:28]that's what i that's what he calls his penis rob that's a good one i like that

[12:34]oh wait that was the wrong one where did that even come from i'm not sure

[12:39]that's what i'm gonna start calling my penis that's literally the extent of your story

[12:43]and this is the part where i go back and go back on a story then i always edit it out later

[12:47]and then i think to myself when i'm editing why do i keep going back and bringing up

[12:50]the story again when i know i'm gonna edit it out but i can't help myself i want more

[12:54]details about this hawk and crow story i mean nature is fascinating i just i

[12:58]really couldn't believe my eyes and then when i looked it up it turns out this is a common

[13:01]occurrence i didn't know that aaron baton 100 aaron what time in the afternoon do you normally

[13:06]start using medical marijuana i usually wait till after the podcast because it just puts me to sleep

[13:12]odds of odds of aaron partaking in in chemicals before he saw the crows of the hawk

[13:18]one thousand percent he's telling his kid he's like air in or air out he's like listen the

[13:23]robots are clocks and the kid's like dad look at those look at those crows chasing the hockey's

[13:27]like whoa that's a good one i'm not sure i'm gonna believe my eyes and then when i looked up

[13:28]uh roland going russell how's it going with you it's going pretty well i i wanted to run a few

[13:38]things by you guys see what you think on how you would handle certain situations so i might need

[13:42]to go and get some advice if that's all right let's hear from you now we gotta keep getting

[13:48]out of the corner we keep going in but i keep forgetting that we gotta hop out oh i've been

[13:52]sitting in the corner of my house for the last 18 weeks it's been terrible and not only that

[13:56]it's been kind of inception because we've been going around the corner for the last 18 weeks

[13:58]going into the corner of the corner of the corner so the corner is just getting smaller and smaller

[14:02]hey rob i'm in i'm in the second level can we go into one more level of the corner this is legit

[14:08]here oh get get get all the way into the it's time oh my god you see what i just saw in the

[14:14]corner it was three crows chasing the hawk yeah it's the sequel there all right the thing i need

[14:23]to bring up with you guys and get your advice on something the general theme of the question is

[14:28]when you go to a restaurant are you a walker or are you a talker meaning if they screw something

[14:34]up do you walk away and just take whatever they give you or do you say something about it are you

[14:39]a walker or are you a talker so i thought i would give you guys a few scenarios just to see how do

[14:44]you handle something when you get something in a restaurant that isn't correct and matt

[14:48]i know you owned a restaurant or a franchise at one point so you may have a different viewpoint

[14:52]on this but the first i will say every day i wake up and i do 300 sit-ups and

[14:58]a bunch of push-ups so i am kind of a herschel walker

[15:00]i'm trying so hard that is not a good joke yeah there's either three of our mics aren't working

[15:12]or that was bad oh no it's on okay we're here good yep live all right it's a hot so remember

[15:17]when i'm when i'm throwing these topics out there this may be something that has happened in my

[15:22]dating life and i didn't know how to react to it so the first one is let's say you guys order or

[15:28]a steak and they order it a specific way done so it's medium well or medium and it comes out and

[15:35]it's not precisely the way they wanted do you say anything are you a walker or are you a talker let

[15:40]me ask is it overcooked or undercooked a little bit overcooked so let's say you order it someone

[15:45]orders it medium well and it comes out a little well oh and there's a complaint what do you think

[15:49]come on there's no difference between well done you're savage if you send it back yeah and you're

[15:56]a prick if you do it i'm sorry

[15:58]so i made i may know a person that sent one back recently because there was not a small pig line

[16:03]and i did not know how to react like i was i wanted to crawl away into the booth of our

[16:08]and die i think if you're if you're dating somebody who's that picky russell that might

[16:13]that might be an indication there's gonna be problems down the line you dodged a bullet

[16:16]you dodged a book yeah i mean the thing is if you ordered it hey the bullet's not

[16:20]dodged and it came out media it came out medium or came out a little bit rare you can ask him go put it back

[16:28]on like will you put it back on for me please like just a little bit like that's okay but you can't say

[16:32]nope overcooked give me a brand new one so this was if you ordered a medium well it's gonna be

[16:37]gray all the way through that's what it is like yeah and like that person better have a meat

[16:40]thermometer in their pocket and they better take the temperature and tell you that they wanted it

[16:44]at 145 instead of 154 like forget it like once you get beyond medium it's all gray aaron here

[16:51]comes a joke that our whole crowd also thought i was gonna say but hey check out this meat

[16:55]thermometer in my pocket

[16:58]i've been told it's medium rare medium not well it's medium medium it's not well done i'll just put

[17:06]it that way so then what happens if on the same plate of food there also just happens that maybe

[17:13]the vegetables aren't quite warm enough so now you have a a steak that is not that is overcooked

[17:20]and vegetables that are not warm enough what are your thoughts do you send it back do you say

[17:24]anything or not russell i think we should just all

[17:28]stop you dodged the biggest bullet you've ever dodged in your life can you imagine going on a

[17:34]second oh my goodness you figured it out this is like you know you're asking we asked last week

[17:38]about three minutes or i don't know a couple weeks ago about how do you judge people like

[17:41]find the three minutes like this is the perfect scenario and that person failed big time i mean

[17:47]this is no you gotta walk to the next table if anyone's free for free to hang out at that table

[17:51]doesn't matter is this a hundred dollar steak that they're eating no and let's say at one point i know

[17:57]normally you take a hundred dollar steak and you take a hundred dollar steak and you take a hundred

[17:58]to chili's or whatever but where are we where are we talking about here and let's say in a

[18:01]hypothetical scenario this was like just a kind of normal nicer bar restaurant not a hundred dollar

[18:07]steakhouse where they are expected to have it on point and let's say you're sitting there with them

[18:12]and at some point you start to become incredibly uncomfortable because they're calling out every

[18:17]single thing on the tray is wrong to the waiter and the manager and at some point you're just

[18:23]like shrinking in your chair because you don't what are you going to do you can't stop anyone

[18:27]from doing it and you're just like what are you going to do you can't stop anyone from doing it

[18:28]but at some point do you stand up and say like i just met this person online i don't know this

[18:32]person at all i don't vouch for them in any way i mean do you at some point just lift the veil and

[18:37]just say like look this is an online date and tell the waiter like hey listen i'm this is an online

[18:43]date this is going terribly can you i'm so sorry like i actually yeah i would do that yeah somehow

[18:47]do that slip another 10 slip them 20 bucks say sorry can you imagine you go home with this person

[18:52]russell and you take off your pants and they just look at you like what are they gonna say

[18:58]you know what i mean like the vegetables are too cold like but i guess on the other hand if they're

[19:02]like oh that's you know let's just say too big like let's say that's something they say and my

[19:07]kid my kid just let the dog in right when i said that but so let's just say too big so that's

[19:13]something she can talk about a therapy but let's just say too big like maybe you'd be like well

[19:16]they're really picky so maybe it's like yeah i guess that's true you made it through the gauntlet

[19:20]like i'm with rob yeah i just think you standing there they'd be like send that back to the kitchen

[19:26]please and so then it gets set up and you're like oh my god i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry

[19:28]send in a hypothetical world this is hypothetical of course of course let's say your food is out

[19:33]and there's they send everything back everything that's come out everything goes back now i just

[19:39]have to sit there and wait and so i decide okay i'm just gonna sit and wait because i'm a walker

[19:44]not a talker and if my food is cold or overcooked i just deal with it all right yeah what's going

[19:49]on with you your food's just sitting on the plate this is you just win this is on this is on your

[19:52]date russell they need to tell look hey go ahead no go ahead eat yep go ahead yeah i need to know

[19:58]what russell ordered this is important to me because if there were french fries involved you

[20:01]have to eat those when they're fresh you can't wait on that aaron you're fucking thinking you

[20:05]are a genius you're the smartest male line do i have a song clip on here that is aaron's is so

[20:09]smart let's see definitely not nope i don't think we have that one i don't that's what i'm gonna

[20:15]start calling i don't know russell what did you order there was no french fries involved i i

[20:23]ordered some salmon and some vegetables so there was no fries involved so i felt like i was just

[20:28]i just wanted to i wanted to avoid any sort of uh scene or anything in the restaurant and not have

[20:35]anything be reheated other than what was already being asked to be sent back

[20:39]i might as well join in just send yours back to be like ah fuck it send that back and so then

