Raekwon: Only Built 4 Cuban Lynx... (1995)

Beck Did It Better Podcast 1995
About this episodeHappy WU Year. .... this is basically a Wu-Tang reunion album so you KNOW RawGonnaGiveItToYou is going to pop in from the message boards to drop an insane amount of knowledge on us.  We talk about being a Brat about toilet paper and why that it is actually a good idea. Then we FINALLY talk about he Lingerie Football League, Aaron gets into what is obviously a Vermouth pyramid scheme, and Matt talks about his new love in his life.  Then we hang with the Chef (he keeps feeding us!) and talk about how this album came to be and caused problems in the Wu. We basically become the best Raekwon pod

[00:00]rob what are you what are you a brat at at home like what is the thing like when your kids ask

[00:04]you you're like i'm not doing well first of all i've gotten to that thing where i do make a bag

[00:07]for money i do make a bag that's one part of it and but the other what i do now you guys know

[00:13]and i make a big deal of it every time i will never in my house ever ever change a roll of

[00:20]toilet paper it's not happening i have never changed a roll of toilet paper in my house and

[00:25]i never will change a roll of toilet paper what a power move if the toilet paper runs out while

[00:30]i'm in the bathroom i take a new roll out and i put it on the back of the toilet on the back there

[00:35]is no need to put it on the annoying roller thing and dispose of the one no thanks i've never done

[00:41]it if he did that look at aaron's face look at aaron's face right now he would he would be a

[00:46]single man if he did that you guys don't get it the amount of toilet paper i use compared to the

[00:53]three other people in my house

[00:54]is

[00:55]i bet less than a hundredth of a percent compared to what the other people at my house are using i

[01:00]use almost no toilet paper i should never have to change the roll okay when i'm here by myself

[01:06]a toilet paper rolls last i don't know forever okay then all of a sudden my kids and wife come

[01:11]home and it's roll after roll they're just going like it's like it's on fire it's crazy feels like

[01:16]you should share your diet tips with them if you're having clean swipes then you should be

[01:19]like oh my god that's not what i'm talking about i don't know what it

[01:25]is with these women they use so much toilet paper it's crazy are we doing a women use a lot of toilet

[01:30]paper a bit that's how that's how we're starting this aaron i think that's what you were doing

[01:34]you just said clean swipes rob's talking about toilet paper i'm just saying about toilet paper

[01:39]dating apps what are we doing here that's what i'm a brat about aaron what are you aaron what

[01:43]are you a brat about at home um what am i a brat about at home oh the goddamn oh the fucking

[01:50]uh child care we do let's see if you can see we do ridwell so i got this

[01:57]got this bag back here of plastic bags that are for recycling for the ridwell recycling which we

[02:05]share with our neighbors and sometimes i don't put the plastic bag in that specific recycling bag

[02:13]sometimes i put it in the wrong spot if i'm cooking it's like i'm cooking and i open the

[02:18]the yuba strips and then i'm like oh my god i'm cooking i'm cooking i'm cooking i'm cooking

[02:20]trying to cook the yuba and like i don't want to deal with the bag at the same time

[02:24]because so sometimes i leave the bag of the yubas on the uh fucking sane yubas what are you talking

[02:35]about i tried to let it go i tried to ignore it i wanted to stop i'm warning you would not stop

[02:40]you kept saying yubas you did this to yourself yeah yuba is tofu skin so it's like this i don't

[02:50]ended this now i bet we would top that bob dylan episode from a few years ago

[02:55]what the fuck is tofu skin it doesn't have skin it's a plant

[03:01]but it's when they make it i think i think when they make it some of the liquid probably flows

[03:06]to the top and then it turns out that probably used to be a waste product or maybe it was used

[03:10]you know some places but it's not even the good part of tofu it's the waste product and you can

[03:15]kind of slice it and you can kind of make like a faux pulled pork kind of you know texture

[03:20]and then you can kind of slice it and you can kind of make like a faux pulled pork kind of you know

[03:20]i i mean i actually quite like it i think it's a nice i don't want to make fun of aaron i don't

[03:24]want to i really have tried when i listen back to in the past and i'm being mean to aaron it makes

[03:28]me feel bad look would i rather eat some chicken or some pork of course but i live in an omnivore

[03:34]family i have to figure out how we can all enjoy the same stuff sometimes sometimes i eat yuba but

[03:41]i'm a little bit of a brat about putting the yuba package into the special special

[03:47]ridwell containers we don't know what that

[03:50]is

[03:50]means we don't know what ridwell means we tried to act like we did but we don't like a third party

[03:55]recycling thing where they take your plastic bags and they turn them into deck boards i don't know

[04:00]it's a thing that i'm not like i and i was really into it so i try to get on board but sometimes i

[04:05]just can't do the thing where i'm like i'm in the middle of making some stuff and i gotta go to the

[04:10]other room and put the plastic bag into the specific container and sometimes i just leave

[04:14]it on the counter aaron have you ever been out with your family like in a coffee shop and you go

[04:18]oh this family is such an omnivore's dilemma

[04:20]and michael poolin looks up from behind his coffee like oh what i wonder if i have been

[04:26]i bet i have now what i just did is very cool russell i reference a book actually second

[04:31]episode in a row where i'm opening the show with a book reference talk everlasting and

[04:35]omnivore's dilemma thank you very much i don't know a few a few weeks ago you were doing some

[04:38]sub bit on kirkagard or something i have no clue that was that was an extensive bit that was

[04:44]it was some smart stuff man am i right to make fun of aaron for saying yerba yuba and soy skin

[04:50]at the same time uh usually you know i'm on aaron's side but i'm on your side in this one rob yes thank

[04:57]you man what are you a brat about at home that's what i meant to play rob's right rob's right rob's

[05:04]right uh i don't know like a clean kitchen i guess i don't know that doesn't seem like a that seems

[05:11]passive passive aggressive to somebody we've had this discussion right about the spoon and why don't

[05:15]you just put the spoon we we had this this is that hundreds of episodes ago that was like four

[05:19]years ago yeah four years ago i'm gonna hey i'm i'm not gonna lie i don't get to hold brad's thing

[05:26]i think i've just not listened so i want yeah i missed that one i don't i don't it's a job you

[05:31]will not do around the house man oh uh wow look at this guy dad of the year no job too small

[05:40]but you'll change short paper rolls that's crazy to me that's so crazy

[05:44]my upstairs roommate there there's plenty of things she would argue with me but the one that i'd never

[05:49]do i don't bring packages in out from outside if there's a package you know on the front doorstep

[05:54]i didn't order that package i'm not bringing that package in the packages sit out on the doorstep i

[05:59]don't bring them in tell you if you and my wife live together no package would ever enter the

[06:03]house it would just be a thousand packages outside the house there's uh you know there's

[06:09]we have stairs that go up to the like where the kids rooms are there's two rooms in the bathroom

[06:12]stairs all that so stuff just piles up on that stairs and it's supposed to be taken up so if

[06:18]you're cleaning up you put it on the stairs i mean somebody else is supposed to take it up when

[06:23]you should if you just clean up you should just take it upstairs where it belongs so i don't i

[06:27]i often don't take things up the stairs oh yeah oh no like when clothes get folded i'll let it

[06:34]sit out there i'm like this is a test of wills who's gonna bring it into the bedroom me whose

[06:39]clothes it is who obviously should have brought it in right away or is jenny gonna get so annoyed

[06:43]by it that she eventually does it and then yells at me but she did it so

[06:48]that's something to think about right there that's how you build a strong marriage in 2020

[06:52]four friends decided to listen to every one of the greatest 500 albums as decided by rolling stone

[06:56]magazine this resulted in a text chain that celebrated the music excoriated the order and

[07:00]led us to making this podcast we are far from experts we promise to do almost no research

[07:03]all opinions are our own unless you disagree please sit back and enjoy

[07:07]beck did it better we are all the way up to album two one nine my two one nine two one nine and from

[07:16]1995 it's the debut album of rayquan with only built for cuban links chef guys only built for

[07:27]cuban links that's named after a shirt i made for the new minnesota women's basketball player

[07:33]fidella castro oh cuban links wait a minute what about shayla govera i'm suspicious of these two

[07:42]oh no all right that's where i play the podcast theme when you want to hear about

[07:47]well the expansion draft was tonight and the valkyries grabbed a hawkeye of course like oh

[07:52]great we got kate martin super wow she's a popular player i'm not in my house but sure

[08:00]i mean she's probably a top 10 most known player in the country right now

[08:05]oh but that means i gotta cheer for her now um deal with it you have to like women's sports you

[08:12]keep bringing this up and i keep editing it out okay just get with the program i do like women's

[08:17]it's something else uh now listen okay you know what sport i love lingerie lingerie league

[08:25]remember that was a thing for a while football played lingerie hold on hold on hold on rob i

[08:33]have a story for you okay it existed but it was never a thing it existed okay

[08:41]okay i rob you're gonna gotta get rid of here okay i my cousin and i went to milwaukee probably

[08:50]like seven eight years ago to see the gophers play in the ncaa tournament they got blown out

[08:54]right away okay um wisconsin won the badgers fans are being a bit brutal neil from wisconsin i know

[09:00]that you claim your fans are always super nice to put you're full of shit when you say that they

[09:05]were rude as anyone could ever be i still love you neil from lakeville but your fans are extremely

[09:11]rude to opposing fans i hate to interrupt but what the fuck does this have to do with the lingerie

[09:15]league you're about to find out so instead of staying in milwaukee for two more days to watch

[09:20]the second round of the tournament because you know typically it's like a friday sunday or

[09:25]thursday saturday and you watch both sessions our team got knocked out against middle tennessee state

[09:31]so we decided we're not staying in milwaukee we're going to chicago for the other two days instead

[09:37]yeah we go to chicago we go to this bar to watch the gophers

[09:41]basketball all day and our bartender who was flirting with me all night rob wow was a lingerie

[09:47]football league player for the chicago lingerie football team met i met a real life lingerie

[09:54]football league rob look up chicago lingerie football team and see if we could find oh we

[09:58]gotta pick her out yeah chicago now was she had was she on the team or was she a senior dancer

[10:03]for the team no rob this may have been the chicago senior team but their lingerie is like all big

[10:11]it's like all big and chin it's like chicago bliss it's big beige underwear what what year would you

[10:16]get a look of like a year chicago bliss i wouldn't even i wouldn't even know the person if i if i saw

[10:22]her or anything she was very nice she was a great it was one of those where you were sitting there

[10:27]all day it was kind of like when we were in vegas with the lady from owatonna this is an hour and

[10:35]six minute video good pause by me this is an hour and six minute video of the chicago lingerie

[10:41]league football game okay let's watch it here dick butkus is the coach no that's not dick butkus

[10:46]gotta love the way he coaches the best rick butkus you google keys he's doing the other look at this

[10:53]so what we're watching is in lingerie football he's a champ women are wearing helmets and shoulder

[10:58]pads and knee pads i think and gloves oh no but they are just wearing lingerie as that game with

