[26:30]going on and without fail every one of them made us super depressed for like the last

[29:34]but most of the dogs were like i don't know what to do with it i don't know what to do with it

[30:25]some so they're constantly like running after making sure the dog's all right and it just

[30:29]seemed like a lot it seemed like a lot more stress than what i would be able or capable of handling

[30:35]i finally this is the first thanksgiving i've had where my kids are old enough both of them

[30:39]are old enough to just sit and watch football or do their own thing or hang out with the other

[30:43]cousins stuff like that where i didn't have to watch them it's been literally like 12 years of

[30:47]like watching kids to make sure they're not pulling crap down and everything why would you

[30:52]add a dog that's right you made it like why would you i don't know and it's probably people

[30:58]is there people with kids and dogs or is it just like dog parents that are bringing their dogs along

[31:05]i think it was uh people without kids that brought dogs people with kids i and i think it's it's just

[49:25]so it kind of paints the whole album with a separate thing a lot like uh nick drake right

[49:36]elliot smith goes to hampshire college in amherst massachusetts makes the band heat miser okay while

[49:42]he's in heat miser he is now living in portland and he comes out with this kind of guitar and

[49:48]soft voice music he's recording it on a on a ford track and in a friend's apartment and it's so

[49:54]opposite this is 1997 this is so opposite the grunge that's big in the northeast at the time

[50:01]he said uh he said that going to going out to play an acoustic show in the northwest was like

[50:06]crawling on a limb of a tree and begging it for it to be sawed off like you just you it wasn't the

[50:11]kind of music everybody was into on this album uh elliot smith plays all the instruments themselves

[50:16]after this album comes out he hits it big the friends have intervention for alcohol abuse at

[50:22]the same time gus van zandt says also from portland by the way the director says i love this music i'm

[50:28]gonna put three of your songs into uh uh goodwill hunting including a song called i think mercy me

[50:36]which is not on this album but it's one he performed at the academy awards uh and basically

[50:41]they said we want you to play uh no miss misery sorry they said we want you to play this at the

[50:47]academy awards and he says i don't want to and they said okay we'll get another artist to play it

[50:50]and he's like okay fine i'll play it which i think is so it's so nasty to do to some small

[50:55]indie artist oh it's disgusting

[50:58]uh and then uh yeah and then after this the music comes out at people it it's actually a kind of a

[51:05]big hit like nationwide elliot smith at the time you know nme knew who he was like all these

[51:10]magazines knew he was he wasn't like totally like he was sort of a critical darling in a way

[51:15]was was his heat miser music was heat miser this kind of band were they i don't know let's listen