[20:45]the final question the final thing that comes with this is i don't know if you guys ever take

[20:51]your wives out and you order wine i don't know if you guys are wine drinkers maybe matt i could see

[20:54]you and your wife ordering some wine all you guys i could see that when you guys are wine drinkers

[20:58]they bring out the wine and you go through the whole scenario they pour the little bit in the

[21:02]glass you do this you smell it you taste it you say yeah it's good what if someone were to say

[21:07]sums it up no this tastes a little tangy this is not right what would you think of that

[21:11]why would you do russell why would you do that yeah i had boss and i do that once where we were

[21:20]out to dinner at a place somewhere in saint paul and he sent a bottle back and you're supposed to

[21:25]you know i had no idea this is

[21:28]ignorant me growing up in mean streets of richfield right like why do you never send a

[21:33]bottle of boone's farm back you know why did why do you need a little why do you need to test well

[21:37]apparently wine can go bad and it could taste like vinegar right if it turns it's vinegar that's the

[21:41]only reason for that testing thing not if you like the taste or don't like the taste it's just

[21:45]if the bottle's turned and that rarely rarely happens but it's just one of those fancy things

[21:50]and so you don't if you don't like the taste or something like that you don't send it back that

[21:56]is this dumbest most selfish

[21:58]prick move that anybody could do ever it's so bad i'm going to take just a wild guess russell

[22:04]was this girl a nine or a ten because she's striking me right now it's like a nine on the

[22:10]look scale or a ten on the look scale because pull this shit you gotta look good like so so

[22:16]to be fair to be fair the wine was not sent back but there was a request to bring out two glasses

[22:21]to sample them and then there was comment about one not being right wait so did you buy a bottle

[22:28]or she bought a glass

[22:28]we might just need to move on no no no so you bought a bottle and then she asked for two sample

[22:35]glasses no no no on our on our attempt to decide what bottle we were going to get oh my god they

[22:41]opened up at first i just wanted to get two glasses and i said you pick which one of the two you try

[22:45]and both pick which one you like i'll do the other one that wasn't good enough so there had to be an

[22:51]asking of a sampling and really in my mind i'm just like well this is on camera you had to have

[22:56]been on camera this had to have been a tv

[22:58]show i'll tell you the one thing that ever worked for me in this kind of scenario and we don't we're

[23:02]not going to make this aaron's wine podcast because we i drink wine every day so we're not

[23:06]going to get into my specific theories or after you do the other chemicals before you watch the

[23:10]hawks before wine's usually around like a 5 p.m kind of a thing we've been we've been meaning to

[23:15]have a conversation on my 10th wedding anniversary on our 10th wedding anniversary we went out i had

[23:20]10 drinks so before before the after drink 10 drinks yeah yes we went nuts on our 10th anniversary

[23:28]uh because we were going to go to tahiti and then we had a baby and so it was like well we're not

[23:32]going to tahiti we'll go out in oakland and get crazy uh so hold on so so hold on so you your wife

[23:39]isn't drinking at all and you just go get hammered no no no no no the baby was uh six he was like

[23:45]eight months old at the time we were both drinking okay yeah we were both out it was like it was like

[23:49]let's go out and get crazy aaron's wife at gmail.com was home with the baby and aaron was out

[23:52]having 10 drinks all his life it was a crazy anniversary of my life but i did so we went he

[23:57]said at stakes but i didn't drink at all i didn't drink at all i didn't drink at all i didn't drink

[23:58]back left and right we went to the after after bar and i ordered two glasses of sparkling and i

[24:04]ordered the wrong glass and brought it back to the table this is our 10th anniversary and she

[24:09]kind of looks at me like oh i thought i ordered the rosΓ© obviously it's our 10th anniversary i'm

[24:14]gonna like do whatever i can to fix it so i went back to the bar i said to them i didn't drink out

[24:19]of this he hadn't gone home yet right so but i ordered i ordered the wrong glass of wine would

[24:24]someone behind the bar drink this and could i get the other one and that

[24:27]was all it took they were like yeah man thanks for being cool about it they went ahead and

[24:31]switched it out and gave me the other one so you gotta like try to but but you always have to walk

[24:35]to talk to the bartender if you can like that's what you gotta do if you're nice if you're just

[24:39]nice just be nice to people right right follow the sword hey this is completely my mistake

[24:44]that is one nice thing about living in new york city is that if you are slightly nice

[24:51]you are like super nice you know what i mean like you're like the nicest guy in the world if you're

[24:57]walking to a store and you say hi to somebody like oh are you talking to me yeah their mind

[25:03]is blown by the mid by like normal midwestern niceness they can't handle it whatsoever that's

[25:08]kind of like living in the midwest if you're just slightly overweight you can say you're above

[25:12]average oh yeah well that's my other joke is like in the midwest i'm rude but i'm thin so it's

[25:16]perfect you kind of look like ravishing rick rude with that mustache this is a visual joke

[25:22]rob's kind of got a ravishing rick rude mustache going on right now no aaron keep making visual

[25:27]jokes do you want to make any other jokes i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't

[25:27]know any other visual jokes that our listeners aren't going to listen to we finally got text

[25:31]from people saying hey i kind of liked that last episode now aaron's visual jokes uh russell i

[25:36]gotta say you can attach some tennis balls to the bottom of me because i am a walker it turns out at

[25:40]the restaurant you know what i mean you're a walker huh yeah big time i get it i get it

[25:45]if if i can eat it or if i can drink it you know like i hate onions on pizzas kind of a thing

[25:53]right so if pizza comes out and it's got onions on it i just can't eat the pizza i say

[25:57]look i didn't i ordered this without can i get another one you know like let me know what i can

[26:02]do my bad and they say oh no no you already you know you try stuff like that then i and then i

[26:06]send it back but if it's a little undercooked little overcooked little something you know or

[26:11]if you order a drink right and it's like hey i wanted the summit epa and they come out with

[26:15]coors light right like just drink the coors light you're fine right you'll be okay and a summit at

[26:22]that point just slam the coors and then get a summit after i also adopt the theory of saying

[26:26]it's fine and just take it and i'm like okay i'm gonna take it and i'm gonna take it and i'm gonna

[26:27]it and moving on yeah yeah i i will say my wife is probably the one of the pickiest people i know

[26:33]when we go out to eat but she's very clear at the beginning like i want this and i want this

[26:37]on the side and i want this but i've never had her send back a meal i've sent back one meal in

[26:41]my entire life and it was so salty i couldn't eat it i don't remember it was like some pasta

[26:46]and it was just like literally like and i said listen i'm so sorry i never have done this but

[26:50]i gotta send this back it's just too salty they said oh no big deal but i felt terrible like it

[26:54]was like a mate it was like a stress moment for like five minutes i had to think about it

[26:57]but the real question is is not what when you send stuff back it is what would you do if you

[27:03]were out with someone and your wife matt let's say she wasn't having it you just you just sit

[27:09]back and let it happen or what how do you deal with that mentally this is this is a whole different

[27:14]world it's a whole different world this is pre-marriage stuff this is the stuff you go on

[27:18]you know somebody told me you got to go on vacation with your significant other before

[27:23]you pop the question things like that you got to spend like a four or five days just you got

[27:27]some foreign area for you you know like you're you're in a hotel so you've got to do these these

[27:33]are just these are all tests that's great sarah would have done that on a on a you know we were

[27:37]out on a date and started or she's rude to people like that and same with me if i would have she

[27:42]would have you know kicked my ass to the curb but no these are all this is this is all one big test

[27:47]russell yeah you never failed matt you never asked her to put that spoon in the dishwasher

[27:52]before on that vacation though did you that's so good you know it's one of those things where like

[27:57]face to face with her you know like i don't say things but when i'm not you know when she's you

[28:02]know in the background there you know i talk i talk to you guys i'll tell you what jenny could

[28:06]be in a restaurant she she could get up on the table and take the world's biggest shit and i'd

[28:10]be like okay that's fine i'm not gonna say anything you just don't russell like i have

[28:14]never said anything to her i'm like i'm gonna tell her what to do and then it turns out well

[28:18]for me at all that has never once worked i'm not saying tell anyone what to do i would never do

[28:23]that either but like what do you do you just kind of sit and listen or do you like shrink

[28:27]in your chair what do you do rob at this point at this point why is your wife taking dumps on

[28:31]the table like she's uh she loves to do it have you met her i said i said sweetie it's