[11:05]their decolletage sticking right below the shoulder pad and they're playing on astro turf like they are

[11:11]full on tackling oh this is not a 25 yard field we'll pick up russell what did the bartender say

[11:18]i'm just gonna watch this a little bit more for science reasons what did the um bartender say

[11:22]about being a lingerie league football player uh this lady was was she was a wide receiver on the

[11:28]team i believe and she talked about how she was a huge fan of like wes welker some pro athlete and

[11:34]she was showing me all the like the uh direct messages or tweets she had back and forth with

[11:40]like a famous

[11:41]nfl receiver she had like gone to his camp and like you know really run routes and everything

[11:47]she was very serious about her lingerie football that was a nice toss sweep there that was a good

[11:51]play design cc aaron you're into lingerie football league now i guess i'm saying look up look up who

[11:57]their coach is see what he's doing now chicago this career chicago bliss there is something about

[12:02]the the production value of these videos that is very like 1995 ufc like always crazy type like

[12:11]video quality where you'd be watching a ufc fight that could easily go on for 45 minutes of two guys

[12:15]just on the ground hitting each other in the balls you're like this is the greatest video i've ever

[12:18]read it for blockbuster and your dad comes in as just two guys wrestling in speedos the beast

[12:24]severed let's go to the third paragraph down i'm like dad look at these guys they're right there

[12:29]wrestling each other in speedos my dad's like okay son what are you watching here

[12:32]is he fish hooking that man okay sydney lewis sydney lewis well no there's a guy who's been

[12:41]yeah okay well no we can do what keith hat coach chicago for nine seasons wow he went 29 and six

[12:48]and one they have ties the wing the winningest coach in league history i can't believe the

[12:55]lingerie league has ties i thought they would just have clasps okay so let's go to

[13:01]can you imagine trying to get those shoulder pads off with one hand smoothly good

[13:07]forget about it no way uh too many

[13:11]buckles where is keith hack now oh here we go coach hack okay he's got his instagram we're

[13:17]gonna find out what the coach private okay guess what we're gonna see if he follows you back

[13:23]you're wondering why we followed you we want to see what it was like in the lingerie league so

[13:29]that's something like really serious you know what lingerie league makes me think of slam ball

[13:34]it's kind of that nice same sport yeah in my head dodgeball like on the ocho or something like it's

[13:41]the fringe sports and espn but the lady she was super into her team and everything but i remember

[13:46]like she was talking about it and she showed me her stats and she had like one catch on the year

[13:51]and i'm like oh you're a backup like you don't you you're a receiver with no catches on the year

[13:56]she showed you her stats and she had one catch yeah what the fuck i love russell judging one

[14:04]catch in the lingerie league get the fuck out of here not even worth my time you're hitting on the

[14:11]league wide receiver and the music's blaring rob the music's blaring what what do you say to her

[14:17]you're at the bar what's your favorite route to run what hey i saw recently there's a trend of

[14:25]inside releases on the fade you want to try that oh my god hey how do you do with the mesh concepts

[14:31]oh you prefer to run the pick or not there's a real it seems like tight end leaks are really

[14:38]popular these days do you guys ever think about running one of those

[14:41]wow i'm creaming my jeans over here this is working switch the running back and

[14:45]in order to run a counter uh there there are two of our listeners that he died in lakefield that

[14:51]are feverishly beating it right now listen guys coach on instagram is all i'm reading right now

[14:57]he is the best i just can't get enough of it don't ever say beating it again russell that

[15:04]made me very uncomfortable very uncomfortable hey rob if you get a text in a few weeks from

[15:10]just remember

[15:11]accountability is number one all right listen okay we are back to the better we're talking

[15:18]about the top 500 list on the rolling stone magazine did you play a parody no i don't have

[15:23]a parody we thanks for pointing that out for us okay we're talking about rayquan the chef

[15:29]okay we played the beck song out of wu-tang we did play the beck song okay and i've got three

[15:33]guys here who ordered this album on vinyl and it came with pickles and swiss cheese there's only so

[15:40]many cuban stuff i know guys there's only tape do you guys like a cuban sandwich cubano little ham

[15:46]yeah i do in you know the best one is target field oh in the north loop area rob that's in

[15:55]minneapolis um matt where would you say that's relative to like hennepin and marquette and all

[16:00]those streets that you work by well it's like northwest technically right because you go to

[16:04]first avenue then over to second avenue so you got to go up to second avenue then you're right by the

[16:09]b in between the b and the c ramps literally nobody likes on your way to the northwest

[16:13]tony o's cuban sandwich that that's the that's the food item at target field you want to get if

[16:18]you want to be like i know what's going on that's i know the first time i ever had it was with russell

[16:23]at target field my first trip to target field was with russell we uh we went to a um a cuban

[16:30]restaurant down in florida and i'll never forget because the waitress hit on my dad like crazy

[16:36]and my dad totally fumbled the bag and i was like oh what are you doing i was like you know what i

[16:42]mean like when seeing your dad get hit on and watching him just totally fumble it you're just

[16:46]like it's like this is me this is the way it is and then when we leave we're like dad she was

[16:55]totally hitting it on you and he goes i don't think so and i was like god damn we're just like

[16:59]we're exactly the same cannot read it i've got russell in minneapolis russell the lights are

[17:04]about to go off i can sense it how are you doing tonight guys french vanilla butter pecan chocolate

[17:10]deluxe coming up in vegas this winter my caramel sundaes getting touched getting touched yes

[17:17]that's because we're going to do the sex worker thing we've been talking about if you want to use

[17:22]that caramel sundae line instead of the junior mint thing with your set coming up you go for it

[17:26]i'll let you use it i well you know what turtle sundae i think a turtle sundae is the funny joke

[17:30]i've got matt in minneapolis matt how are you doing

[17:34]good rob you're gonna need to uh stock up that toilet paper roll because throw down some money

[17:40]the ice cream man's coming oh wow you guys are obsessed with the ice cream with this album

[17:44]and i've got aaron out in california rob hold up hold up do you keep it on the back of the toilet

[17:50]always or is there like a little like a rack in front that you put it up in front no back of the

[17:56]toilet always always on the back yep yep it's always why is there complaints from the family

[18:00]members oh yeah jenny drives jenny crazy she hates it well that's why you do it

[18:04]no no it's because it's not fair i don't use the same amount of toilet paper i shouldn't have to

[18:09]okay guys no taxation without representation in this house your time is more important than

[18:17]theirs that's not what i'm saying and i'm not they gotta put it on they gotta change it out

[18:21]matt are they the main hosts of any podcast no that's true i don't think that's what i know of

[18:25]i you know what i you know what's the saddest thing oh my god i can't believe i'm gonna say

[18:29]this to you know what i told my wife today i wanted for christmas bring it for her to listen

[18:33]to one episode

[18:34]is it gonna be the bob dealin bob dealin

[18:39]whack off jack off let me let me explain to you what cryptids are

[18:44]what if she did listen to that when she's like why are you guys talking about cryptids i'd be like

[18:51]i don't remember why we're talking about cryptids i have no idea it was mermaids it was yeah it was

[18:59]something about mermaids and having sex with them i don't remember what it was and then she

[19:03]listened to that she's like okay i'm so glad i didn't hear that she's like okay i'm so glad i

[19:04]listened to that guys that's pathetic that i asked her to listen to that right

[19:07]listen i've got aaron out in california now earlier aaron was saying

[19:11]why do the makers of avocado avocados keep putting wooden balls in the middle

[19:16]i got another wooden ball i was hoping for the these king rigs suck yeah uh rob i love you like

[19:24]i love my dick size let's talk about oh my gosh aaron only built for cuban links absolutely love

[19:30]my penis like i that's a capadama line that's how many capadamas is it right

[19:34]every time you do every time that rob does something that he should do

[19:41]then you go you just put it on a platter and you invite it you invite it see it's not me

[19:47]it's actually you guys are bad influences on me let's get into the voicemail

[19:51]now this next call i did trace back and russell i hate to inform you this call was coming from

[20:03]inside your house

[20:04]i was informed tonight that i will be watching the jake paul and mike tyson fight instead i am

[20:12]watching buffering and freezing i asked to change the channel i was told to give it a chance how

[20:19]long do you allow this ridiculousness to go on before putting your foot down and demand your

[20:24]roommate hand over the remote wow russell oh this i mean when a british lady's saying it like you

[20:31]kind of gotta hand it over you can't be mucking about

[20:34]you you said just wait a second that's what you said

[20:38]hold hold on there's only so many times where mike tyson's fighting

[20:44]on pay-per-view or netflix or whatever yeah and we've got the big the 80 inch screen

[20:50]tv upstairs i'm watching this on the big screen right yeah how am i supposed to know netflix is

[20:56]gonna be buffering 80 inch tv what do you got up there you got oled qled what are you what are you

[21:01]working on oh aaron's tv shop so i bought a tv on cyber monday and i'm i'm i'm not sure i made the

[21:07]right choice what's how is it 80 inches how can you make a wrong choice man how big of a tv do

[21:14]you have like i should have gone higher i should have upgraded uh i think there's a either 55 or

[21:19]a yeah this is a 60 i think down here and i'm a samsung smart tv it's been great all right not

[21:25]only is russell taller than us and he's cooler than all of us he now has a bigger tv than all

[21:32]of us most of us already knew all this stuff rob that's that's crazy to me that russell has

[21:38]in case you wanted to feel better i was um i did have one of my nephews at thanksgiving a few weeks

[21:44]ago say i thought you dyed your hair white i'd explain no that's tough yes it was tough that's

[21:51]really tough it was right in the guts rob right

[21:54]but but so i wanted i wanted to watch the tyson fight and it kept buffering you guys all everyone

[22:01]everyone out there listening to this it had to experience the buffering at some point or where

[22:06]you lost you couldn't watch it and i i i kept trying and trying and trying and hoping that it

[22:12]would work and eventually i had to watch it on my phone but she wasn't thrilled that i kept trying

[22:17]to watch the tyson fight on the big screen what would you guys have done in that situation i would

[22:22]never ever ever

[22:24]ever well i'd like to say that i just wouldn't suggest it anymore but there's no way i'm watching

[22:30]that fight with my wife that's the craziest thing at all of all but but but matt the point is is like

[22:38]i thought she would just leave the room i thought she would she would depart

[22:42]she wasn't departing so what am i supposed to do go watch it on the small

[22:46]samsung not smart tv that's for sure not gonna work you know what russell for once i gotta agree

[22:52]with you a mike tyson fight is must see tv even if you gotta fight the buffering you're not turning

[22:57]on something else you gotta see that fight because you never know it might be mike tyson of old and

[23:03]not definitely a 65 year old man who was so out of shape it was it was and also at that point you're

[23:08]in the what's it was like the second round when that started or had i can't remember if it was it

[23:13]was right away it was it it was probably in our house an hour of of in and out buffering it was

[23:18]it was bad the whole time guys i have an apple tv directly watching it and i'm like oh my god i'm

[23:22]wired up to my internet no problem whatsoever on the apple tv it was flying i watched the whole

[23:26]fight and i'm such a people pleaser that you know what i did i got my zoom out on my phone with joe

[23:32]and john and i zoomed the fight to them so we could all watch it and talk about it you know

[23:36]what though we rob we've watched when you show us like football games and ufc and everything

[23:41]on the video you're watching it on the other end it is a horrible experience i know i appreciate

[23:48]that you do it you're a great guy for doing it but it is the choppiest the

[23:52]like you you there's no point in when you do that i i love you for doing it but no one can

[23:57]see anything when you do that that would explain why they kept saying we can't see what's going on

[24:02]that would make a lot more sense that's so weird that's something i spend a lot of time doing

[24:06]people pleasing turns out to not be that great that makes me think about things maybe maybe

[24:10]next time you should announce it before you do it well that's true too i that's i i do need to

[24:16]give people more of a runway to get on with my million different hobbies uh so listen erin were

[24:21]you inviting

[24:22]would you invite the wife to watch the mike mike tyson fight with air what did you think no where

[24:26]we going i ended up well you know stop stop stop stop i didn't invite anyone to watch it i just

[24:32]wanted to watch it on the big tv and i thought that was i don't know i think russell at that

[24:38]point you you say i'm gonna go watch this on a different tv i do you just like you got to cut

[24:43]your losses at some point or i don't or see if there's a is it playing at the bar down the street

[24:48]i don't know erin why are you tv shopping right now what's going on

[24:52]do you have a tv currently i have a tv but uh rob you don't want to get into this i got a tv but it

[24:58]has it has an it has arc but not e-arc right so that it doesn't quite work with the apple tv where

[25:05]it doesn't have it's an older sony it doesn't have audio pass-through so i can't send the audio

[25:11]directly so when i send the audio from the apple tv to the tv to the sonos it comes out in stereo

[25:18]if i want to put it in uh dolby digital 5.1 i can't send the audio directly to the sonos

[25:22]i got to have the apple tv directly i'm going to tell it to change the audio format then when i do

[25:27]that fucked up shit happens on the picture then when i watch sports on youtube tv the picture

[25:33]glitches so i have to watch sports in stereo i watch other things in dolby it's just an older tv

[25:37]that needs to be upgraded that's all what's up can i can i can i ask like hey hey for the upstairs

[25:42]roommate that heard that hey me watching mike tyson once in a while isn't so bad is it so you've

[25:48]got the old like you've got that

[25:50]you hear that

[25:52]we've got the apple tv like plug-in isn't that like out of out of tune like all the stuff you

[25:59]can get is just on your tv now even apple and all that stuff i don't know you don't even need that

[26:05]anymore i maybe not so yeah but then you get into the smart tv thing like what's happened to me now

[26:10]where i got a smart tv and it's just slow as shit now like you push a button and it's waiting it's

[26:15]chugging to go it's it just can't update you don't want to have these conversations rob

[26:19]it's the worst

[26:22]question for you guys i'm helping i'm going to be getting my mom a new tv and she is not like the

[26:26]technically most proficient person in the world she does normal cable and she has netflix but

[26:33]she's never had netflix on her tv she's only watched it on her ipad for classic mom is there

[26:38]a way to get netflix and the tv like what is it a smart tv is a roku box where you're going through

[26:45]input what is the way that you would make it the it's not i can do it on my smart tv but that's too

[26:51]remote like what's the easiest way to help your parent do what one streaming device and cable if

[26:57]you get an amazon smart tv there is a netflix button on the remote that will take her right

[27:03]to netflix because jenny does not that's jenny's a brat you know jay's a brat with the remote she

[27:11]will never use the remote she doesn't know how the remote works she doesn't know i told her to

[27:15]push down on the remote and she looked for a button called down instead of the remote and she looked at

[27:21]the down arrow she does not know how to use the remote it's crazy so when she has to use it she

[27:27]can't figure it out so those netflix buttons actually help her i'm like dating uh an older

[27:34]woman that's what's happening now you've been yeah you've been married for a while actually

[27:37]yeah we're kind of stepping back from that we're going back to date let's see i know that's gonna

[27:40]go okay you're dating your best friend that's yeah my best friend i'm gonna get that down

[27:50]we're talking about technical stuff i know this is early in the pocket i'm gonna bring it up

[27:54]anyways it's not that early anymore i've started look i've started looking at record players you

[27:59]guys have told you i've got to update it yep aaron there are certain record players that

[28:03]have a preamp built in to the record player and other ones where you have to buy a separate preamp

[28:09]right and now i don't even know what a preamp looks like i had to google what is a preamp like

[28:15]is it a big receiver is it a little thing i plug in for the for the person like me

[28:20]do i go with a built-in preamp to make it easier or should i be buying a separate preamp and what

[28:26]does that even fucking look like the preamp can be my preamp i'll send you a picture my preamp is a

[28:31]little red box it's not pretty it's a it's a about the size of a i don't know what you'd like a like

[28:37]an old pencil sharpener and it's got some lights and some knobs and stuff on it and it's what

[28:43]amplifies the sound so like if you know if you drop the needle on your record and you put your

[28:50]finger on it it's playing right like it's playing i know this cds are built differently than records

[28:54]records are going to need a preamp to get it to certain to get loud enough yeah so now what

[28:59]sheldon at champlifier told me long ago is that the the record players with the built-in preamp

[29:07]the sound is not going to be as good that's what he told me so i have an external now did this guy

[29:11]also sell preamps let me ask you do you sell preamps oh no he did no actually no he did not

[29:17]sell preamps but he did rip out the preamp of my record player and i'm not going to lie to you

[29:20]oh audio technology for a price so yeah yeah so i what he told me is it's a better sound if you get

[29:27]an external preamp i don't know if i could hear the difference so for simplicity yes get the one

[29:32]with the internal preamp but and then audio files will tell you it's going to be better if you have

[29:37]an external preamp yeah and by the way russell the guy saying that that's better is the guy who

[29:41]will charge you a fee to rip out your preamp okay aaron is literally just getting scammed over and

[29:50]going rob rob's got to be at a pool in five hours oh my god rolling going aaron rolling going how's

[29:57]it going with you uh it's going great i want to share uh i just want to oh wow yeah i gotta i

[30:03]gotta share with you some stuff that's going on on the rockridge whiskey club so i don't know if

[30:07]i've told you this oh there's a whiskey club in the neighborhood uh there's a gentleman who has

[30:13]i think i went to the whiskey tasting i told you this story right yeah so so carl who lives in the

[30:20]whiskey tastings carl good to see you nice to see you not only does the whiskey tastings but he also

[30:31]somehow happens upon a whiskey deal from time to time and then blesses the rest of us with that

[30:36]deal and we get in on it and we venmo him for the price and then eventually i walk over and pick up

[30:40]a nice bottle of whiskey and he you know i'm sure he does better out of the deal and i get something

[30:44]that i wouldn't be able to find at the store but today oh so yesterday by the way yesterday was

[30:50]repeal day happy repeal day to those who celebrate um also if you're a teetotaler that's fine too

[30:55]uh but today oh i thought you're talking about your persimmons again i was like now he's

[31:01]repealing them i mean he can't just peel them once you gotta repeal them yeah what the heck

[31:05]i'm telling you man they're so like that's three out of four weeks with persimmons

[31:09]our spotify rap is going down yeah mark your bingo card you're back to the better bingo card

[31:15]so he texted us today with not a whiskey deal but a vermouth deal which you know i mean

[31:20]vermouth deal i gotta get in so he said why that today carpano antigas you know you know i mean

[31:29]carpano is the best vermouth out there and so sweet vermouth is the red bottle aaron yeah dumb

[31:34]shit's out there red bottle so like the dolan is good right like dolan's a good sweet vermouth but

[31:38]i think carpano is the next step up isn't vermouth like what you drink when you're when you have a

[31:42]problem and it's the only stuff left in your cabinet like isn't it like the last resort it's

[31:50]like it's not so strange all right all the fancy cocktails boulevard yay so he says today

[31:57]carpano antigas sweet vermouth is normally 30 or more 30 or more for a 750 but now you can have

[32:06]15 50 milliliter bottles for ten dollars what airplane bottles yes that's somehow he happened

[32:13]upon a deal where there are 15 airplane bottles can you imagine like i come visit you this january

[32:20]like we've talked about i'm like hey whatever you want to make here and i would love a cocktail

[32:24]and i sit there and i'm looking over yeah and you're making me a drink with airplane bottles

[32:28]of booze yeah and little tiny bottles of soda like the small cans like the little cans but the

[32:35]thing about vermouth is vermouth goes bad you have to keep in the fridge so he said i was gonna ask

[32:39]you this yes so he says the bonus is that a 750 you have to refrigerate but not these because

[32:45]they're the perfect size to make cocktails so everybody on this thread is going i'll take four

[32:50]i'll take five this year like these are like 15 packs everyone's taking like 45 15 packs of them

[32:55]i don't i don't even know how many i should take at this point he finally said he bought

[32:59]768 bottles i don't oh my gosh it's insane what is going on i know him for whatever my share is

[33:09]i'll have a nice just for how did you make a package how did you make your millions oh i scammed

[33:13]all my neighbors that are buying booze from me yeah hey would you would you buy tons of baby

[33:18]bottles of sweet vermouth for me i don't know how many i should take at this point

[33:20]no well then i wouldn't scam you you're not as dumb as my dumb neighbors

[33:24]have you guys ever had anything like this like the thing that i'm you know i think i had a buddy uh

[33:31]uh it might be dan from south st paul i believe used to do this he would buy the

[33:35]the knockoff jerseys from overseas and he'd be like hey guys i'm buying like the i'm buying

[33:41]50 jerseys like if you want the michael canire with the wrong number like i got you you know

[33:48]so like have you got

[33:50]ever been the person in the group where it's like i'm i'm ordering the stuff and you guys got to get

[33:56]it from me like what's been your thing man i feel like you would be like i've i've ordered the

[34:01]sweatshirts for everyone or well like what's your i mean i've done that i don't i just you know like

[34:06]this richfield one i got on right now right the guy oh yeah ukraine did that and so i set up the

[34:11]fundraiser or we just ordered a bunch of stuff like that but um i can't think of anything like

[34:16]scammy like it's not scammy it's just he's the hookup

[34:20]yeah the miniature booze bottle guy but at first i was like no i'm good because i got a bottle of

[34:24]carpano in the fridge it's gonna last long enough i'm good and then everybody's jumping he texted

[34:29]you and he says hey do you want some of this you're like i'm good you couldn't say like i'll

[34:32]take like eight mini bottles like for 20 bucks 15 so everyone's ordering them in packs of 15 so

[34:39]when someone says i'll take four that's 60 bottles

[34:42]somebody on the street tried to sell me mini bottles of vermouth i'd be like well no

[34:47]why what are you talking about that's it's an

[34:50]it's kind of brilliant because i've had this i don't drink enough cocktails with vermouth but