[28:37]dunkin donuts and she was like oh i misread the sign um but the thing is is like at this point

[28:44]like in my marriage now if i am being quiet that means i'm avoiding a conflict that's what it

[28:50]means like i just sit there and if i don't say anything that means i'm avoiding a conflict

[28:53]because i know if i say what i'm thinking it's going to cause big problems and i don't need big

[28:57]problems we've got that too they're the silence yep sarah doesn't like the science she knows that

[29:02]i'm you know nodding in my head and i've got i've got things that might might pop out but

[29:07]the the the amount of trouble i get in if i'm just quiet as opposed to if i start talking then it's

[29:13]like i it's almost like i just got to go away for yeah i have to go for a walk or something like

[29:18]that but yeah i'm with you rob the silence you're kind of in trouble with the silence but it's not

[29:23]nearly as bad as what what would happen if you open your mouth i realized when i was about

[29:27]33 that my dad never ever says what he thinks or gives advice unless he's asked directly

[29:33]and i was like that is such good that's such a good way to do it because people normally don't

[29:39]want your advice unless they ask they don't care they don't care what you think it never matters

[29:44]and when you give advice not asked everyone hates it all the time nobody's ever like oh

[29:48]that's very helpful thanks for telling me that you know you know where that really comes in though

[29:52]is it's really good when people you know especially like every four years

[29:57]when you get a new presidential election when people what are we doing you know when you

[30:01]when they want to give you their political views like that's really helpful yeah you're really

[30:05]going to change my mind with all your thoughts so and now aaron has the stop the steal poster up

[30:09]it's too easy well thanks for that advice guys hopefully i'll be able to use that the next time

[30:17]a snake gets sent back so rob rob can you get me out of the corner we need to remember to let me

[30:21]out of the corner let's get out of this corner shit guys you can call me chuck norris apparently

[30:27]i'm a walker

[30:27]get out of the corner don't fall asleep in this corner because then the time is running different

[30:36]at the corner above you and then if you erin go watch those crows and the hawk again just go watch

[30:42]the crows and the hawk my concept of online dating is russell like just it's just a cut of russell

[30:47]waking up with different women every morning just woman after woman after woman the reality when

[30:52]russell tells us about his dates is so different it's like just somebody sending back a plate every

[30:56]time you just see russell

[30:57]shrinking in his chair getting lower and lower and lower but it's good content for the podcast

[31:03]russell so keep it up i'm starting to realize that i'm the i'm the common part of the equation

[31:07]in the disasters here and maybe i need to look in the mirror i would i i i don't think it'd be

[31:13]crazy if you got up and walked out of that date in the middle you're like oh i got a call for my

[31:16]podcast like no this just isn't working right you're too much you're too much guess who i'm

[31:21]gonna send back you uh matt no

[31:27]uh good you know things are going well all right so let's do it you guys are talking about all this

[31:34]time travel i watched i watched the movie tenant last night it's on hbo oh that's a nolan movie

[31:39]we're talking about yeah we're talking inception that's a nolan movie right did you see the sequel

[31:43]11 11 and i'm here for this though matt i haven't watched this one yet is it worth the investment

[31:49]because nolan sometimes to me is like i don't know if you like that stuff then yeah but you

[31:53]probably need to see it like three or four times to completely understand it okay or i think that's

[31:57]you would be okay reading it's a time travel thing and they go back and then all of a sudden

[32:02]you know if you go too far you can't go back and if you're walking forward the winds at your back

[32:06]and if you're you've held your hand up to a fire it's actually cold and you can't it got to it got

[32:12]too much for me you know i don't know i was kind of tired so i wasn't really paying attention it's

[32:17]it's a it's a confusing movie but it seems pretty darn good but i think the actor isn't it is that

[32:22]denzel washington's kid isn't his son is his name john david or something right now i don't know

[32:27]right is that who it is john david yeah that's the same guy he was in the show the with the rock

[32:33]what's the miami the entourage show ballers it's that guy yeah yeah he does a phenomenal job he'll

[32:39]be he'll be around for a long time he's a great actor so yeah he's good um so i watched that but

[32:43]you know time travel thing i don't know if anybody's into that stuff i like a couple things

[32:48]um minnesota we we've hit our two-week window where it's nice to sit outside in the patio

[32:54]and there's no bugs this is it literally has

[32:57]two weeks a year we could do that and we're there and so if it gets too warm out though your steak

[33:03]will overcook while it's sitting outside if it gets too hot you gotta send that chip back so

[33:07]it's actually not a prime time for that matt sitting outside kind of sucks too doesn't it

[33:12]like every time i said i'm like okay i'm gonna go sit outside for a while then i go out there i'm

[33:16]like ah this sucked it's too hot the wood feels weird like what if i put food on it no thanks

[33:21]sun shining in your face like i don't need all that vitamin d or whatever it is yeah forget about

[33:27]i live in the base so it's different for me yeah what are you gonna do and then finally um i started

[33:33]my uh you know i used to coach baseball and then i i took a i took a hiatus but i'm back coaching

[33:41]again coach hey welcome back the richfield mud hens richfield mud hens t-ball team and we had

[33:47]our first game yesterday now is this are your sons on this team yeah eddie is also so now you're

[33:53]now you're the guy who's got you're the now your kid is the coach's kid

[33:57]are you aware of what comes along with being the coach's kid um yeah and eddie game one of my dad

[34:04]my dad's my dad coached me from i was six on my dad's whole life you know and so my dad

[34:11]with t-ball you literally there's i think 11 kids you literally need like eight parents helping out

[34:17]to make sure that somebody's at first base somebody's on second base somebody's at third

[34:20]somebody's at home somebody's in the dugout getting helmet on the person on deck somebody's

[34:24]in the dugout just making sure the other kids are killing each other somebody's making sure the

[34:27]bats aren't getting thrown somebody's making sure the ball gets back under the t you know all this

[34:30]stuff right you need so many parents up with my dad and meanwhile matt's sitting there teaching

[34:34]him how to do a bat flip after each hit he's like no you gotta flow like this showing him

[34:38]eddie literally matt's kids chewing tobacco over in the corner and spitting it on the right field

[34:45]line he's got it down he's got it but so he he literally he's the kid who is running all over

[34:51]the field he's pretty fast so he's the one who's going in front of all the girls and getting the

[34:57]ball and getting the ball he's like eddie you gotta let the other kids get the ball things like

[35:01]that but also put this put this rub rub this stuff on you i call it the clear i got the cream i got

[35:07]the clear rub this on the clear don't worry about why your helmet doesn't fit anymore it's gonna be

[35:12]fine and then immediately after that scolding matt is calling every college coach that he knows in

[35:16]the nation he's like hey my five-year-old he's got skills yeah and he can get from first to third

[35:22]in 82 seconds or whatever it takes a four-year-old to get there in you know and this is just this

[35:27]is like five-year-old t-ball stuff and there's hockey programs around the state of minnesota

[35:32]certainly like three-year-olds and stuff and there's stuff like that where they just gotta go

[35:35]gotta go and oh i don't know but we're having fun and but i've i've uh got back back in the game guys

[35:40]back in the coaching game and so i like it i'm excited keep us keep us appraised of your record

[35:45]throughout the time so far it's fun to fun are you wearing the coach shorts matt stop the above

[35:51]the way above the knee the coach shorts that everyone used to wear when we were kids or not

[35:55]nope i refuse

[35:57]bike shorts they're they're the bike shorts and they're yeah made of like something that if you

[36:02]put up if you get too close to a flame they would just go up instantly no they would just melt to

[36:07]your skin they'd melt to yours yeah they'd melt those are probably like a four inch inseam right

[36:11]we talked we talked seven inch inseams on this podcast those got to be like a four

[36:15]yeah yeah they're up there but then you know it's made up for going up up high on your gut so

[36:22]i got a follow-up on matt's shorts idea though because i tried to return some shorts

[36:27]the other day and said erin's the one who sends back the steak no i was pretty quiet earlier about

[36:34]that i was going to seven inch like matt said but i noticed when i was doing the exchange that the

[36:39]five inch shorts are sold out so the short shorts are like that's where it's at the short shorts are

[36:44]coming back i have not i have not gotten ballsy enough i can't do the five inch yet you know i

[36:51]have i have i've started my peloton's way down guy and russell you'll be sorry to hear this my

[36:56]peloton writing it's just way down you know i haven't gotten too many too many rides in i haven't