[34:55]like once in a while i'll be like i need to try this for the podcast or something and i'll buy a

[35:00]bottle i'm like it's been sitting in the fridge for like four months i don't know this is still

[35:03]good i have no idea if you had a mini bottle you wouldn't have that problem oh damn aaron signed me

[35:09]up i'll route this so that you could take a reasonable barcode i'm gonna double my order

[35:14]and i'll send one to russell so that's really going with me i'm in the booze business how's

[35:19]it going going with matt uh good rob i found my pillow last week so i think it's lisa i think

[35:29]it's how it's pronounced l-e-e-s-a and it's the hybrid okay so you've got the big it's got it's

[35:35]got quadrants you got the big fluffy part and then the back side is the cooling what you're

[35:40]looking at on the other side of the pillow so that's the cooling there and it actually does

[35:44]cool but what i like about this one because we talked about this right is that my arm goes

[35:49]underneath oh just like this lady here my arm goes underneath the fluffy part and then your

[35:54]head's on the cool part but this i'm gonna i'm gonna call bullshit this isn't this is like

[35:58]under the elbow i'm i'm all the way up like the crook of the shoulder is underneath

[36:03]a pillow you're getting like you're essentially sleeping your ears on your shoulder so that's

[36:08]how i do it but you got the fluffy part underneath for your arm and you've got the

[36:11]cool part for your head and it's like 120 bucks or something out of stock so here oh but i'm keeping

[36:18]it putting a bookmark i'm gonna buy this tomorrow but we're gonna try this is the i i have considered

[36:23]i have considered i have not done it yet but traveling going back to getting rid of my

[36:30]duffel bag and going back to a roller bag and checking it and taking my pillow because this

[36:36]pillow is that good i have considered i have not done it yet russell i've not gone crazy yet but

[36:42]devoted to this pillow the uh the hotel pillows are so bad compared to this pillow and i'm so

[36:47]used to this one i've considered it i've considered it i've considered it i've considered it i've

[36:48]considered just traveling with my pillow is it true that your pillow is five feet long and it

[36:53]has a picture of marge simpson naked on it and that's why you're bringing it to hotels that's

[36:57]not marge simpson all right matt i think there's something about hotel beds they're just hard as a

[37:03]rock they are there's something about them that's kind of intriguing i don't mind i don't mind the

[37:09]the blankets agree the mattress it's the damn pillows yeah i can't figure out yeah suck i hear

[37:17]it man okay you know what i'm gonna have to put it on my pillow i'm gonna have to put it on my pillow

[37:18]i'm gonna have to buy this pillow i gotta try it russell's right though some of those nights you

[37:21]spend in a hotel you lay down you know this thing's super hard and then you wake up at 8 a.m

[37:24]and you're like i i didn't move the entire night something that was fantastic yes

[37:28]something about pillow ads i like because you get to see a lot of women sleeping

[37:33]and she is wearing pajamas uh the upstairs room and now we're having a discussion we've talked

[37:41]about this a week ago with the fancy what's your pajama style like you guys aren't wearing the

[37:45]jerry seinfeld like the full suits what's your pajama style like you guys aren't wearing the

[37:48]what what are you i think we've talked about this but i've got about i've got about five pair of

[37:52]shorts and two of them are so old that they just need to be thrown away they're just not they're

[37:57]hardly holding up doing anything but i'm just a regular old gym shorts and a t-shirt kind of guy

[38:04]we've we've done this before yeah we definitely have i am a robe guy i've got a robe that i will

[38:10]wear around if i need to i thought you called that something else though no that's what you

[38:15]you sleep naked then is that what your deal is what

[38:18]my robe i called a robe what else would i call it no no i thought you bought one overseas like

[38:23]a special one oh my caftan yeah that's totally different that's i wear that with my speedo

[38:30]that's different you had that at your sister's but when i sleep i am now just going full briefs

[38:37]guy i'm like full-time brief guide now and i'm sleeping in them guys oh you sleep with your

[38:42]briefs on yes now featuring your dad's balls just like everybody thinks about briefs and that's

[38:48]like everything feels fine or you're like i gotta get these briefs off oh i gotta get them off it's

[38:53]a nightmare when i wear briefs in bed oh it's the worst it feels like they're like stuck on me too

[38:59]i'm like get this off get me in the shower with the hot shower head blasting on my balls because

[39:05]it just like held on there i've been wearing briefs all night good lord i gotta get that shot

[39:10]that man's been telling us about so the only other thing i had is that i've uh my apologies to magic

[39:17]mike 69

[39:18]and then chicago guy i i deleted instagram off my phone i no longer have you wow i did a better

[39:24]instagram but just such a fucking waste of time scrolling it's hilarious there's such funny things

[39:32]my god is it such a waste of time it's a time yeah i gave up facebook i had facebook for about

[39:38]three years i never used it i gave it up i have had no i'm a i admittedly i'm kind of a linkedin

[39:43]guy i like seeing what's going on like professional industry world i like it too

[39:47]very big linking matt's a linkedin guy too if they're from havana they'd be on cuban linkedin

[39:53]we'd be talking about it on this album

[39:55]so i'm a linkedin guy but i don't do any of the social and i feel like i am i i feel like i i have

[40:04]a different level of uh not giving a shit by not having it no i i've i've gotten into reddit a

[40:10]little bit just to like follow what other people are saying kind of things with that yeah but i

[40:16]mean it's

[40:17]i don't go down rabbit holes but like when news stories happen i don't know it's like

[40:21]stuff like i am pounding down hours of tiktok a day including when i'm walking the dog i'm

[40:28]watching tiktoks okay i am not really reading a book right now i'm not really watching any movies

[40:32]i am wasting my life watching tiktok and guess what i'm not gonna stop i love every minute of

[40:38]it i couldn't tell you a single video i've watched over the last three days where i've watched like

[40:42]10 hours of it but i love it i can't get enough it's great rob you should check out this danny

[40:47]tiktok channel i've been into for the last few years his penis looks like it's the rest of his

[40:53]body that should be the tiktok channel i should have a tiktok channel where i talk about that

[40:56]stuff uh i guess the finally the last thing in netflix i don't know we used we used to ask like

[41:02]what are you reading what are you watching netflix like the first five episodes we tried

[41:06]doing that whole thing uh there's a show called the madness and i don't know who the actor is

[41:11]but he is phenomenal and i'm halfway through the show and i cannot watch it fast enough it is

[41:17]so i feel you guys need to give us a plot in one sentence uh is the cream always rises to the top

[41:24]we've got a guy uh who's who's a cnn like contributor he just wants to get away to go

[41:35]read his book and so he goes out to the poconos he's just gonna sit down write his book comes

[41:41]across a murder and then he gets set up for the murder and that's kind of where it goes from there

[41:47]to try to figure his way out of it so it's great i'm going to drink cream and i hope it doesn't

[41:52]affect my heart i see those jealous netflix watchers matt

[42:01]by the way did you see matt texas that's a picture of the remote russell with the netflix button

[42:07]it was it's i love my netflix here love my i'm focused on the podcast not my phone during the

[42:17]so it's all right absolutely rolling going how's it going with you rolling going things are good

[42:22]rob hit the music we're going back to the tournament it's time for another round

[42:27]i panicked and i hit the waterbed corner oh yeah rob you know what my favorite thing of

[42:36]this podcast is doing is when rob's not expecting it's hit the music

[42:40]it really stresses me out hey by the way david barrett luther bay

[42:47]and ross not this one but very similar to one shining moment

[42:50]i can't remember a while back we did talk about the tournament when we had uh

[42:58]john from edina on or it was some we had to be the guest on it or it was it was actually a little

[43:03]rosy whitey they called little rosie we talked about it so we're going back to the bottom of

[43:07]the bracket because i don't know where we left off at the top of the all right here we go but

[43:11]here's where we're starting in round two rob who you taking this is best so let me be clear this is

[43:16]best co-host right this is who you would want to be your co-host when aaron or matt is this the only

[43:22]tournament we have going on currently do we only have one tournament going on well we'll have to

[43:27]fix that that's a crazy all-time low number of tournaments we have running concurrently russell

[43:31]you can't come up with a couple more tournaments come on rob in the kick-ass in the kick-ass

[43:37]co-host regional round two it's rob's sister versus sarah p from eden prairie who may or may

[43:43]not have been a late ad because they were left out of the original round two round two round two

[43:46]original first round they don't have to admit that russell let's see matt i thought that's what

[43:52]you would i want to take rob who would i want to take what i want to take for rob i'll take sarah

[43:58]sorry oh sister names names okay i'll take sarah sorry whatever sister

[44:07]russ was talking about not knowing that i have two sisters okay sorry you're out

[44:13]unfortunately for you she is already co-hosting a podcast with

[44:16]the pleasure principle so you are out she already ditched you for the pleasure principle that would

[44:21]be a bummer rob is the dentist still listening we haven't heard from her lately and we've probably

[44:26]really pissed her off no she is and she she said she thinks it's funny when you guys try to get me

[44:34]talk about dental stuff i was like it's not funny it really stresses me out they know that they know

[44:41]you're gonna get mad because she was legitimately mad but now she's something about my sister all

[44:46]also listens but rarely will ever comment she did ask i think i talked about this she did ask is rob

[44:52]really like this or is it really a character and i was like no it is it's very very similar no it's

[44:59]not i am a fucking character you guys i am not like this how could i be like this all day

[45:05]how could i be like this it would be unacceptable to society

[45:09]11 57 game time we've got rob's brother-in-law who read a voicemail about his hobbies

[45:16]versus meatloaf meatloaf let's get it can we get a meatloaf impression rob let's hear some meatloaf

[45:24]paradise by the dashboard light please go rob hit the music meatloaf hey

[45:28]no wait no you dumb shit that's the big problem i think meatloaf is like this right hey this is

[45:35]meatloaf that song paradise by the dashboard lights russell do you want to guess what that's

[45:39]about and i'll give you a hint it starts with two starts with two f's no no we're not two f's

[45:45]one

[45:46]one

[45:46]binding forever it's fast food i was around in the basin you can't you can't just fall back i'm

[45:53]like a uh not not a covid believer or something it's that that's too hard russell when it came

[45:59]to putting on a mask you know what i always said what's that i would do anything for love

[46:07]but i won't do that i don't just it's gonna slip into the boss so rob is it meatloaf or

[46:16]is your co-host i gotta go with the brother-in-law sorry meatloaf you're back to hell okay where

[46:21]you're living currently all right did i am taking my brother-in-law in the bracket so my sister's out

[46:27]brother-in-law in 12 17 tip off we've got matt from new york who called about public bda once

[46:35]versus bigger stronger faster rob it's jeff from apple valley

[46:40]wow you know what sometimes i would want to be

[46:46]you're starting it's not it's not wrong hey just a heads up rob

[46:51]matt doesn't laugh at a lot of my jokes but when i do bigger stronger faster

[46:56]like that was was he strongest i mean faster for sure but strong not strong he was not