[37:00]got too many rosie i did find a new name for you oh i want to hear it um 99 problems but swag ain't

[37:08]one oh somebody's peloton name so i figured out that was going for you but no so but i have not

[37:14]been able to try the five inch shorts out yet but no it that's where everything's going rosie so you

[37:19]might need to just skip the sevens go right to the five have you guys tried have you guys started

[37:23]lifting weights yet in tights i can highly recommend it

[37:26]that's all i wear now it's tights i uh i i do yeah but i put short do you put shorts on over

[37:32]your tights nope just tights yep yeah i i do it but i put shorts on over my tights so i can't walk

[37:39]around in the tights speaking of things that are shorter than five inches rob rolling going how's

[37:43]it going with you uh i'll tell you what it was the hey rob do you like that transition that was

[37:50]i don't get it by the way speaking of peloton if you guys if my wife asked could you tell her that

[37:56]yes you can get herpes by sitting on the peloton seat okay just uh rolling uh the the rock and roll

[38:04]hall of fame the rock and roll hall of fame had a uh five new inductees no six new inductees this

[38:12]year we've got the gogos we've got jay-z tina turner foo fighters carol king and todd rundgren

[38:18]they had a fan vote for the second year in a row wait jay-z's in the rock and roll hall of fame

[38:23]just for that live performance of wonderwall jay-z

[38:26]was the last in the fan voting and he got in uh first place in the fan voting was uh

[38:33]last year was dave matthews and he didn't get in so everybody was pissed about that

[38:37]you want to know who got second place in the fan voting this year and did not get in

[38:40]rosie and i felt so smart because i knew who it was uh feel a cootie

[38:44]oh nice did not get accepted so they still have kind of a global music problem

[38:49]but this being a music podcast i gotta tell you guys forget all that i am in cookie hell right now

[38:55]my wife is in cookie hell right now and i'm in cookie hell right now and i'm in cookie hell right now

[38:56]my wife is making cookies she is currently making me a birthday cake right now she has

[38:59]been making cookies all day long and giving me cookies like crazy i cannot eat any more cookies

[39:04]she literally has sent cookies with me to work three times my co-workers think i'm a psychopath

[39:08]at all like they see this big fat guy come in and then i also have cookies like every day and

[39:12]they're like oh big surprise this guy's got cookies there's the man right there i mean it's

[39:18]like this this is my life now is just eating cookies and every time she changes one little

[39:22]thing she's like what do you think what do you think what do you think coach's kid and i can't

[39:25]be like i can't be like oh this cookie is not good you know what i mean like i have to keep saying

[39:31]like oh i like this i like this but there's no difference so please pray for me i'm eating

[39:35]cookies i'm like a kid who you catch smoking and then you make him smoke the whole pack like that's

[39:39]it it's like oh you like my kids she said the other day hey guys do you want some cookies i

[39:43]just made some and all three of us said no can you imagine making fresh homemade cookies and

[39:47]your family says no did you guys ever get caught uh smoking as a kid or anything like that rob

[39:53]mentioned getting getting caught as a kid

[39:55]did you ever smoke a cigarette and get caught as a kid no i stole a cigarette from my friend's

[40:01]mom's purse and we smoked that and then when we smoked that we were like we're gonna go outside

[40:05]and roll grass up in a piece of paper oh bad idea and i was like 32 and we tried to smoke that and

[40:13]of course it was just terrible it was just awful and i was like oh smoking is really really bad

[40:17]like it's not good no i never i never got caught smoking i didn't hang out with people that smoke

[40:21]and then you saw two falcons chasing a hawk yeah whatever the hell it was

[40:25]yeah the crows man these crows they defend their territory it's like because a hawk is a bad

[40:30]motherfucker everybody knows that and the crows will gang up together to take care of this shit

[40:34]and defend their territory it's incredible uh i got busted uh not smoking but i i got caught with

[40:41]a receipt for vodka and lemonade in my uh 93 nissan centra that uh my my buddy's roommate

[40:48]bought for us and that was that wasn't a great not a great look but uh no how old were you when

[40:53]this happened aaron freshman year

[40:55]college i went home to des moines uh stopped by uh drake university and um happened to know

[41:01]somebody who was over 21 and uh he bought us some vodka and lemonade and then i left the receipt in

[41:06]my car and uh my mom was not pleased yeah that was a bunch of bullshit the worst the equivalent

[41:11]for that in my life is that my dad to this day to this day i'm turning 41 to this day in fact

[41:18]15 minutes my dad is convinced that i stole a box of cake mix out of the

[41:25]kitchen and ate it and he brings it up twice a year to me he goes he goes i know you ate that

[41:30]cake mix i go dad i didn't eat the cake mix i'm gonna call my time out i've called my time out

[41:38]this is like when oj's convinced himself he didn't murder those people

[41:42]like sometimes in life you do things that you know damn well you did but if you just keep

[41:49]telling yourself no i did not eat that cake mix and you tell yourself over and over no you can't

[41:55]convince yourself you didn't do it if your dad thinks you didn't rob that much admit you ate

[42:01]that no now i did eat three boxes of cake mix in a hotel in las vegas and i got in trouble for that

[42:05]but that's totally different that's a different thing but no he can he's convinced that i like

[42:10]ate the cake mix and he keeps bringing up i'm like why would i eat dry cake mix it makes no sense

[42:14]he's like i don't know and i'm like is that what you think of me as a son like it really makes me

[42:17]question my whole life but that was the equivalent me smoking the equivalent was me eating cake mix

[42:22]so that shows you where my life's at this is like when oj wrote the

[42:24]book rob's gonna write a book called if i did eat the cake mix this is how i would have eaten

[42:29]chapter one all right let's talk about okay computer uh by uh radiohead this came out

[42:38]wait are we are are we really doing another radiohead album this is for real i thought

[42:42]we were skipping you know there's another one there's another one in 10 in 10 albums there's

[42:46]another radiohead album no you guys are kidding now there's not a there's not another i thought

[42:54]we were gonna start putting up applications for a fourth co-host on

[43:01]monster.com or whatever must be online this pays very lucratively yes must be single must be

[43:09]terrible at online dating hey i'm married i'm married and i have a family who loves me we're

[43:14]like next get out of here nope imagine that interview process though like we just have

[43:20]like five tell us your best online dating story yeah and over and over and over and over and over

[43:24]and over you gotta be just be like man this guy is a fucking loser then you'd have to look back at

[43:28]me and be like yeah he goes back away is he he's grandfathered in russell we'd we'd this we'd crash

[43:34]and burn without you what would we talk about just start i mean did you see us when we when

[43:37]you said would you do this with your wife we're all like too scared to say anything we're like

[43:40]rosie brought up two crows chasing a hawk be careful what you wish for russell sometimes

[43:49]the trip is more fun than the destination oh great by the way i want to repeat marriage doing fine

[43:54]my marriage is doing fine okay so this was that after they did the bends which was a super

[43:59]successful album for uh radiohead they then made basically they had carte blanche to do whatever

[44:04]they wanted and they wrote this album and they tried to be a little bit more experimental which

[44:08]you're going to hear uh and also it's really if you want to if you want actually good description

[44:13]of this album tom york did a great interview with rolling stone 10 years after this album came out

[44:18]and basically he was like yeah looking back i was in a really dark place and i did a lot of really

[44:24]kind of emo type stuff that i'm kind of embarrassed of now but what they were doing

[44:28]is they were kind of switching from that creep guitar singing sound to a super densely layered

[44:32]kind of more computer and basically the lyrics were about him kind of being depressed and being

[44:38]anxious about things he had been in a car crash earlier which is what a lot of these songs allude

[44:42]to and about how um society is kind of getting obsessed with technology which is pretty amazing

[44:47]for a 1997 oppression album to be sure so should we get into it let's hear it yep let's go for it

[44:53]all right so

[44:54]so right away we have the first one uh and aaron you're making the symbol of somebody with a big

[44:59]chest so i don't know why we're doing this is airbag wait what

[45:02]so again thom yorkie got into a car crash and uh oh by the way i should say this if you are a big

[45:14]fan of radiohead you should probably just turn off this episode because you're gonna be mad at us by

[45:17]the end of this just to let you know except for me i don't i mean i don't know i i mean i also really

[45:23]enjoyed this this album this album snuck up on me i i didn't get into it i think we talked about this

[45:30]before the only radiohead album i really got into was in rainbows but this one just it puts you in