[47:02]let's be clear about that he was not well he could he could actually power clean more than

[47:07]me if you want to get technical well yeah more powerful but that's different here's the thing

[47:12]is i know for a fact jeff powers how you express strength it's not your strength it's not your

[47:15]strength exactly last names rob what are we doing jeff bigger faster stronger rob i know for a fact

[47:22]does not and will not ever listen to this show so i know he has so i have to but it would be nice

[47:31]for me to have a co-host where i wouldn't have to talk the whole damn time i could just sit there

[47:34]be quiet like man i think that'd be kind of fun so i'm gonna take jeff uh from apple valley he's

[47:39]gonna be my co-host so i can just sit there and not say anything jeff won't listen podcast no he

[47:45]does not listen he's listened to i think when once we sent him something inappropriate he did

[47:50]he's once he's he's once again smarter than me he doesn't listen to this podcast hey rob um i i part

[47:57]of this tournament is for you to um uh give put downs to our other listeners why is matt from new

[48:04]york not a good co-host why did you not want to pick him i thought he would be a great co-host for

[48:08]you i think one time he invited me to a party then i then he did let me go you don't know you don't

[48:15]you don't show that purpose oh i do feel bad about that i still feel bad all right this is the last

[48:23]quadrant for the day it's the 12 12 57 matchup it's your cousin emerson versus the big papa baby

[48:32]the big papa i've got to go i'll go with my cousin emerson okay what i had to go with my

[48:40]cousin emerson sorry big papa you're out okay people it's actually bruce guest host

[48:45]it's it's hard for people to uh the big bobber jokes i can't come up with any new ones it's the

[48:51]same ones over and over so we're going with emerson as the ghost plus he is a real person

[48:56]whose feelings would be hurt if i didn't pick him so there you go beatles i should have him back

[49:00]oh it's aaron i think he's passed on that opportunity for sure yeah he's smart enough

[49:08]speaking of big hits rob roland going how's it going with you two things number one real quick

[49:15]christmas cards came in oh hey oh you know years ago you know and i know from this year or last

[49:22]year from this year okay jenny picked out pictures the girls hated every picture they're like what

[49:27]this is the worst picture of all of us of course we only have like three pictures of all four of us

[49:32]so we get it i know listen you know i know they those cards ain't going nowhere they're not getting

[49:41]sent out every year we just bring him to vegas with the end hander just bring him to vegas with

[49:44]the end hander just bring him to vegas with the end hander just bring him to vegas with the end hander

[49:44]just bring him to vegas with the end hander at least this year she only did a hundred she's

[49:47]like well if i need more i'll order more i was like thank god because normally it's like 400

[49:52]and it's just nobody sent it it's crazy oh by the way she wrote down what we're all doing guess

[49:59]what she writes for me what's that podcasting oh that's what we wanted to do right that's what we

[50:05]do humiliating to say podcasting on the christmas card jenny a doctor publishing speaking at

[50:14]podcasting i'm a fucking you wanted to say your karaoke club what would be more what would what

[50:21]would give you more props well probably the problem is if anybody who gets this christmas

[50:26]card like ask what the podcast is that's going to be extra humiliating they listen to it and i can't

[50:32]give it out at work now i can't give out the christmas card at work at all tell them to go

[50:36]to the episode with the tournament they'll love that i'll tell i'll send them right to the bob

[50:39]dylan one it's our most popular episode we got to recommend that one apparently second thing

[50:44]there's a guy on the island every time we run into each other he's an old guy yeah every time

[50:50]we run into each other he goes hey and he tells me jokes he'll tell me a joke and then walk away

[50:56]the jokes you never know they will vary from corny to some of the dirtiest jokes that you've

[51:02]ever heard in your entire life and they will range anywhere from about five seconds to

[51:07]three minutes hey hey hey hold up rob take your headphones off that's that jokes that range from

[51:14]dirty to super corny can you imagine could you imagine if we had someone on this podcast who

[51:21]told super corny jokes and then super dirty jokes oh my goodness oh it would be too much

[51:26]put it back on well it's just that ff could stand for so much stuff if you really think about it

[51:34]next thing you know next thing you know he's gonna be telling us about this guy on the island

[51:38]who was yelled at santa claus a few weeks ago i hear a joke on tiktok that this guy

[51:43]i'm like this guy's gonna fucking love this joke i've never told him a joke so i see him and i go

[51:49]hey hey dominic dominic i go i got a joke for you i go bank robber goes into a bank okay tells

[51:55]everybody get on the floor his mask falls off he says the guy on the floor did you see my face

[52:00]the guy goes yeah so he shoots him second guy goes he said do you see my face the guy goes yeah

[52:06]he shoots him and you know what dominic did he stole your punchline he took the joke he

[52:13]finished the joke for me he goes oh yeah i know that one and i was like what he told a joke and

[52:21]then he got me back with a joke i was like this isn't this is the ultimate destruction of me like

[52:27]it's a counter and a punch back it's a knockout punch i was humiliated so what was the punchline

[52:32]yeah i'm curious okay you guys asked for it the third guy said he said did you see my face the

[52:39]third guy goes no but my wife did it's time for nobody's face

[52:43]the show let's talk about the album

[52:45]you guys have go-to jokes for for joke time when people start telling jokes you have go-to i have

[52:52]two two one is a one is a pleasure principle do you want me to tell it and give the pleasure

[52:58]principle oh yeah is that fair or not is there usually it's two of them that are very good one

[53:03]is from the pleasure principle buddy kenny i believe but this is an all-timer um this is

[53:10]there's two sausages in a frying pan

[53:13]the one sausage says man it's getting hot in here the other sausage says ah i'm talking sausage

[53:20]that one like improves with the delivery too you got it down russell you nailed it

[53:24]the other one is a pirate joke could i hey allow me to do a pirate joke can i do a pirate if i may

[53:31]please you seeing how i'm doing this you know maybe i should take show up at rob i can tell

[53:36]you when i did a pie rating it's when i gave a movie 3.14 stars i mean that's fucking good

[53:43]good good job rob and the pleasure principle would like that one yeah he would there's two

[53:50]things he loves math and just blasted loads he loves math and making babies his two favorite

[54:00]things hey one plus one equals two he knows that better than any of us you know the thing is though

[54:06]like it like 50 years ago like he would not be accused of blowing too many loads right he would

[54:13]like we people just don't have as many kids these days yeah yeah no he's he's true it's like him and

[54:20]elon musk it's him it's nick carter i would put it with this nick carter you mean nick cannon i think

[54:29]you mean nick cannon nick cannon you're right i don't mean nick and my buddy kevin from nashville

[54:35]who i saw over thanks to him he's got 11 kids no at some point i mean that's you would have

[54:43]to try a male sex toy you know what i mean like those crazy ones you see where it looks like it's

[54:47]like it's that thing that shaves cheese or it goes around in a circle but you put it on your dong

[54:51]what all right let's talk about the album it's time for nobody's favorite part of the show

[54:57]let's tell the venus for men i'm not gonna look it up oh yeah okay this kind of a sexy album too

[55:04]and i'm gonna say this i'm gonna edit it out but the venus for men is famous because it can make

[55:08]you even if you can't get an erection um can i please tell my pirate joke

[55:13]yeah i was kind of hoping we hear your joke yeah i'm just rob tries to keep going by everybody

[55:18]else's joke okay i've got a good joke this is a pirate joke i would appreciate you to play along

[55:23]and don't steal the punchline rob if you know the punchline you just send it out i would never do

[55:26]that all right what what is a pirate's favorite class in school what what is art

[55:36]what is a pirate's favorite basketball

[55:42]player artist gilmore kareem abdul-jabbar

[55:48]what is a pirate's favorite branch of the military

[55:55]what rob give it to me the navy you motherfucker dumb shit piece of shit

[56:03]like like if i've ever wanted to quit a podcast board

[56:07]it's the army oh you're supposed to say it's the army and

[56:12]then i go no you dumb shit they're sailors it's the navy no you've oh i get it you have the worst

[56:18]fuck i did maybe you should skip your fucking thing i didn't know that was horrible he told

[56:23]you you just did the exact same thing that you did you're only going about the guy stole your

[56:28]joke that you just did it right back to russell i know this one it's the navy to be fair does

[56:34]fill me with a kind of power i could see myself getting addicted to i love this feeling when

[56:38]rob was telling his role and going he did goes and guess what happened instead of me

[56:42]saying what i said he stole your joke yeah russell did it first kind of kind of goes both ways yeah

[56:48]yeah exactly aaron you got a good party joke i mean i got one i really like that's kind of long

[56:53]so we're getting late in the night i don't know if you want to hear it of course we do all right so

[56:59]uh this guy's walking down the street hey rob rob why don't you shut the fuck up during this

[57:04]bunch and a bird shits on his shoulder and it turns out that the bird is called a foo and he's

[57:12]off his shoulder and he immediately trips over a crack on the sidewalk and falls and hurts himself

[57:16]he's really frustrated and he thinks that's because the bird shat on his shoulder and then

[57:21]next day same thing happens the bird shits on his shoulder and he brushes off right away and

[57:27]then immediately he slams his uh finger in the car door when he's trying to get in the car and

[57:31]so he thinks you know that's it's got to be it like that the the foo is what fucked me up here

[57:36]very next day he goes out again the foo shits on his shoulder and he says

[57:42]i don't i can't deal with this anymore i'm just going to leave it on there that very day he gets

[57:46]a promotion at work he takes his lady out she proposes to him he has the best day of his life

[57:52]everything is fine it's all wonderful do you know the moral of the story what is it if the foo shits

[57:59]wear it

[58:00]rob didn't hear it he was sneezing

[58:07]what's going on right

[58:10]he's right

[58:12]he can't help it

[58:15]it is in his bones that he's not looking to let anyone else tell a joke

[58:20]this is the guy who supposedly sits in the front row of all the like hey it's the comedy show

[58:26]case here and we haven't we know he's a piece of shit but we're gonna laugh at his jokes anyways

[58:32]and rob's like the guy who's like sneezing over his big like finish

[58:36]took our listeners will be enjoying it they're laughing they're still laughing so hard they need

[58:41]to recover anyway nobody asked but i have a joke too uh aaron i'll do it with aaron aaron knock knock

[58:46]who's there no no yeah wait okay here we go yeah knock knock we're never gonna land this plane

[58:53]who's there two two who to whom all right let's talk about the album let's talk about the show

[59:03]let's talk about rain rain ghost

[59:05]i this so this is rayquan's debut

[59:11]album and a lot of people say this is the most acclaimed solo wu-tang album i know liquid sword

[59:17]is a big one a lot of people are saying this is the top one and this is coming out as saying it's

[59:22]an inspiration for the mafioso rap genre that comes out after this with uh reasonable doubt

[59:29]by jay-z life after death by biggie this album comes out this is a year after enter the wu-tang

[59:36]it comes out it debuts at number four on the billboard 200

[59:40]think about that that's a crazy it comes out hits that right away the uh basically the album is uh

[59:47]rayquan and ghostface killer with reza as the director this album i didn't realize it but it

[59:54]has every member of the wu-tang clan on it it's basically like them all just getting together in

[59:59]a different way like aaron how does this work why is this a rayquan album and not a wu-tang album

[60:03]this was rizzo's or yeah this was the rizzo's whole game plan was he signed the wu to i don't

[60:09]know which record label wu-tang was signed to a record label and then his plan was each individual

[60:14]member of wu-tang would be signed to a different label so they could just keep turning churning out

[60:19]music he had control over it he controlled the masters and so it was just a way to pump out more

[60:24]music and keep control over their own stuff they were a great business collective and so

[60:29]a lot of these wu solo albums because rizzo was behind the boards and because all of the

[60:34]eventually all the wu is going to show up on this uh the same with liquid swords uh same

[60:38]with iron man by um ghost and supreme plantel to some degree uh all these others this was his his

[60:46]plan was we're gonna do a bunch of wu solo albums that come out under the you know on different

[60:50]labels under a solo name but it's they're going to be wu albums and so eventually you know i think

[60:56]rizzo reaps the benefits more than most but they all they all do well as a result well yeah because

[61:01]rizzo basically took they they were in his basement or whatever they're in his studio

[61:05]there were no engineers he controlled the whole board

[61:08]he did everything and i do think some of this i think could be i could stand for it being maybe

[61:13]a little bit remastered i thought some of it there's a couple times where i was like i wish

[61:16]this sounded a little bit better it's got a dusty sort of sound to it yeah exactly but he said that

[61:21]basically it was just they were just like making beats and and he would say well i got this beat

[61:26]and it's going to be for this person and then uh rayquan would just start writing and rapping over

[61:31]it and that's how the song came out i mean this album all these wu solo albums from from what it

[61:36]is 94 to 97 or so like just this golden era of wu-tang was you could pick any one of them they're

[61:42]all great they all have varying levels of who's involved but rizzo is generally the mastermind

[61:47]behind the sound russell did you look up what cuban links were i had to right away what is it

[61:53]it is the reference to the necklaces they would wear they would wear gold necklaces made with the

[61:57]cuban links which is a kind of style hey rob if you uh if you check your mail this week you may

[62:03]be getting a puka shell necklace from me as a christmas gift

[62:06]wow oh russell you know that makes me think i'm kidding i didn't get you oh i i was thinking

[62:13]destination you know what i'm saying aaron like a destination like maybe we all need to get a

[62:17]shell wedding maybe a hotel i had lunch with uh barry from burnsville and joe from woodbury this

[62:24]i saw that how was that that you had a downtown lunch with two of our college buddies yeah and

[62:29]we talked about this like man really fucking need a excuse to all get together we talked about it

[62:36]i mean you i mean maybe you could also talk about why barry from burnsville hasn't been to vegas with

[62:40]us in 15 years right he's coaching this is last year coaching he's coaching bantams this year and

[62:45]one of our kids has to play a game without us coaching this is last year coaching

[62:51]well his kid because his younger one will be in high school that's a change

[62:55]end of an era that's hats off man that reminds me of one of the seminars i'm

[63:00]putting on in my sex clinic that i'm running which is downtown it's downtown lunch

[63:06]all right let's get into the album striving for perfection chapter two is there any is there any

[63:13]taco john special at your lunch special robber or not yeah you do get a pound of tots or whatever

[63:18]as well man fuck all the 24 potato olay sorry i'll tell you what i listened to this album today

[63:26]walking around at headphones around new york city and i felt like i was on top of the world

[63:32]i was unstoppable i felt like the biggest badass of all time

[63:36]this is a like hardcore album don't you think aaron like would you describe it as

[63:42]it's not like it feels like less playful yeah it sounds like it's a it's a serious album it's a

[63:49]winter album it's cold it's deep it's deep you you can listen to it over and over again and not

[63:55]catch everything they're talking about i mean that's what i've ghostface is you know one of

[63:58]my favorite rappers of all time for some reason i've not been as into rick wand but ghost is is

[64:03]you know one of my favorites i never know what exactly he's talking about i don't know what he's

[64:06]talking about but i just love it i love the mindset it puts you into you just kind of let

[64:10]it wash over you you might catch some of it on one listen you might get 20 listens in i can tell

[64:16]you this how is this not a ghostface killer album he's all over this it's been a ghost album right

[64:21]he's on here as much as right mostly him uh knowledge god this has somebody sniffing cocaine

[64:27]in the background you can hear it but like this

[64:36]is this i don't remember wu-tang being this violent and i didn't listen to a ton of wu-tang

[64:40]but don't you remember what he was going to do with that hot poker in the first album well that's

[64:44]actually an advanced course at my sex clinic so i and rob now that you're on these pills

[64:50]he was also going to keep feeding you and feeding you if i remember correctly yeah

[64:54]that's the whole thing with who was they're just ridiculous they i mean and i think they you know

[64:59]probably were experienced in crime on some level in their real life and then they took it to these

[65:04]you know

[65:05]comic book levels of of violence in their verses aaron is there like a go-to wu-tang book or what

[65:13]what's your what's the source for all the wood like because you got all the info like is it just

[65:17]wow is there a book or is just everything you're reading or what's or i know you were on the

[65:21]message board everything i know about the wu-tang is from the message board it's in the early 2000s

[65:26]that's what i that's what i'm gonna give it to you anything i'm learning take anything i'm saying

[65:31]take with a grain of salt because it's from either from listening to most of these things a lot this

[65:35]isn't as much but it's either from listening or from a lot of time spent on the message boards i

[65:40]mean i'm sure yeah there are books like rizzo's published books rizzo's done documentaries himself

[65:44]there's a lot of wu mystique out there there's some great interviews with ghosts that are

[65:49]recorded but yeah for me it was the message boards aaron let's talk about the famous wu-tang

[65:54]song or album that's recorded that someone paid all the money for what what's up with that martin

[66:00]shakrelli yeah was that wu-tang forever that he paid for yeah he bought the one copy of it right

[66:05]someone someone

[66:05]rob start from the beginning what's the story with that for our listeners that don't know that

[66:09]where to start with that martin shakrelli is basically like uh he got in trouble for some

[66:14]sort of con scheme he was running with a pharmacy but he was like the ultimate like rich finance bro

[66:20]and he bought the only copy of this wu-tang album that came out

[66:25]and every once in a while he'll like play it on tiktok or like an instagram live and you can catch

[66:30]him listening to it but it's very rare so it's like this very mysterious thing that only is that

[66:35]it is intriguing right and it's such a you're right here the wu-tang is screwing around you

[66:39]make an album and you release it to one person that's wild that's so opposite badass i mean

[66:43]that's crazy guys should we is it make an should we do an episode and only send it to jeff from

[66:50]apple valley and not let john listen to it oh john oh not that any of those guys listen to it i

[66:55]would send it to john for me dinah that i wouldn't feel right about doing it he is our number one fan

[66:59]no sometimes you gotta sometimes you gotta lock it up you don't get to have it uh criminology

[67:05]he's ghost face said that when he heard this beat he said he knew it was gonna be his

[67:10]uh incarcerated scar faces

[67:27]uh who was it rizza said he was making this for gizza but then uh

[67:35]gray heard this beat and wrote some lyrics and boom they had a song does he go by gizza aaron or

[67:39]can you i've heard it from that gizza but i i mean yes they say just uh if they're like when

[67:45]method man says it like on on the record that's gizza okay that's just what i said gizza now i

[67:51]can go back and edit that in make you guys appear fools these are i think this is really i think

[67:56]this is really exemplifies the rizza drum sound like he was always going i mean that's the thing

[68:01]about the rizza sound he was he was heading toward jazz he was

[68:04]borrowing a lot and i mean he did a lot from stacks and so he's like really specific in his

[68:10]his sound and where it's coming from and i think you know it sits right along tribe and other

[68:15]things of that era where it was really looking at jazz and and soul of the 60s whereas other

[68:21]people took things in different directions uh and now i mean back then we had the gizza

[68:27]and we had the rizza and now we have big aj and the rizzler i don't i don't know what that is

[68:34]you guys know what the costco guys are i've never been to costco i have never been saying yes okay

[68:42]what's the costco in the sam's club what type what's that called like uh a big box store

[68:47]no you need like a membership right i've i have never been in a membership store i've never been

[68:55]in a costco i've never been in this i've never been in a sam's club i've never walked into one

[68:59]i mean either listen guys i just want the audience to realize this and i know there's some very

[69:04]i'm talking to here i am trying to do a podcast to be funny and these guys don't even know who

[69:09]the costco guys are that's crazy to me that when i say the rizzler it means nothing to you guys

[69:14]just i'm looking back i'm saying the rizzler and they're looking at me with the blank as the faces

[69:19]sleeping so we don't know if matt knows he's asleep but russell and i don't know man man

[69:26]i mean i know who the rizzler is uh uh goes our rizza considers this his favorite no no

[69:32]a few weeks ago

[69:34]it's funny that rob's the only one like the whole text chain that like always sends over tiktoks

[69:40]and he's the one who thinks that we're the ones that are the dumb asses or whatever we're not

[69:46]being in tiktok he's the one who's got it every time i click on it it takes me to download an app

[69:50]and i'm like nope not not doing it i'm out listen if the chinese haven't figured me out by now with

[69:57]my habits i bet this guy would like busty women walking toward him in an office hey nihao i

[70:04]appreciate it thank you so much rob who who on the text chain other from joe john from watana

[70:10]is most likely to have the tiktok app and seeing what you're sending out there oh i if a tiktok is

[70:16]is texted in a forest where there's no listeners does anybody hear it i think barry from burnsville

[70:21]is you think he's got it i think him yeah i think he does maybe maybe secretly on a burner but he's

[70:27]got it iotine this is featuring inspected deck one of my favorites

[70:33]rebel inf

[70:34]the rhyme schemes in the in his lyrics are crazy i think deck is like the

[70:41]the real unsung guy and he never had a big hit solo album the way ray goes to method man

[70:48]jizza rizza did so i feel like he never he never quite got the solo shine i don't know why that is

[70:53]but his solo stuff never quite hit so good uh now i think he might have been one of the elder

[71:01]elder statesman too but i have to look that up can it all be so

[71:04]simple he's 54 remix this is a remix of their song off uh

[71:09]erin how do they split the money on an album like this you get paid for like doing a verse on a

[71:14]track or how does that work you know i think that did end up being problematic for them i think i

[71:19]think they ended up having some disagreements i think it was going to be yeah i don't know how

[71:24]you split it but i think i think that did end up uh causing some and they essentially broke up for

[71:29]a long time um and have broken up and then tried to get back together but i know i think there have

[71:33]been some money disagreements you're right this it's much easier um to split things four ways when

[71:40]it's zero there's nothing to split yeah there's nothing to split even i can do that math matt

[71:45]while you are looking up uh members of the wu-tang i think it would be fun to read out the real names