[45:34]a mood and you start hearing things and you start thinking like yeah it would be tough for a machine

[45:39]to get into human life this can't be easy like i i identify with uh with the computer here but then

[45:46]they go and use the machine to make the drum beat for that song right there yeah so basically they

[45:51]had they had a drum beat that they sampled and they were like well this isn't very interesting

[45:55]so they started running it through a guitar pedal board listen to this

[45:57]one of those things when you really listen to it it sounds great yeah so right from the jump

[46:07]they're doing some making new sounds and that's like that's what we keep coming back to in the

[46:11]pod when we get to these albums that we're not sure what's great about them well they're they're

[46:16]making sounds that we haven't heard before and and that's isn't that what music is is sound so i think

[46:20]it's very cool well

[46:21]i think this album too is is so emotional right i mean it's like yes there's a very clear emotion

[46:27]coming through on this album if and if you're into that then you're gonna like the album if

[46:31]you're not into it you're not gonna like you're probably not gonna get into it but people are

[46:35]obsessed with radiohead i mean the more i talk to people about radiohead the people who love

[46:39]radiohead love it really speaks to people yeah here we have paranoid android paranoid android

[46:44]is actually three songs it's actually a song with four different sections so i want to play the four

[46:49]different sections for you here

[46:51]this is the opening one well think of like uh queen's bohemian rhapsody things like that where

[46:58]it changes tempos change yeah right like a sweet and definitely not just on genius.com but tom

[47:05]york is saying that he's 50 bohemian rhapsody and 50 happiness is a warm gun of kind of cramming

[47:11]these musical ideas together this is a very british album i read that to the the comparison

[47:18]with bohemian rhapsody or the happiness is a warm gun inspiration would you recommend that song to

[47:21]would you guys have ever thought of that if you hadn't read it or is it just the change in kind

[47:26]of tempo the change in pace it's different songs in wonder would you have thought of that or not

[47:30]no of course not i i know no i enjoyed this song a lot more when i read about how he recorded i

[47:37]think it's interesting how he did that's what's weird about this album to me is that it's so

[47:41]it's such a cerebral album in a lot of ways so you would think it might inspire like a nerd like

[47:45]me to want to read about it and i didn't i just wanted to listen to it i just wanted to listen

[47:49]and enjoy it and let it kind of like wash over i don't know like something about the radiohead vibe

[47:55]just works for me and i'm not interested in the stories behind it i'm not even i know there's a

[48:00]lot of good technical stuff going on and i'm not that interested in it because i just like

[48:05]listening i just like the the mind space it puts me in do you think do you think radiohead if they

[48:10]came out now would be a big band or were they tapping into an emotion in the 90s that could

[48:15]only exist in that time and again this is like 97 so this is right guys i don't know i don't know

[48:19]picture me i'm in high school i've got a letter jacket on one of my letters was for best kisser

[48:25]now i made that letter myself put it on the letter jacket later got in trouble for that

[48:30]i would assume i would assume that any girl that ever kissed you in high school probably

[48:35]had to play this album after that experience yeah i think that this is a great mash-up of

[48:41]kind of that grunge sound if you will it's more smashing pumpkins than like the pearl jam seattle

[48:49]um we should play more it's kind of got those deep heavy guitars but then you throw some of

[48:53]the computer stuff that comes in it lets you start looping things and they got some other

[48:57]instruments that aren't really i wouldn't say they're like played instruments live they're more

[49:02]uh mechanical used from the computer kind of trying to go back it's like it's like the

[49:06]melatron the melatron it's like a keyboard with all these um uh samples yeah and so you know i

[49:12]think it's a good mixture of that which is kind of moving from the grunge into kind of this new wave

[49:19]of how music is recorded and so i think it's a good i think i think it would do well right now

[49:25]but again it does sound a little old for now obviously but i think just the way that they

[49:29]were utilizing the technology so it's almost like you have to say what's the technology now

[49:34]step it up a level and that's where this album is in my opinion so i don't know i think it would be

[49:40]not that anybody cares what i think about this album but for me like listening to these clips

[49:44]i can do this so much better because when i would listen to the whole album i would almost get

[49:48]by like the the it was just so like melancholy for me i was like oh i don't i don't need this

[49:55]in my life i got see and i had that with every well especially pumps especially siamese dream

[49:59]kind of the first one everybody knows about like i i listened to it so many times that i did

[50:04]realize finally like i'm just blue i'm depressed after listening to this and what is it and well

[50:09]it's just this song is you know these songs they're all depressing so no i i know what you

[50:13]mean i didn't quite get it from this album because of the ending i really do like the ending we'll

[50:18]talk about that but yeah i had a song affect me like that too

[50:21]all right so here we go to the second uh second part of this song

[50:35]kind of the same here it comes in the second part

[50:41]i like the bass line here yep

[50:48]a little change in rhythm and now the third one they're going to slow it way down

[50:54]paranoid android they got this name of this of the song from the book hitchhiker's guide to the

[51:00]galaxy from marvin the paranoid android also where they got the name of the album okay computer it's

[51:05]a line from the book so sounds like we're gonna learn shit but we hear it in the first two songs

[51:10]this is a guitar driven album they're i mean there's obviously they're they're bringing in a

[51:18]these first two tracks we know this is going to be guitar album and that's i think why people get

[51:23]radio head fans or other people that leads into my uh my list for the week guys i don't know if

[51:29]you hear what's going on in the background there but we have a list they've got is it's heavily

[51:34]it's something called a hold on hold on hold on so i don't know if you guys have heard of the

[51:39]fuzz pedal before hang on yeah we've done it we've done it we've done a list on it i believe

[51:44]oh okay all right but i'm all for doing another one i believe we did a list on the fuzz pedal

[51:51]about four weeks ago but we should do a second list on it no never mind we'll go to the next one

[51:56]no no no i demand we do part two okay so the fourth the fourth part of this song

[52:05]i mean listen to this five seconds you can hear it switch

[52:07]listen to this right here

[52:14]kind of a coda little callback ah this is this is badass when it really rips

[52:21]you got i i have to give credit where credit is due this is bad i made two lists so if you can

[52:28]hear in the background there that you know rosie talked about using some synthesizers and stuff

[52:31]they've got they've got an instrument called the whirlitzer that they're using to come up with

[52:36]and so the wait the list i've got is the top whirlitzer songs that we've ever used oh it

[52:43]seems like we might have never heard of it

[52:44]is this a piano or what point right have we done that no i don't know i've never heard of the world

[52:50]nobody knows what we've done nobody cares we could do the same list every week and we would

[52:54]get zero emails about it because again the only emails i'm getting is offering us car insurance

[52:58]all right well then i've got a third one oh you might not have heard it go back to the second one

[53:04]there all right if we have to play if we play like an eighth clip on paranoid android there's

[53:10]gonna need to be a so about about 10 seconds in here you hear a saxophone

[53:14]and so you can hear it in the background so what i want to do is come up with a list

[53:20]that's the top five saxophone songs of all time i'm i'm walking away if we do

[53:26]all right wait a minute i hear a wah-wah pedal in the background you guys hear a wah-wah pedal

[53:33]all right for real though i do got a list go to the list play in this song there's one line and

[53:40]i gotta get to it and i thought it was hilarious when i heard it i had to get to it i had to get to it

[53:44]i heard it i didn't think i actually heard it but he says ambition makes you look pretty ugly

[53:49]kicking and squealing gucci little pig something gucci little pig what the fuck why is tom york

[53:57]talking about gucci okay so here i've got i think i've got it you can almost hear you might have to

[54:01]turn it up but oh yeah he's having it yeah yeah i heard it i decided to make a list of the top

[54:14]it's it's time for a beck did it better countdown oh yeah i love it yes this is badass we've got

[54:24]these analysts at work right and these 23 24 year old women to come out of you know and so i said

[54:30]hey how's it going one of them said i'm doing gucci and i'm like you're too fucking old to be

[54:34]saying gucci that's like a high school thing that's like what my kids would say to me for all

[54:37]of our 40 year old extremely successful mothers out there

[54:44]who are listening up in uh you know northern minnesota who've got great careers doing great

[54:49]things excellent husbands if you say i'm doing gucci or something's gucci that means fancy very

[54:55]fashionable you're doing great doing excellent i did rob what's the first song we got here gucci

[55:00]main so gucci main is a rapper very famous zone six and he just straight up stole gucci and put

[55:06]it in his name yes this is awesome and i'm not gonna lie 98 of the songs that have gucci in

[55:14]them are rap songs and i try to limit just to gucci main here are rap contingent of this so i

[55:20]like i think if i was a rapper i would have haynes i could listen to this all day fruit of the loom

[55:25]would be in my name the next one comes from i believe 1983 band called the kinks in a song

[55:30]called add it up the kinks the kinks

[55:33]i think they're talking about a little bit of excess but here we go

[55:42]oh yeah it's

[55:44]next is a group now wait a minute that's two kink songs in two weeks you know

[55:53]is that about we got i gotta ask in the middle of this list here what what is your gucci thing

[55:58]that you guys have a thing where hey i gotta go get like 400 shoes or what's your thing for you

[56:03]guys where i have to have the top of the line for one type of thing i told you that story right

[56:07]where jenny told me what she wanted for her birthday one time and so i went into the shoe

[56:12]store right i go into valentine's and i'm like oh my god i'm gonna go to valentine's and i'm gonna

[56:14]get her some rock studs she's got the size picked out she's got the color picked out she's got

[56:18]everything i want i knew i was in deep by the way russell have fun online dating with your 30 stakes

[56:24]or whatever because this is what happens when you get into the shit long i knew i was deep into it

[56:28]when i showed up at the restaurant and they said excuse me or the restaurant that was part of the

[56:34]problem i showed up at a shoe store and the first thing they said to me is oh excuse me do you want

[56:38]an espresso or a water and i was like wait what you know normally i'm used to a guy doing that

[56:44]dressed like a referee coming up to me and be like oh i have to go look at the back

[56:47]so and i i gotta go water in that case because if i have an espresso i'm gonna get the jitters and

[56:52]then i'm not gonna make good decisions like i gotta go tell you what tell you what i took

[56:56]fucking both and the water came out in a glass the water came on the glass bottle so i knew i

[57:01]was extra fucked then i looked around and i realized i'm the only person in the store

[57:05]speaking english because everyone who works there also speaks a different language so they're

[57:09]talking to the clients in italian and japanese and i was like oh no so i i get these shoes i

[57:14]pick them out i feel very fancy meanwhile i should tell you i'm wearing an ill-fitting

[57:18]minnesota timberwolves pullover that i got for like on sale it's the ugliest fucking thing you've

[57:24]ever seen i look like a hobo in here buying shoes so when you say ill-fitting is it like not covering

[57:30]up somehow it's both what do you mean by that too small in different areas of my body like it makes

[57:34]no sense and probably not the areas you want them to be too big or too small exactly it's like when

[57:38]you're going tubing on a lake and then you deflate the tube that's what it looked like like halfway

[57:42]through that deflation process that's what my shirt looks like

[57:44]so i go and i get these shoes and in the meanwhile i see these little wallets like

[57:49]these wallet-sized purses next to me and i look and i say you know maybe a nice gift to add that

[57:53]on it's the same rock studs i'll look so no prices anywhere of course so i look to see how much they

[57:59]cost five thousand dollars and i was like i'll take two please no i was like okay no thanks

[58:08]she's gucci think about that she's gucci what's what's next up on the list man what's the next

[58:14]russ is like oh thirty dollar steak doesn't something called gucci bag and honestly i just

[58:18]never heard of this band and they look like a bunch of posers but i don't know just it's the

[58:23]only one that had way to way to pump it up let's play it anyway sounds nice i like this gucci rock

[58:34]and roller yeah put this on the barbecue it sounds nice the last one i had to do and this is not to

[58:43]step into the uh who did it better but our buddy the namesake of this podcast mr beck hansen did do

[58:52]a remake of a song and he i don't even know what the name of the song actually was but the title

[58:57]of the song is gucci bag and flames hell yes and so you can play it rob and so there's nothing

[59:03]doesn't talk about gucci at all whoa what is this but you know i thought it was a pretty good one

[59:08]so this is like a b-side of one of his songs called gucci bag and flames hell yes

[59:13]so i got a sickness for the thickness you can hear this whoa that is awesome beck is a pretty

[59:20]flexible artist we should make a podcast about him you can add radiohead to the list of groups

[59:26]who talk about gucci in one of their songs he says all right subterranean homesick alien

[59:31]so this is a song about how he wishes and this kind of sums up tom york he wishes he could be

[59:36]abducted by aliens so he could just observe humanity and not participate did aliens scare

[59:41]the shit out of you as a kid like they did to you or did they scare you to death like they did to

[59:43]me aliens yes i think i read so many alien abduction books i was legit scared of aliens

[59:50]growing up i just read matt christopher books as a kid so it was like there were no aliens

[59:54]i had about 38 of them yeah right just every day with a glass arm yeah all that stuff right

[60:00]so that song rob you know i don't know if we've talked do we do we mention it yet you know that

[60:05]the one of the kind of the themes or what uh radiohead was going for was the sound that they've

[60:13]had on miles davis's bitches brew oh from 1986 and so yeah so if you hear kind of how that

[60:20]that song went this one kind of this is the closest one so here's a clip from bitches brew

[60:25]just oh man you guys are talking right to my heart right now where's bitches brewing the list right

[60:31]now i think it's 87 so matt where where's the inspiration or can you explain where the connection

[60:39]is here seek i don't know if i can properly

[60:43]but he was going for i guess this bitches brew did they start getting electronic on bitches brew

[60:48]and kind of bring electronic yeah i think i don't get up into we'll get into it when the time comes

[60:54]but i think a lot of with bitches brew it was let's lay down a groove keep some rhythm going

[60:59]and then there's a loose structure to it but it's harmonically and melodically very loose in terms

[61:05]of what people could play what what key you're in what scale you're playing and just expand in terms

[61:12]of what where we're going with it and i think it's a really good song and i think it's a really good

[61:13]we are with structure you know kind of like this podcast so russell russell what modality are we in

[61:18]yeah russell i got a question for you are you ready so if thinking that radiohead is cool

[61:28]consider me miles davis i want to point out not a question at all you're thinking

[61:34]miles davis is cool consider us radiohead exit music for a film

[61:39]okay

[61:43]well i thought it was a good idea

[61:43]i thought about this a lot i do have a story to tell about this one

[61:45]in terms of the the dating life the dating life yeah this is this is aaron's soundtrack to his

[61:52]dating life russell talks about dates please aaron if you're going to talk about dating life

[61:57]please do not bring up that this was the end of the romeo and juliet movie and the ending of that

[62:01]movie because i'm already depressed really i don't need to go back i don't know if it was or not yes

[62:05]but i will say to you guys when it was when i was dating it was when i was dating my lady

[62:10]uh when we first started dating i was not a

[62:13]sit through the her name is aaron's wife at gmail.com when anna and i were dating i did not

[62:21]know i was not a sit through the credits of a movie kind of guy and she totally was and so we

[62:27]would go to a movie together and i'd be like okay the movie's over let's get up and go and she would

[62:30]sit and listen through she was seen if there was like a secret part at the end like she's

[62:34]she just understood aaron and this is where aaron this is why aaron and anna are they're the right

[62:43]people for each other is she was sitting there like giving people credit for like the key grip

[62:51]at the end of the movie she wanted to acknowledge the people that were a part of the movie other

[62:55]and if you take you if you go to a movie and you sit that whole time in a movie you need that time

[63:00]this is an actual part of the art you need that time to absorb what you just saw think about it

[63:05]before you just run into the lobby and go for dinner or drink or whatever and isn't it also

[63:09]true aaron that when you're done with a movie you take all your trash and just throw it on the floor

[63:13]don't throw it away you let all the workers there pick it up you go this is their problem

[63:17]i just usually sit there and ask i can't about how i can't believe my date sent back popcorn

[63:23]three times for too much that's got something smart to say about this though matt's with me

[63:26]right matt uh well i was gonna say that now that i'm with my kids and i think they just want to

[63:32]keep watching tv and they just they just want to keep watching they just don't want to turn it off

[63:37]so they say well we got to watch to the end right and so i say okay well geez you know this is the

[63:43]so we we're always looking for the uh production babies because we know once you've got production

[63:48]babies have you ever watched to the end they put down the names of the kids that were born during

[63:53]you know of their parents were working on the movies and stuff so there's always like

[63:57]38 kids that were born during the making of this so that's that's what we because that's when we

[64:02]know that we're almost done and the secret part to whatever cartoon we're watching is coming up so