[71:51]of ray and ghost if you got those up well inspect the deck is jason richard hunter love it love it

[71:58]who else do you want ghostface killer see if i can get that one i think it i believe it is

[72:03]dennis coles dennis david coles there we go there you go who's the other one you wanted

[72:10]ray kwan what's ray kwan's real name his government name if you will it's my government yeah what's my

[72:16]government cory woods oh oh that one's not so that's not so nerdy aaron what would rob's what

[72:22]would rob's wu-tang name be oh there's gonna be there's gotta be a website for this right yeah

[72:27]what's your wu-tang name okay let's try it i'd probably be jizza wu-tang name generator

[72:32]generator

[72:32]generator

[72:33]all right here we go hamstringer what do i type in here let me see hamstring

[72:37]enter the wu-tang okay so what do i write just type your name okay we're not gonna say that loud

[72:44]let's see wacko ambassador oh i like that

[72:49]that's too bad or b okay russell

[72:54]a and a yep master criminal oh yeah master criminal okay all right take it all right

[73:02]ghostface

[73:03]first name is dennis i'm actually surprised rob knows how to spell my name

[73:06]so fuck off what are you talking about

[73:10]hey don't don't joke about this uh all my best friends seem to think i don't have two l's in my

[73:17]name dumb fucks that do that don't do it that i learned like episode five of the podcast russell

[73:22]kept saying my name has two l's uh aaron you are scratching hunter oh okay all right and then we'll

[73:30]do man i like it and he is wicked bastard oh yes that's pretty good we're pretty good that was

[73:36]pretty good uh in that last song uh ghostface talks about uh smoking black dust and you know

[73:42]i had to look up what that was black dust is a combination because i was like oh whatever black

[73:48]dust is i bet that shit is crazy and guess what it's a common concoction of pcp heroin

[73:54]and formaldehyde which is soaked onto parsley flakes and then smoked

[74:00]can you fucking imagine doing that it's like it's like oh man this pcp just isn't hitting anymore

[74:06]what if we added that shit that we put dead bodies in oh you mean formaldehyde yeah and

[74:10]then we're gonna spread it on parsley why are we doing that last sounds like big parsley got

[74:16]in there somehow we gotta get in this black dust situation people aren't using parsley anymore

[74:21]there's only so many perkins there's not as many perkins as it used to be i associate parsley with

[74:26]perkins so strong on top of the omelet every meal at perkins

[74:30]had parsley they had parsley all over the place i was like there must just be a crate of parsley

[74:35]in the back and just they're putting it right next to my egg every single time it's like your

[74:40]first year out there that's all you do is chop parsley yeah exactly chop that shit yeah it's

[74:44]like the sushi chefs first they do the parsley can i sell the can i sell the french silk pie

[74:48]shut the fuck up and go chop that parsley that parsley i noticed this egg doesn't have a giant

[74:52]sprig of parsley next to it yeah uh shark and words you want me you want me to like clean up

[74:57]those syrup bottles that have been sitting out there for shut up

[75:00]hey i noticed a lot of the booths are really sticky should i go clean those no what are you

[75:06]talking about we will not clean those did you guys have panicookins where you were no i always joke

[75:14]my mom occasionally will go out uh and meet either my sister-in-law brother or other of her

[75:19]friends at the pancake house and i always joke and i say are you talking about the panicookin hoose

[75:25]and she gets annoyed with me that i make panicookin hoose juice

[75:29]yes

[75:29]there was one in kind of the diana richfield border for a long time but

[75:35]because you know what their bit was what is that if you ordered a panicookin

[75:40]okay because you know you might not guess this but my family we loved bits

[75:45]we would go places like if they did a song or if they did a bit we were there all the time

[75:49]when we went to outback steakhouse and the waiter sat in your booth we got a kick out of that like

[75:54]crazy good i might we went to our first tgi fridays and we saw how they were dressed it

[75:59]would blew our minds panicookin the bit was if you ordered a panicookin which is like a big fluffy

[76:04]pancake a dutch pancake the waitress would come out yelling panicookin panicookin panicookin and

[76:12]then come to your table and we're like wait hold on hold on this is where you stole the cookie parade

[76:18]no this is not hold on there's nothing new excuse me listen the waiters yelled during

[76:24]the cookie parade no we yelled at the waiters i watched the way you held that up you held it up

[76:29]just like that you joked that they do with the cookie okay for our listeners out there

[76:33]one of our biggest traditions the most important tradition probably the thing that rob has given

[76:38]us all the most joy with we go out and watch college bowl games every year and we have this

[76:44]thing where we'll order the cookie sundae like the cookie skillets or whatever with the ice cream

[76:50]huh well it started out with just one person said i'll get the one person

[76:54]yeah and we all started ordering and then it was like the whole dang time you know the chances of

[76:58]me being the first person to order that cookie was high and then there's a high chance well no i said

[77:04]what i said was listen we just ordered a ton of cookies if they all bring them out at the same

[77:10]time and we have multiple waiters carrying cookies we're gonna start singing the same way that you

[77:16]were just saying that other restaurant carries those panicookins if they're carrying them all

[77:20]fancy like we're gonna start yelling keep doing that movement it's right there and they and sure

[77:25]enough they came out with like three four people just carrying cookies and we start going cookies

[77:28]parade and now everybody's looking at the waiters we flip the tables on these waiters oh you're gonna

[77:34]come sing to me on my birthday and have everybody look at me and try to embarrass me well guess what

[77:38]cookie parade now we're singing at you okay the tables have turned no one's gonna understand this

[77:45]bit at all no that's okay who cares all about 12 people well that's a third of our our spotify

[77:53]listeners who listen our ice water with ghost face killer this is

[77:57]you

[77:58]the first uh song for capadona yeah i got capadona in there capadona of course which was who was not

[78:06]on the earlier albums because he was in prison but but apparently he taught rayquan how to rhyme

[78:12]and was an important do you mean daryl hill yes that's what i'm talking about uh no i could not

[78:18]because you know normally with these i try to go through and like have it not play for sure

[78:23]super offensive stuff that was hard to do on this album there was it was hard to find

[78:28]bits that were not bad glaciers of ice you know there was the one bit that was not hard to find

[78:34]on this then it turns out rayquan and beck were both asked to be a part of a different album by

[78:41]someone named flume wow i don't know if you guys know flume aaron is this anyone familiar to you

[78:46]i don't know flume no but um uh this both rayquan and beck were asked to be featured artists on this

[78:51]rob you know check this song out but you know this features rayquan on the flume album but he's

[78:58]hit the music

[78:59]the other person that was asked to be on this album by flume was back

[79:09]wow and this is tiny cities featuring back check this out

[79:13]that doesn't sound like back but he's on there somewhere that could be back that could be back

[79:21]that sounds like i think so yeah that could be back either way when it comes to be a featured

[79:25]artist on the flume album who do you think is going to be on the flume album i don't know

[79:28]who did it bet with rayquan with rayquan who did it better beck did it better i like that

[79:35]those are nice kind of fun flume is an australian musician dj and record producer he's regarded as

[79:42]a pioneer of future bass who helped uh populate popularize the genre that is a thing that struck

[79:49]me about this album i was listening to today on the very same speaker i went right from tlc into

[79:53]this album and then it just happened again when we went from wu-tang to flume this album is kind

[79:57]of quiet like it's very subtle i had to oh it's got but it's got a deep bass it does yeah yeah i

[80:04]was listening in my car okay it does have a deep bass if you don't have a preamp though and you

[80:10]have a victrola like i have it has got a deep treble you're gonna miss it i am a record player

[80:16]god yes russell you better not play that song where they go daddy sang bass mom sang tenor

[80:21]because all you would hear is the mama's part i don't think you'd know what daddy's saying

[80:27]can i say this i i you've been talking about preamps and i had a joke

[80:31]i've got two jokes really bring it sometimes your preamps can be louder than amps

[80:37]and sometimes they can be from the navy

[80:42]and sometimes your preamps can have more them because you've been record player

[80:50]uh all right verbal intercourse what in the hell was that

[80:55]i've heard

[80:57]this is verbal intercourse this is the first this is naz on here first non-wu-tang member

[81:12]on an album what a member what a big yeah yeah i'd like to make you wish like could we get a

[81:19]naz arisa album for this like if we can get back into the time machine can we get a naz arisa album

[81:24]yeah that'd be great

[81:25]uh

[81:27]wisdom body

[81:28]this is a classic wu-tang sound isn't it yeah aaron is there is there another wu-tang

[81:37]wu-tang branded album that is on the list or that we should be thinking about before some of the

[81:44]solo albums or um i don't well no i think well i know jizz at liquid swords is going to be on the

[81:49]list and a wu-tang or i mean ghostface supreme clientele is on the list uh the other because

[81:55]there's only two or three albums that are on the list and i don't know if there's any other albums

[81:57]three maybe there are four now wu-tang group albums but there really weren't that many because

[82:01]enter because enter the 36 chambers came out then it was all the solo albums and there really wasn't

[82:07]another wu album until uh wu-tang forever which was what like 99 or 2000 and i don't know if that's

[82:14]on the list nope there's only one wu-tang yeah i mean that one thing was pretty i mean it's

[82:20]incredible yeah it launched an entire genre but russia's here's a rate here's actually a

[82:27]raycon verse i don't even think we've heard a rayquan verse

[82:29]rayquan yeah he's like he's so obtuse is that a word you just never know exactly what he's

[82:39]talking about i love that about uh andy that's how andy defrayne uh described the uh

[82:44]the warden when he wouldn't let him uh no way write letters to get more uh books yeah okay

[82:53]how can you be so obtuse okay maybe that's the wrong word then guys i met somebody

[82:57]who was so obtuse that he was up threes

[82:59]up threes up trice oh three twos abstract maybe this is what i'm looking for i'm not sure

[83:06]ice cream hard to penetrate this is the one everyone knows right yeah if there's a hit

[83:13]it's this one right admittedly this was the one song i knew on the album before listening today

[83:19]method man it's got all up in your guts so you know where i'm like

[83:24]it makes sense

[83:26]i mean why so i love this track though because like ghost is really good at rapping about love

[83:40]surprisingly and ray it seems like ray's kind of out of his element like he doesn't

[83:45]have game and like ghost really i mean ghost does crime really well he does the narrative

[83:50]you know man jumped out of a window in the middle of a crime kind of thing really well but like

[83:55]ghost rapping about love

[83:56]is really good he's very sincere and i love that

[83:59]i love your face i love your smile

[84:04]what i really thought i'd come up with something did you get a listen to this one in the house or

[84:13]did you have to turn the this have to go on the your you guys i had this on today and anna was

[84:18]like i like this what is this i like it she's like i like the vibe and then it got all scrambled

[84:22]and you're like wait wait wait sit here and watch this for a little bit yeah

[84:26]you know this is there's something about like the drums or the drum machine or the sound that is

[84:37]very wu-tang yeah it is appealing yeah and you know what it is when you hear it