[64:06]that's i don't know who the what a key grip is i don't know what the second assistant you know all

[64:13]the stuff but yeah that's what we look see aaron is aaron is such a good spouse he just he just went

[64:19]along with he's like wait wait we have to sit here for another eight minutes watch the credit he just

[64:23]went along with it now he's like oh it's the end of the credits hey dig deep in this popcorn box

[64:27]check out what's down here

[64:30]i'm saying they're doing everyone else's dinner right yeah that's exactly it there's a line in

[64:38]uh there's a line from in on wikipedia because i'm looking at wikipedia from from this song

[64:43]exit music and he's tom york like you said it was taken from romeo and juliet or that was his

[64:49]inspiration but he said i saw the i saw a version when i was 13 and i cried my eyes out because i

[64:54]couldn't understand why the morning after they shag they just didn't run away

[64:58]so they were trying to go for some of the baselines of portishead which i believe comes

[65:07]up in the 130s rob is that where portishead's at 131 i've never heard kind of an electrician

[65:13]electronic rap alternative group from england in the early 90s which extremely uh underground i

[65:22]think here in the have you guys ever heard of portishead i've literally never heard of this

[65:27]band have you no but then you know what this is one of those bands where you listen to them on

[65:31]the list and you're like yeah i should know who these people are but so hold on hold on we just

[65:36]gotta stop right now so this portishead is higher on the list than johnny cat yeah i mean get the

[65:42]fuck out of here

[65:43]we gotta stop someone's gotta say enough right i write a letter to rolling stone and tell him to

[65:49]change the list we don't have we i got lots of time we can restart this podcast we don't need

[65:52]to draw attention and get our get us canceled for coffee that would never happen i'm not doing that

[65:57]all right speaking of russell that'd be a real russell's dates let down oh do you like that one

[66:04]wait what uh i thought this one was all for all the nursing mothers out there

[66:08]this is such a nice pop tune right

[66:11]what

[66:12]what

[66:13]this he said this song is about sentimentality how you're always let down because it's like

[66:17]an emotion that's forced on you do you guys get sentimental about anything i used to be

[66:21]sentimental about stuff until i moved to new york and have an apartment and i'm like throw away

[66:26]everything all the time throw it away my weird sentimental thing is if you i don't know if you

[66:32]guys ever get into watching like youtube clips of people going on x factor or what's uh what's

[66:38]the show that people sing on fox i don't know what what is the show american idol like to me

[66:43]the one the one thing that gets me emotional is watching youtube videos about people who go on

[66:48]like singing or talent shows and finally get a chance to show that they're awesome at something

[66:53]and someone's like a great singer but they never get an opportunity and you finally get to see like

[66:57]people get to recognize that hey this person is really talented that makes me emotional i love

[67:02]that stuff i like watching different animals go to the bathroom on youtube i don't know

[67:07]i guess we're all different all right karma police

[67:10]wait

[67:13]what which is probably the number one song from this that anybody would recognize anything from

[67:18]this would be the song that they would would know right yeah it's a wild thought like this

[67:24]is what you get when you mess with us like it's it's heavy stuff like if you you know you mess

[67:28]with the karma police this is what you get i'm telling you man it gets in your head it gets in

[67:32]your head it starts to mess with you i read that this i read that this song was described as

[67:36]atmospheric music and so rob you're you're a science teacher but i i once read that the

[67:43]stratosphere is the upper level of the atmosphere the middle of level of the atmosphere is that

[67:48]correct i think it's right above the mesosphere yes you are correct you are correct and it turns

[67:52]out that i know matt's talked about beck but beck has a song about the stratosphere we gotta check

[67:57]this out and it kind of sounds a little similar like it sounds a little similar to radiohead right

[68:10]a lot of space in there

[68:13]but so i gotta ask you guys when it comes to atmospheric music that actually is aware of the

[68:20]science involved who does it better did it better explosions are we ever gonna run out of back songs

[68:27]to play during this podcast every week you guys come up with new songs i've never heard of it

[68:30]you're like this is off the album never heard of it is he still making new tunes because yeah we

[68:34]might be stretching it by album 500 all right so me when i'm ordering shirts online fitter happier

[68:41]man

[68:41]more productive this is the one that my son liked the most he was like when are you gonna play the

[68:47]one with the robot voice yeah he's right yeah i i don't i get it this is i mean this sums up the

[68:57]album though i think what he's talking about of like yeah this is all the stuff you need to be

[69:01]happy and it's supposed to and they remember he's 24 years old when he does this album like i just

[69:06]saw a thing on my on my facebook of when i was like so long 20s and i'm like god that seems like

[69:11]i mean i once peed on a friend's floor because i drank too much the night before in my 20s like

[69:17]that's the kind of stuff you do in your 20s like and he's saying like here's what you need to be

[69:21]happy the stuff he's saying in that i'm like yeah you should you should be drinking more water you

[69:26]should be exercising you should get a safe car like yes older people are right younger people

[69:30]are stupid it's the way it is i think of it as a it's a machine or a robot or a computer trying

[69:37]to figure out how to be human right or matt what's your take on it well i i'm again i'm not a human

[69:41]i dug in deep to this one no i'm kidding looking at wikipedia it says that he just basically wrote

[69:47]it in 10 minutes and all he did was uh he just took a a bunch of slogans from the 90s and just

[69:53]kind of put them all into the head of a computer saying them out and he said this is the most

[69:57]depressing thing ever like you think about taking all of the same as the bus everything you get

[70:02]you get pitched every day right all of the stupid taglines that people come like you know and

[70:07]there's millions of dollars behind all this stuff and you just put a computer voice behind it and

[70:11]you know have it your way you know all this stuff if you just and he said it was the most

[70:16]depressing and i can i can kind of hear it i can understand where that'd be the most

[70:19]depressing thing ever just do it still holds up though electioneering

[70:23]this is the one that sounds to me like it starts to hint at the garage rock the return of garage

[70:33]rock so bringing back the white stripes the hives the vines those bands well and this was 97 it's

[70:41]the only one that's kind of like the stuff from before right like yeah it's about the most rock

[70:46]songs they've got kind of almost an homage to what they used to be doing they're kind of moving away

[70:51]from this you can hear and not not this next song i mean this climbing up the walls is so scary i

[70:56]mean listen to this wait wait are you are you not are you not gonna even mention that aaron was

[70:59]holding up the sign about the rigged election during that election i remember cupcake that

[71:06]said pick flip you're slipping i know i know you got a cold yes send me some text with some ideas

[71:10]about who q is but i'm not gonna do that i'm not gonna do that i'm not gonna do that i'm not gonna

[71:11]do that i've just been ignoring it i don't know that guy's just a dork like a q if you're listening

[71:17]you're a dork like you you're not cool or tough you're just a dork aaron taking a hard stance

[71:22]against the fictional character q he's uh this at the end of this album i think is a much more

[71:29]what you guys were saying kind of back to what they were doing before and actually it's because

[71:33]a lot of this early the end of the album was actually recorded earlier for example no surprises

[71:37]this is the first uh song they recorded for the album listen to this

[71:41]oh this is beautiful sounds like you're floating right inspired by the beach feels and you can hear

[71:47]it yeah is there around i think there's because this album is after the bends right this isn't

[71:56]around like plastic trees is yes it's after this right this one's so pretty isn't around

[72:04]mike love it's so much like the beach boys mike love try to take writing credit for the song it's

[72:09]crazy all right

[72:11]right lucky and it starts it's kind of interesting they start by strumming above

[72:16]and aaron don't laugh at this but they're strumming above the guitar nut

[72:20]all right where's that aaron put the signs down why why do you where's that every time

[72:26]aaron are you strumming below the nut i think i can see why the bpms are so low for you i think

[72:33]above the nut is the best place oh gross above the nut or below the nut in between the hot dog style

[72:41]so they they recorded this album for a relief album going out to i think serbia

[72:52]and then they said after they recorded this song it kind of inspired them to

[72:57]what the rest of the album was going to shape up and look like i i enjoyed the back half of

[73:01]this album i did i thought it was i think it's good top to bottom you can see how talented they are

[73:11]they kind of do this thing where like it makes me think of fight club when uh when edward norton's

[73:17]character destroys tyler durden and i haven't read the books i have read the book but i've forgotten

[73:21]now what their names are but we're no no no it's where he beats up uh jared leto and he says i just