[84:43]and he's like my nose bleeds snotty like no one else talks about snotty nose bleeds but it works

[84:47]you're like oh yeah this is the sound you need when you're talking about snotty nose bleeds

[84:50]getting out my shoddy my nose is getting snotty

[84:56]you should have been in a wu-tang man i think i copied their verse exactly there

[85:02]heaven and hell this is method man

[85:04]there's always a slow jam on a wu-tang album like on the method man uh album it was um

[85:19]the one with mary j blige right and then ghost had one all they got is you with mary j

[85:24]there's always something like this they

[85:26]slow it down wu-tang is for the children man so you let your kid listen to wu-tang today

[85:31]no he was not home today

[85:33]this next song this next song is about mike madano it's called north star

[85:39]uh this is odb singing in the background

[85:42]he might he might have been in jail during this one right

[85:46]i don't do any research

[85:49]i was a bigger fan of when john casey was one of them saying

[85:56]members i was gonna say uh dino cicerelli i really liked his earlier wow

[86:01]neil broughton had that great verse on the one track matt

[86:05]yep can't can't play this game with you if you guys got me on that one

[86:12]can't think of anything any other north stars hockey player i'm still stuck trying to remember

[86:19]the mary j song on to cow darcy walk a walk darcy walk rob rob go to the the wu-tang namefighter

[86:25]put a darcy walker

[86:27]name generator hey all you hockey people out there i'm bringing this heat darcy i'm bringing

[86:36]the hot poker to you right now luck okay it's close enough i nailed it uh beloved bastard

[86:44]that's pretty damn good that's really good i would say that's a good enough joke to get us

[86:50]right to the rating system and now it's time for everybody's favorite part of the show

[86:55]everybody's favorite part of the show everybody's favorite part of the show

[86:55]and very popular beck did it better rating system oh yeah go with aaron first go with aaron first

[87:07]this time i want to hear his rating for everybody else's okay we are investigating this list we're

[87:14]getting in its guts we're seeing what this is all about is this at 219 hey guys we're only a fifth

[87:21]of the ways through the 200s it feels like you've been in the 200s or ever speaking of

[87:25]wu-tang forever we've been doing this we've been doing this podcast for forever can you look up

[87:31]what our 200th episode was i can't i i don't even want to think about how long ago that was that's

[87:36]crazy i stopped keeping track a few weeks ago uh-oh uh here's the deal okay is this album perfect

[87:43]at 219 it belongs here chef's kiss it is right after crazy sexy cool or it's to this out that

[87:51]would be a rolling well toned or is this album higher up on the list which of course is a lower

[87:55]number

[87:55]that means it got rolling boned it should not have been back this far or is this a rolling

[87:59]grown we do not like this album it should be lower on the list which of course would be a higher

[88:04]number more in the future which if we think about calendars again higher number hey this is how

[88:10]intuitive our system is i looked for our 200th and we had 199 slanted and enchanted by pavement

[88:17]oh my god and you would expect 200 to come up nope 201 midnight marauders by a tribe it turns

[88:23]out we did 200 diamond life by

[88:25]shot a we did that first before oh wow i remember that the dumbest of the dumb no we can't even count

[88:31]that was a great idea that was a great idea we're just like we're gonna shut it it's like when we

[88:34]were like we should do the madonna episode backwards it's gonna be brilliant one and only

[88:38]time mike madonna episode oh yeah oh yeah that's what he said when he scored a goal

[88:45]oh yeah oh all i need to get by that's the mary jane methods man

[88:50]um song on the tical album jesus sometimes i sing a mike madonna song when i'm doing it

[88:55]i'm driving in a gas

[88:56]keep going i'm just doing the soundtrack holiday

[89:01]not as many songs about quick trip i need that's got it here's the deal

[89:10]okay aaron what do you think rolling well toned rolling bone or rolling grown

[89:14]rayquan uh something cuban only built for cuban links i don't know if this needs to

[89:21]be the highest ranked woo solo solo album i as i said i

[89:25]think i like uh iron man and supreme clientele more i know i listen to those more i think a lot

[89:30]of people on the internet like liquid swords by jizza but i don't actually know that one very well

[89:34]i do know that there needs to be more woo in general in the top 200 so because i love the

[89:41]sound of the album because i love the uh soundscape because i love the rhyming i'm

[89:45]gonna give it a rolling boned aaron gave it a rolling bone that's a good zone

[89:54]go ahead keep going yeah we're all listening i can't keep going matt what do you think rolling

[90:04]well toned rolling bone or rolling grown i i gotta think just personally i i haven't got into

[90:11]the wu-tang as much as i should i don't know the end i'd rather get into wu-tang the groups as

[90:19]opposed to the individual albums so i'm just looking at other albums that were coming up next

[90:24]and i don't know if it feels like it fits on the list but i don't know if it feels like it should

[90:29]be this high for the individual um rayquan album itself so i'm gonna say it's rolling

[90:35]grown should be lower on the list should be lower on the list which means it has a higher number you

[90:42]know say that right all right you got it russell what do you think so rolling well toned rolling

[90:45]bone or rolling grown i enjoyed the album i this i'm gonna come back to two i've got two things i

[90:54]do a lot on on the the list or the ranking one when the first album is so damn good it's almost

[91:01]hard to live up so i know this is rayquan and not wu-tang but that first wu-tang was so damn good

[91:06]it's like oasis but this is wu-tang i mean this is essentially a wu-tang album but the first one

[91:11]is so good and it's like oasis the first one we did was so good the second one to me is not quite

[91:17]as exciting for me the second one i've i've said this a few times with hip-hop albums i'm gonna

[91:23]read you guys some songs

[91:24]the g-funk intro gin and juice w balls

[91:29]murder was the case who am i ain't no fun

[91:35]this might not be about rayquan the fuck if this should be higher than doggy style by

[91:50]i'm sorry it's just not yeah it's not i mean like yeah i

[91:54]get it and so i know i'm unfairly punishing it but until i hear doggy style and i think it's

[92:00]coming up and matt you were saying we've got other albums coming up soon i can't handle any

[92:05]more hip-hop albums until i hear doggy style because doggy style to me is like a top 50 album

[92:10]so i'm gonna say it's rolling grown too high on the list i want to hear the shiznit coming up as

[92:16]soon as possible i'm going driving in my car i filled it up with gas so i'll go real far i go

[92:22]get a drink so well we've got about

[92:24]six years because it's at 340 oh shut the fuck up you gotta be kidding me hey matt you know what

[92:31]that ain't no fun it's at least it's at least three years are you serious how is aaron explain

[92:38]that aaron aaron you're hip-hop you know way more about hip-hop than i how is that possible i don't

[92:43]know it's pretty far down there but i i think doggy style is maybe more uneven than you than you

[92:48]think did you hear the songs i just listed off listen they'll be ball

[92:53]that song's amazing all right and rob pull that up let's listen to that

[92:59]that was the dog pound here right on w balls 187.4 on your fm down you're tuned into the biggest

[93:16]balls of them all dj so t nuts don't forget about my homeboy easy dick in the jack off hour that's

[93:22]happening at 12 o'clock tonight right now it's time to go to bed

[93:23]right now we got some new snoop doggy dog for that ass this one is called the shiznit

[93:27]you're about to go downtown bitch right here on the station that plays only platinum hits

[93:31]that's 187.4 on your fm dial if you're licking that's w balls

[93:35]that seriously that would be the lead the lead track on that last album

[93:50]rolling groan all right listen unfortunately you guys are

[93:53]all incorrect

[93:54]shit unfortunately you guys are all incorrect this isn't a rolling reunion

[94:00]nailed it reunion reunion reunion reunion

[94:08]this two years later and it's basically a wu-tang reunion album

[94:23]okay but this is like even harder and like more out there and it's the same thing i mean it's it's

[94:27]great more wu-tang more wu-tang more wu-tang it's awesome next up we have an album where there's a

[94:34]40 cover and 20 for lap dance it's deja vu by crosby stills dash and young

[94:39]is that album got a hot dog bar i mean i heard when you want to hear about the greatest albums

[94:46]of all time the deja vu in minneapolis i'll never forget had two floors so sometimes a stripper would

[94:53]come through a hole in the ceiling maybe you'll want to hear from guys who chat on the pole it was

[94:58]crazy i've got that by the way i got an argument with my wife where i always told her oh shit my

[95:04]lights went off it's like i'm changing it yeah rob look at it he just looks like he's the guy

[95:11]in charge of the bad signal he's looking right at it

[95:16]this should be a video podcast

[95:23]if you could only see what russell looks like right now

[95:25]his ass blown out this is what this is what my large intestine looks like during a colonoscopy

[95:34]can i tell you guys i'm not gonna get in trouble tonight i got in trouble about a week ago when we

[95:40]did it two late nights um and the same thing's gonna happen a week ago when we did the podcast

[95:45]afterwards we hung out for a little bit and i went up and i watched the whole replay of the

[95:50]timberwolves game oh my god and it it was it was 2 55 in the morning and i heard footsteps coming

[95:55]from from upstairs what are you doing down here and i was like they're in overtime against the

[96:01]kings i have to watch she's like it already happened and i'm gonna watch the i'm gonna

[96:07]watch the replay again tonight i know i'm gonna get in trouble for being up watching basketball

[96:11]like three in the morning amazing you know what russell some guys run their house some guys run

[96:20]their house russell did you touch the timer on the lights that i put on there downstairs

[96:24]no it turns the lights off on me all the time i want those lights off sometimes

[96:29]speaking of can i can i get one thing off my chest here sure hey um if you and your upstairs

[96:36]roommate just happen to be watching the show rescue me which is about firefighters guys doing

[96:41]it's about fires every episode hey let's let's not throw towels on top of the stovetop it's it's

[96:49]not a fan oh also if we're gonna light candles in the house we gotta blow the candles out at the

[96:55]end of the night just saying if we're gonna watch the firefighters show we we have to abide by safety

[97:00]first right also you gotta get the candles out of there easy answer that's no way they know the

[97:05]candles give her those things that she can flick onto the light they like that just as much listen

[97:10]they like that oh i just thought we were starting the episode oh wait should i stop my recording no

[97:18]because we got to think of jokes russell

[97:19]do we have jokes do one more i do one more i don't have any more jokes i can't remember what we talked

[97:25]about this episode give us your give us your uh your the bit you're adding to your comedy special

[97:29]next week my wife's boobs look like pillows that i've slept on for four years what were they in the

[97:38]navy it's time to say oh great i insulted my wife and i got big-timed

[97:49]sorry i apologize russ play the music what what play the i said play the music oh it's so fucking

[97:57]funny it's gotta be hit the music it's like ravishing rick rude god that's just what i said

[98:02]to my cousin wild cherry i said play that music and he was like yeah but what kind of music i was

[98:08]like well you know what i'd like to hear right now probably something funky oh and he was like

[98:14]wow

[98:19]that was fantastic you want to guess what uh where wild cherry worked my cousin where's that

[98:24]at the seven up factory