[73:27]wanted to destroy something beautiful and i feel like radiohead does that once in a while they make

[73:31]something pretty and then they ugly it up a little bit and i think they do that on purpose because

[73:37]they want to make something beautiful and then destroy it i think that's kind of what they're

[73:40]going for for a lot of this album

[73:41]every podcast we do i have to edit out a half hour of aaron explaining fight club to us and he says

[73:47]it's such a movie it like explained like everything i'm like okay yeah aaron we get it i mean it's like

[73:53]okay and then matt and i just sit here we start saying his name is robert his name is i'm pretty

[74:00]sure i saw fight club with russell at the lakeville theater i'm fairly certain that that's part of why

[74:04]that movie still resonates for me so much is that i saw it rose love fight club you know who played

[74:11]robert paulson in that movie me love me love then we have the tourist it's a song about slowing down

[74:21]and enjoying things is this the tom hanks movie i really like the terminal all right you like this

[74:28]matt what do you think of this is the end of the album matt you're the you're i mean i really like

[74:32]it basically and there's some pretty good explanations about putting this on purpose of

[74:38]the back of the album right the guitarist literally was sitting in france and he was

[74:41]watching american tourists just trying to run around and just see everything gotta see everything

[74:45]go to we're gonna go here to there you know that's how i act when it's true in paris and stuff like

[74:49]that and he said the whole album is basically we're trying to say all this stuff we're trying

[74:53]to get all this stuff out we're trying to make you feel this and make you feel that and this

[74:57]is a song that just literally tells you to slow down take it easy it'll all be okay and it ends

[75:04]the album and again it's it's kind of it's it's great i love it i love it as the end of this album

[75:11]and and isn't that true i mean every every time i remember in a different place or different country

[75:16]it's not seeing the arc to triumph you know what i mean it's like sitting there and having a

[75:21]cappuccino and eating a croissant and just being like oh i feel like a parisian or i feel you know

[75:26]like oh how did i end up in this turkish prison like i you know it's something that you gotta

[75:31]slow down and appreciate it like yeah i did some vandalism in singapore and i blamed on my wife and

[75:37]now she's getting caned and i'm rock hard what

[75:41]all right listen speaking of ending things and slowing down i have to go to the bathroom so bad

[75:49]i've been trying to speed up this episode let's get to the rating system you know it's very popular

[75:53]people love it it's also padded padded because it's not really recording like we're in

[75:59]we're not we're not master eating this at half speed forget it

[76:04]i wonder when they paid him if they were master rating that too something to think about

[76:11]who's the master rater and who's the raider of the master rater all right listen we are in our

[76:19]final segment that is popular and padded if i haven't mentioned that and you guys got to tell

[76:23]me is this album a rolling well toned it is perfect right where it is at 42 i got 42 is this uh is this

[76:34]album too low and it is a rolling groan it should be much higher than 42 or is this a rolling bone

[76:40]we should have gotten this right we should have gotten this right we should have gotten this right

[76:41]this album earlier it should be 41 40 39 oh guys wait till we get to album 57 and i can make this

[76:48]heinz 57 joke i've been waiting on damn it i just did it i blew it uh russell what do you think of

[76:54]okay computer i have to say i enjoyed this kid who's this i enjoyed this i enjoyed this radiohead

[77:04]album more than kid a to me there's some kick-ass musical moments on this there's cool guitar moments

[77:11]and a lot of cool instruments i enjoyed it more than kid a for me personally i can't stand tom

[77:16]york singing it just doesn't resonate with me i'm glad that other people are engaged with it and it

[77:22]resonates with them to me i find it depressing and that's just not what i'm looking for from

[77:27]music and not what i'm looking for on albums on the list so for me it just doesn't really work

[77:32]for me i did enjoy a lot of it though there are musical moments that i think are very cool but to

[77:37]me it's outclassed by everything we've ever listened to on this list and i think it's a

[77:41]other than the other radiohead album and maybe that velvet underground album so i'm going to say

[77:46]it's rolling groan and i think that can be certified by the fact that aaron's son who is

[77:52]three his favorite song is on this album so so if aaron's son says his favorite song is on this

[77:58]album i think it's fair to say rolling aaron's son whatever your name is this is robot voice

[78:04]calling you i want to wish you a happy birthday aaron what do you think of this album which is okay

[78:11]computer by the band kid a slash radiohead i it turns out i'm rolling well is it a rolling bone

[78:18]sorry aaron go ahead it turns out i'm a rolling groan i really enjoy radiohead both of the radio

[78:26]albums we've listened to so far i've i've enjoyed more than i realized i like the the

[78:31]mind state that it puts me in um but i i think of this in some ways as a concept album

[78:37]and so i was thinking i was i was out for a walk with anna today we were

[78:41]talking about concept albums and i'm so always when i if i'm about to give my rating i try to

[78:48]think of other albums that i would compare this one to other albums i would think about

[78:52]obviously ziggy sardust was like a concept album in a way and i'm starting to be concerned you know

[78:58]you guys know i'm concerned with the where r&b and soul albums rank in this list but i'm starting to

[79:04]feel concerned about where country music fits on this list and as a concept album willie nelson

[79:11]stranger is better than this album so i have to say because this is not better than willie

[79:15]nelson redhead the stranger it's a rolling groan even as much as i liked it god damn i love you i

[79:19]told you he's going to bring up willie nelson redhead the stranger i told you he's going to do

[79:22]that everybody i think venmo it now how can aaron not be everyone's favorite person in the world the

[79:28]fact that you somehow tied this to willie nelson and it's god damn you're the best matt what do

[79:35]you think there's no one out there's no there's no crazier person in the world that would talk

[79:41]about willie nelson

[79:41]about hawks and crows that i would rather do this podcast with thank you russell i appreciate i love

[79:45]you aaron you're the best all right get a room you too matt what do you think i think um you know

[79:53]i do like radiohead i do all right enjoy the music i do don't do that rob

[80:03]i mean i i do think they have their spot in the 90s

[80:11]trying to talk as slow as i can because i can see rob wiggling in his chair there and it's just

[80:15]making me laugh because he's gonna go pee so he's got this all right so no i think this is rolling

[80:21]groan as much as i like this album as much as i like uh radiohead as a as a band and i think i've

[80:27]got to start maybe you know rob i might have to go to therapy or you have to tell me how to sign

[80:31]up for therapy i think you know listening to some of these bands from the early 90s that just put

[80:37]you into press states i don't know why i like them so much so i it's probably got to figure

[80:41]that out somehow um but no i think you know for where it is some to some of rosie's points there's

[80:46]just so much stuff that this probably should be rated higher than this one um that i'll just say

[80:51]it's a rolling groan listen this gets from me a rolling obsession i don't i don't necessarily

[81:00]get it but every person i know who likes radiohead loves radiohead everybody is saying this is one

[81:06]of the greatest albums of the 90s yes and listen it's it's the kind of the classic like

[81:11]30 000 elvis fans can't be wrong like it has to be like so many people think it's good

[81:16]and so many people love it they got to be right my brain's too small to disagree with that many

[81:20]people therefore it is an awesome album and i love it and speaking of awesome albums and i guess i

[81:26]did notice that i said albums and not albums coming up next on the next episode talking about

[81:30]uh tuesdays with morey or whatever we have a tribe wait no wait a minute we got to get into

[81:37]that tuesdays with more where do you oh mitch album god damn that was a good one aaron aaron

[81:41]you know what i'm on the rust trade you're great i love you yeah bringing up mitch album tuesday

[81:46]with moreys matt still thinks you suck hey can we write us can we write a book where we know this

[81:50]guy i i could just tell you from the cover that guy was gonna die at the end i knew it like it's

[81:54]just like this guy is dead it's like that dog movie what was that dog didn't he do a dog thing

[81:58]too or the dog died at the end yes miley and me yeah miley and me wrecking ball speaking with

[82:05]you aaron have you seen the video for wrecking ball yet oh my god i'm gonna piss my pants and

[82:10]this is still worth it

[82:11]next up we've got a tribe called the quest a low end oh nice they're wearing two pair of socks

[82:17]because you're gonna get them both pairs rocked off after listening to this album yeah when you

[82:22]want to hear about the greatest albums of all time

[82:26]i've got the perfect podcast for you

[82:41]beck did it better this episode was just a little too cold can you guys send this back for me

[82:47]i had to pay for all this shit

[82:51]yeah you should
